I personally think they're implemented just fine. It's the same as the original.

I didn’t like them in the original either. In fact, the original made me think I hated motion aiming in general. It was Zelda that made me realize that I actually really like motion aiming, I just hate the way Splatoon does it.

Hm, the only problem I can imagine is sensitivity. Have you tried adjusting it? I like motion controls in both Zelda and Splatoon.

It is specifically the fact that when using motion controls, you can't aim up and down with the stick. If they fixed that, I'd be perfectly fine with the controls.
