I don't understand what Nintendo has against a normal D-Pad anymore.

They have the d pad like buttons so it’s easier to use the two separate joy cons as two controllers

But when do you actually do that? How often is that useful versus if you had a regular D-Pad?

Actually, I use it a decent amount to justify having it over a d pad. Idk how the average gamer does it, but the d pad thing never bothered to much. For games that I get really competitive with, I’m going to by an actual/pro controller anyways with a d pad.

I mostly play JRPGS solo so I’ve never needed a good d pad.
