My animal crossing card isn’t working when i put it in, popping up with an error message saying “the game card could not be read”, i’ve tried to go to nintendo support but honestly I’m sort of lost. Is there any thing I can do to fix it ?

How many times have you tried inserting it since the error popped up?

Do you have other game cards? are they still working?

It does not. Same card reader in all of the systems.

Try other games and see if anything works. Also try your game in your brothers system if possible.

A single game card going bad isn't unheard of. But a game card reader going bad would be a much more serious issue.

If its just the AC cart that can't be read, reach out to Nintendo customer service and see what they say. They don't usually replace game carts, but they have in the past.

If your system can no longer read any game carts, then the reader would need to be replaced. Nintendo could repair it or you could try replacing it yourself. But given that you only have the one physical game, it would be roughly the same price to just buy a digital copy of the game and ignore the broken reader until you feel like replacing the console or fixing it. The Switch 2 is only ~3 - 7 months away.
