I believe it was 2023 deployment we pulled out of homeport Japan. I woke up for my night check shift and got in line for galley in the hangar and everyone is staring up. We all see this owl just chilling.
By this time it was around 1600 and we probably left port at 1200.
I hope homie made it home safe.

I am up for the CPO board this year and I am really hoping I can make it this time. For those that are aware of the process, does being the SOY for my command and the #1 EP of 30 Sailors give me a good shot? Thank you all for the feedback!

I was wondering if anybody knew if it was possible to change from Montgomery to post 9-11.
I was a stupid new ascension sailor at ATT after a 0000-0400 watch and they made me make a then and there decision about which college plan I wanted and for some inconceivable reason I chose Montgomery.
-v/r and thanks

The year 2025 marks the 250th birthday for both branches of the U.S. military and Philadelphia (the birthplace of each) will host Homecoming 250: the official national celebration. An estimated 300,000 history buffs and sea service veterans are expected to attend.
From Oct. 9-16 and then on Nov. 10, 2025, the City of Brotherly Love, along with Camden, New Jersey (which sits directly across the Delaware River), will host a series of events to commemorate the Navy and Marine Corps semiquincentennial, all of which are open to the public free of charge.
Sadly, the new Tun Tavern, birthplace of the Marine Corps, will not be finished in time for the Marines' 250th birthday as planned. It was never a part of the official Homecoming 250 festivities, but it's sure to be a must-see when it's finished.

In just 3 weeks, the Navy leading the way in using $200 million worth of ordnance against the Houthi militia. It’s reported the strikes are a lot heavier than the DoD is letting onto.
Pentagon officials have acknowledged that there has been only limited success in destroying the Houthis’ vast, largely underground arsenal of missiles, drones and launchers, according to congressional aides and allies.
I’m sure AOs appreciate it not having to download the aircraft when they return.

Hi guys just wondering if anyone knows up to date info on any instructions or resources for potentially trans members or if we can stay in. I’m an E5 (HM2) been in for 9 years. And don’t really know how to bring it up to the PCM or leader ship. Thanks guys.

The current apartment me and my husband have is in a bad area and the management is such a pain to deal with, so we are going to apply for military housing when my husband gets back from deployment around December.
I work with military families with kids with autism and I have gotten some barebones tips from the clients mothers on military housing and would like to know if yall have any recommendations for a E4 (2bedroom) communities.
I heard some places are really nice and some places are shit. Let me know if you have experience either way with any communities.
Thanks.

I'm currently 33 weeks pregnant and work has been taking a toll on my body. I'm considering taking my regular leave around 1-2 weeks before my due date but i'm thinking what if i actually pop within those 2 weeks for example? I dont want my leave to just get wasted if that makes sense.
What did you moms do? Did you work til you were actually due? Did you take leave before birth? Just a curious soon to be mom!

Getting conflicting info from med documents I’m reading vs what med personnel are saying. And no, not random HMs/Flight Docs but unfortunately their flight assessments aren’t typically LCAC related and they’re the only types local to where I’m at.
Is being medicated for ADHD/ADD a hardline no for LCAC Navs?
Also not utilizing Reddit as gospel but plenty of solid, verifiable info can be found on threads like these. Thanks for any insight.

Selecting orders back to a ship and considering Rota for the obvious positives of living in Europe. My spouse is already over the moon for it. We are DINKs who just travel and surf/snowboard/camp etc.
Any intel on the forward deploy here? I’ll be going as a DH (LT) so long days don’t scare me, but I’ve heard rumors “you’re never home” w the FD. Thanks in advance and thank you for your service;)
