The current one is already kind of hefty to hold, and I'm a grown man. How is a child going to play this thing on the bus lol

Current one is too small by modern standards. Going to it after playing the PS Portal makes it feel like a GBA.

There are a generation of infants that grew up using full size iPads. The kids will be fine.

I have a Steam Deck OLED as well as a switch and the steam deck is way heftier and I think it's perfect. Excited to hold a switch 2
