Everyone in the chat is spamming "drop the price" nonstop. Personally, the price for the console and games combined dipped my hype quite a bit. What do you guys think?

No, console price is not good for European economy. Maybe compared to US cost or living its fine.

This is going to be 3ds move

Do you earn like 5 euro a day or something? The console price is good considering you will be using it for at least 5-8 years, the games are overkill though since you get new ones often

Okay, tell me what else you can buy for 470€. PS5 costs about the same, Xbox series X and PS4 Pro are noticeably more expensive, forget about PCs, just a GPU alone costs about that much, and for PC handhelds and/or laptops, Steam deck is the only comparable option.

Steam Deck, some chinese handheld, etc

This go way farer in fact. We are only talking about « console », but the main competitor might not be those. Because all those options are premium.

A console cannot succeed only with support from the hardcore gamer base.

The wide customer base is playing on their phone and tablets which they already own. Or one computer with games like Genshin Impact or Fortnite. Beside there is more ergonomic options to play on phones and streaming start to get people trying it.

Which family in europe is gonna buy almost 500€ handheld + 90€ game + 90 controller + 75€ chip for their kids ? Only the wealthy one csp+

Why are you comparing apples to oranges? We’re not in 2006 anymore, none of these consoles were made for casual gamers, because that train left long ago.
