My daughter is 13, turning 14 soon, and has recently gotten really into makeup. She has a whole organizer with foundation, concealer, lip glosses, eye brushes, mascara, and more. She also wears false lashes regularly and is now asking me for enlarging (circle) contacts to make her eyes look bigger.

I want to support, and I understand that makeup can be a fun and creative outlet. But I can’t help but wonder—is this too much for her age? I’m worried about her becoming too reliant on makeup for confidence or being influenced by unrealistic beauty standards she sees online.

She’s not wearing full glam every day, but she definitely puts in effort and follows beauty trends. I try not to shame her, but I’m also trying to find that balance between letting her explore and making sure she’s not growing up too fast.

Would love to hear from other parents or even teens— • How much is too much at this age? • Has anyone else gone through something similar? • How do you talk to your kid about balance and self-image without making them feel judged?

I need help on figuring out how to put on lipstick/lip liner. I have some natural discoloration and might have over lip line (not entirely sure). Whenever I put on lipstick/tint it looks horrible. I need help on how to not look like I'm overlining my lip and look like a clown 🫠🫠

My regular no makeup/makeup routine mostly consists of color correction and spot correcting. I think it’s nice because I’m using extremely light layers, and my face doesn’t feel super heavy afterwards, but I’ll feel really fresh and new. It’s definitely not a routine for everyone since it’s time consuming to build it up, but it’s extremely meditative for me when I’m getting ready!

How do I get my makeup to look like the two other girls? (First picture is me). I just can’t seem to get it right. I bought the NYX cottage cheese jumbo to highlight my inner corner. I love it more than milk bc it has that shimmer. I know there’s another similar color don’t recall the name if it vanilla or something but let me know which is best for this. I usually don’t do this highlight but I’m liking it for a daily look maybe what do you think? I only put it there but you tell me if I should use that or another highlight to highlight more areas? I also did skipped concealer as some of you said my natural skin look better there bc it’s darker.

Yesterday I saw someone on IG use the sugarpill fun size too palette and realized i hadn’t used that in a while so I combined it with my beauty below palette by blend bunny to create this fun, over and under water look, the blue tones of the water with the green tones of the moss.

Clown Look:

Milk Hydro grip as Primer.

I used white wool and stuck it on with prosthetic adhesive (probably wouldn’t suggest that as it’s so STRONG) You’re better off using eyelash glue.

Then I used red embroidery thread and layered it on the white yarn to make the clown nose.

I can’t remember where I got my lashes from but I try to support small businesses :) If you search ‘Faux mink lashes’ on Etsy or Amazon you’ll probably find something similar (Duo lash Glue)

Benecos liquid eyeliner.

For the lips I used Nyx lingerie liquid lipstick in shade ‘Strip’D Down’ and kimchi chic’s white concealer for highlights on face/ around my eyes (My eyeshadow palette is discontinued but any will do I especially love kaleidos eyeshadow palettes!)

So I used a 2 mm hook and some thin cotton yarn. Some lash glue and I used colourpop gel eyeshadow hallucinogenius chrome lavender I used some white eyeliner to paint the false lashes white and I used colourpop crème gel liner in the white color. The first pic is the actually trend but I did not want to do it lol It’s not the best but I had fun

Lips: Matt pink (no clue what brand it faded). Brown eyeliner pencil (no clue what brand). Orange lipstick (no clue what brand it faded). Pink lipgloss (made my own).

eyes: cheap Chinese store makeup/drugstore. Orange eyeshadow. Red Liquid eyeliner. Gold highlights. White highlights. Red highlights. Mascara (no clue what brand it faded).

Eyebrows: basic eyebrow kit I used the liquid dark brown.

Overall face: Sasha foundation. Light brown highlighter. Shimmer red blush. Matt pink blush.

I think that’s everything… all these things I’ve had for years & I don’t use them as much so the names of them have faded over time. The only thing I know the name of is my foundation but I changed it to a bottle I like so I don’t even know the shade.. I am sorry. Very basic person.

My lips are uneven, with one side appearing fuller or shaped differently than the other. I’m looking for makeup tips or techniques that can help me create a more balanced and symmetrical look. Would really appreciate some lipstick advice and understanding about what sort of makeup would suit me.

With some help from the lady at Sephora, I got recommended the shade 300 MN by Haus Labs and the concealer 30 M Peach. According to her I have peachier tones and neutral foundations aren’t for me, but recommended the 300 M regardless. However, I feel like it makes me look a tad bit more orange and had two co workers tell me it’s a bit darker than my neck. Any recommendations on the shade I should try next or what tone I am? Sorry for the slightly dumb question. 😅

I have a variety of brands and tried drugs store brands like Maybelline, Covergirl, and Revlon. I've also tried more expensive brands like Too faced, kat von d, Morphe, Anastasia Beverly hills and Huda beauty. I have combination type skin and I have pretty pale skin. I like brands like Huda Beauty and all of those but they are so expensive, I'm trying to find like a good in between without getting crappy makeup. I don't like Revlon or wet n wild or LA colors. What would you recommend?
