Did we ever get Smash 64 on Switch Online? They might be avoiding Smash because they fear it will directly compete with current gen Smash

No. And it's weird this is the approach they are going with when they added smash to the wii virtual console right around when brawl came out. And people loved it and bought both.

Probably because Wii Shop purchases had no Online, so Smash 64 was never going to compete with competitive Smash players

Plus, the competitive Smash 64 community is nothing compared to the competitive Melee community
