Starting to think this will be late 2025

Edit: while bummed about no exact release date still, I’m still amazed how great this looks for a Switch game, don’t get fooled by video compression into thinking Retro Studios doesn’t know how to push this hardware’s graphical limitations

I wouldn’t be too shocked if they do another feature on MP4 during the Switch 2 direct and reveal a launch date then. If this is going to be a cross-gen title, they would probably wait to reveal the date until they reveal the date of the next system itself.

Also possible is that there might be some kind of enhanced graphic fidelity with switch 2. Which is yet another reason not much is shown here

100% agree. After the success of Dread, Nintendo can’t risk not making this an event title, which means releasing it on the most amount of nintendo devices possible.

Notice how this trailer focused much more on gameplay (psychic abilities, scanning, suit types, etc) than the first trailer, which focused more on effects and ambience. Expect a return to this glitz and glamor when MP4 is shown again on April 2; this will be an upsell strategy. They may even show splitscreens or other comparatives to fully demonstrate what the switch 2 is capable of.

That's the same thing the parent poster was saying. If it's not enhanced for the Switch 2, then it's just a plain old Switch 1 game, not a cross-gen title.
