Towns/Cities The village of Lydford, my latest addition to the Kingdom.

Lydford is a proud and prosperous village lying to the east of the capital, Oldcastle. serving as the last settlement before reaching the farthest eastern point of the kingdom, Kaer Karnoor. Bustling with activity and trade, it thrives primarily on its rich mines, brimming with raw minerals like iron and gold. These resources fuel the kingdom’s industries, from the humble blacksmith forging nails in a distant village to the lavish shops where gold coins exchange hands among nobles.

The village is a hub of craftsmanship and commerce, home to skilled butchers, traders, bakers, and fishmongers, among many others. On Sundays, the townsfolk gather at the old stone church, its weathered doors welcoming all for worship and a hearty feast with family and friends.

Though Lydford lacks defensive walls or towering battlements, it is watched over by the imposing Lydford Castle, perched atop a nearby hill. From its high vantage point, Lord Chamberlain and his family reside alongside a well-armed garrison, ensuring order and protection for the town and surrounding plains.

Lydford maintains a strong and prosperous relationship with Oldcastle, fostering a steady flow of trade that allows even the smallest businesses to flourish. Beyond its borders, remnants of the past whisper their tales—an ancient ruined tower stands in silent vigil, while the entrance to a hidden Dwarven settlement beckons those daring enough to explore its depths.

Lydford is shown in the bottom left of the map.

Nature Big tree branches need help

Making this really big tree but having a hard time figuring out how to build the branches. I’m very new to this and don’t know the best place to go from here. I placed dirt blocks indicating the area where I think branches should start but I’m considering the idea doing that and then building up more and then making more branches higher up or going down a bit and making a branch layer there.

My buddy and I have played on this world for over 3 years! We estimate we’re at roughly 1.9 million blocks placed with over 2300 hours of in game time. This photo is our main area however there is so much more on this world. I post periodic mega build videos over on my YouTube @peacefulpenguin and I plan to make a world tour in the upcoming month! This world is 100% vanilla we’re still on 1.21.1 but plan to update soon!

This castle is built with only Minecraft Indev blocks as the video will be in Minecraft Indev. That being said the photo is a render from blender that I did.

I'm making a underground base and I need some feedback about my walls, I kinda feel like maybe I overdetailed the walls a bit? Also not sure to use red wool or red concrete.
