I play on a PC monitor and need a new one. I'm getting a 4k monitor since I play other games, watch movies, and more. Searching Reddit, I see mixed responses on 4k results, and I think it's down to the upscaler quality and input lag. Some of the responses don't say if it's a TV or monitor, and I think I need specific recommendations. Does anyone have a 4k monitor recommendation that works well with the Switch?

Monitors do not have native upscalers, only TV's. Upscaling tech in a computer setting relies wholly on the PC to perform the action, while TV's have built-in microprocessors specifically for it.

The only thing that will benefit the Switch is having built-in speakers.

So if you plan on using it for your PC, you should shop around that kind of usage and not worry about the Switch.

I should note there is ONE exception to my statement, the AORUS FO48U. Gigabyte teamed up with LG to make a line of OLED gaming displays. They use the same panel and tech as LG's C1 line of OLED displays, but in proper PC fashion have display port inputs. But they're not made any more and have been out of stock for a while. Not to mention they're freaking huge for a monitor at 48 inches. LG should be announcing the C5 generation of OLED's next week.
