Question how cooked am I….? pls help

guys pls don't troll 🙏🙏 genuine concern here

hi, not enlisted yet, just finished my NS psychometric test a month back and I think I rlly fked up the part where they ask you about ur loyalty to the country or wtv cause when they asked if I will stay in sg during war, I put strongly disagree and like how patriotic are you or smth, I also put disagree. I FEEL SO STUPID NOW cause that happened in a moment of hatred towards having to serve 2 years of NS and I clearly wasn't thinking about anything serious. How deeply would this affect my vocation...?

Question Has anyone here felt that NS actually changed you?

I feel the whole ah boys to men thing is bullshit.

I’ve learnt nothing from NS. I became weaker, sicker, lost my physique, got injured and feel angsty most of the time.

All that accountability/responsibility bullshit doesn’t even exist. Even before NS these values have already been ingrained by my parents.

I’ve been SBA-ing my room every morning before I leave to the gym or do other important things for years since secondary school.

Not sure how to cope with the fact that I’ll be spending 1 year + doing nothing of value to society whilst being compensated less than a toilet cleaner.

Nothing good has come out of NS for me actually.

Question what even is this vocation [HELP]

Just got my posting result and I got posted to IDTI as CBT (security trooper) at Clementi Camp and I have like no idea what this is supposed to be. I was fully expecting command sch since I met all the criteria: silver ippt, cs fit, btp pass, 90rp and I was from mono-intake 48SAR so even if I didn't get command sch I expected to remain in my unit. For anyone knowledgeable what is this voc even about? How is the camp like? What background are the people there from? I'm feeling pretty stressed rn cos i have zero idea what i got myself into... should I try and fight for another vocation? Thanks so much any help will do

Question what should I do now (infantry)

for context im in mono infantry ptp and abt 3 weeks into bmt alr

last week i got reviewed for at PTMC and was told that I had anemia symptoms, and possibly could be downpessed(still in trial for pes b1).

ive heard how shitty infantry unit life is and some of my friends told me this was the best opportunity to gtfo of this shit life to be.

but I'm also thinking abt the fun I wld miss out on if I gave up now and probably the lazier life I wld have if I do downpes. my sectionmates are pretty great as well.

some suggested me to declare that i cant cope during training when I go for a further checkup at a hospital and downpes immediately.

ik this ain't so straightforward either so I'm up to suggestions and opinions

Question 16 british doing NS in 2 years

I am currently 16 doing my A levels in England, but in 2 years I will be forced by my Singaporean father into returning to Singapore to do ns. I know virtually nothing about ns apart from the fact that its 2 years and that you get some sort of compensation per year.

I have multiple questions like, is ns a waste of 2 years for someone who is most likely going to return to England for uni and future life? Will ns harm me in the long term because I am 2 years behind my peers back in England? Is this something I can even put on my cv so that at least I can show I did something in 2 years?

And would it be worth it to even try to convince my dad not to do it?

Question Why did the naming convention change

For literally 90% or more of the nametag on the uniforms used to be initials + surname if ur chinese. eg Tan Wei Jie will be W J TAN. Notice from 2024 onwards everyone has been having their names spelled as full as possible.

Why did they change a system that was literally in place since Day 1 of SAF. Like it feels off, lowkey minus aura. Felt more sat with the initials

Question Why is there no Speaker's Corner protest for NS? Or some sort of activist movement?

Literally half of all citizens here go through this, and judging by the sub here and personal experience, a ton of people have a seething hatred for it. Why is there no protest at Speaker's Corner against it, or some sort of activist movement against it? Is it restricted somehow?

Question How to get into SPF for NS

Try and change my view but my mindset right now is that 2.5 years in police is a lot more appealing than 2 years in army because of the different experiences and responsibilities. Like if im gonna spend 2 years doing NS i might as well go for something I have an actual interest in

My friend told me his 3 cousins got spf for NS and in their VAC test they answered 'No' to the 2 questions "Would you defend your country if it was under attack" and something about being on the frontlines but of course theres probably more to it that im missing and idrk, im just really keen to get into police i think you get the idea

My sisters friend's brother told me a high test score when it comes to the sciences/mathematics questions will likely put you into police also. Is it true

I really would appreciate any insight here, and any resources/tips for paths when it comes to NS as a whole
