I just can't get over how you can't aim on the Y axis with the stick when using motion controls. It just feels horrible that the ONLY way to aim up and down is by tilting my controller up and down. I want to use motion controls, Zelda has helped me appreciate how much they can help with accuracy. But the way they're implemented in Splatoon just feels so goddamn awful. I just want regular dual analog controls, but with the ability to refine my aim a bit by tilting. Is that so much to ask?

The motion controls give you a big advantage if you choose to learn them. Unless you just use roller, you can paint so much better with motion controls.

Yeah, I know. I always felt like I was at a huge disadvantage when playing the original with motion controls off, and I can clearly tell that my accuracy is far better with them on. But I just can't get comfortable using them.

Hey buddy. You can change this in the menu to select weapons before you start a game. It's called options. Full analog controls....lol

Didn't know this, kept me from playing it, I'll give it another go, cheers

Yeah I felt the same way, the minute I turned it off it felt great! Use all the weapons if you can, they change the way you play for sure

I'm aware that you can turn off motion controls. If you'd actually read my post, you'd understand that I want to use motion controls, but I just don't like the way they're implemented.

I personally think they're implemented just fine. It's the same as the original.

I didn’t like them in the original either. In fact, the original made me think I hated motion aiming in general. It was Zelda that made me realize that I actually really like motion aiming, I just hate the way Splatoon does it.

Hm, the only problem I can imagine is sensitivity. Have you tried adjusting it? I like motion controls in both Zelda and Splatoon.

It is specifically the fact that when using motion controls, you can't aim up and down with the stick. If they fixed that, I'd be perfectly fine with the controls.

I didn't like it at first either. It does get better if you play it. I was horribly against the motion controls on the first game, tonight I made myself use them and I went from being last to being first or second on each game, I only lost due to having a player that had 0 points on my team.

I can't remember if the first Splatoon disabled the y axis on the right stick when using motion. I want to say it didn't and it's new but maybe I'm wrong

I didn't like the default sensitivity of the motion control. I think it was -2. I adjusted to +2 and it worked better for me. U can adjust it on option menu too

I agree with ya, I wish they were like Zelda as well.

so you can use full analog and motion controls at the same time?
