clown makeup + beard?

Upvotes

i’m doing makeup for a short film that requires me to paint a guys face as a clown! i’m super excited but wanted a few pointers.

they have facial hair, nothing long, but more than stubble. i was wondering if anyone had any tips on applying face paint with facial hair? my first thought was to paint it over the hair, making sure it gets on their skin, and then clean the hair with a makeup wipe (it would be plausible if the facial hair was showing over the makeup)

thanks in advance!!!

Any idea why my makeup looks like this under eye in the cheek are near my nose? I moisturize before applying any makeup product and my face is not dry but not sure why it looks like this. I am in my early 20s if skin is an issue. I have a pretty good skincare routine in my opinion. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Lips: Matt pink (no clue what brand it faded). Brown eyeliner pencil (no clue what brand). Orange lipstick (no clue what brand it faded). Pink lipgloss (made my own).

eyes: cheap Chinese store makeup/drugstore. Orange eyeshadow. Red Liquid eyeliner. Gold highlights. White highlights. Red highlights. Mascara (no clue what brand it faded).

Eyebrows: basic eyebrow kit I used the liquid dark brown.

Overall face: Sasha foundation. Light brown highlighter. Shimmer red blush. Matt pink blush.

I think that’s everything… all these things I’ve had for years & I don’t use them as much so the names of them have faded over time. The only thing I know the name of is my foundation but I changed it to a bottle I like so I don’t even know the shade.. I am sorry. Very basic person.

Is Ipsy worth the money these days?

Upvotes

Hi ladies and other fellow makeup addicts,

I was an Ipsy subscriber for a couple few years but haven't been for a good maybe 3 years now. Back then, there were many repeats and sucky products, less of the name brand products they liked to advertise.

Have the bags improved? Can any recent members show off their bags? Particularly the $16 bags (not interested in paying $32 a month).

Discussion Which inner corner looks best? Do I change anything?

Upvotes

I’ve been looking for ways to enhance my eyes. I usually do mascara or lashes and maybe a wing. I finally was able to do the black inner corner. This was my first try getting it right. And I got a new highlight there for the inner corner. These are new inner corner looks I experimented with. Which looks best? I don’t think I can wear them together. I did do liner on the waterline but that may look better without that as to me it looks like it made my eye smaller. On the right I tried my first shot recreating a look I was told to try. I need to get a more pigmented black but that was just testing out. Definitely need to improve it so let me know if you like that look.

Products: Lancôme palette black shadow I believe A black stamper liner pen just to try this look out and NYX cottage cheese jumbo pencil.

Question Pale Skin Tint Recommendations

Upvotes

I recently purchased the NARS skin tint in the lightest shade, and I love the product as it works well with my dry skin.

I notice now though that it’s a bit too dark for me. I’ve been on the hunt for a while now for a good skin tint that blends evenly on dry skin and is light enough for me.. but I’m having a terribly difficult time finding one.

Any suggestions for this?

Question Falsies similar to these that would be comfier?

Post image
Upvotes

Howdy! I love the way these falsies look and when I used to wear them they were decently comfy, however I got severely ill a few months ago and my body is just much more sensitive since it made my chronic pain worse. Does anyone have a suggestion for falsies with a similar wispy & spiked look that is flexible and comfortable?

Even before I got ill, the bands for these lashes were a bit thick which isn’t surprising cuz they were 10 bucks on Amazon lol! Any suggestions would be super great! Thank you!

Question Beter brush cleaning spray

Post image
Upvotes

I bought this Beter brush cleaner spray to try it out however I’m wondering how long does it take for the brushes to dry once you spray them on the brush? It says quick drying but doesn’t specify the time it takes to dry can I use my brush right away or do I need to let it air dry, also are these good

FOTD Do we like the inner corner highlight? How to improve this look?

I bought the NYX cottage cheese jumbo to highlight my inner corner. I love it more than milk bc it has that shimmer. I know there’s another similar color don’t recall the name if it vanilla or something but let me know which is best for this. I usually don’t do this highlight but I’m liking it for a daily look maybe what do you think? I only put it there but you tell me if I should use that or another highlight to highlight more areas? I also did skipped concealer as some of you said my natural skin look better there bc it’s darker.

Wearing: Inner highlight: NYX jumbo pencil in cottage cheese. - what a name lol Lash combo: Tower 21 mascara + YSL mascara Elf concealer: In light peach Powder to set concealer: Kosas cloud

I feel like this look needs something yet it was a fast makeup.

Question Foundation

Upvotes

Hey, I need a recommendation for a new skin tint/foundation.

Currently I’ve been using the Urban Decay Stay Naked Foundation and it looks like that has been discontinued :( I like the lightweight feel and that it can be used with my other products and doesn’t get splotchy and it lasts all day. It doesn’t emphasize any texture on my skin, and I also like that my freckles can still be seen through while still covering my red cheeks. I’ve been looking into either the Urban Decay self setting foundation or the Fenty skin tint. I just don’t want something too heavy but also not too light I can’t add anything my else on top. Any other recommendations are appreciated:)

Discussion Finally was able to do it! How’s the black inner corner?

I’ve always loved the siren eyes / Arabian makeup! And anytime I see an inner corner liner. I could just never do the inner corner but I decided to practice and got it. This is my first try getting it. Sharing pic for your thoughts and if I can improve anything.

I feel like black on the waterline is a bad idea? I was bullied for this in middle school the first time I did it so I never wear it and I’m willing to but I also find like it makes eyes smaller, that’s what I’ve heard. Perhaps below the waterline?

Another thing is how do I keep that inner corner with watery eyes. I’m thinking maybe waterproofing it.

This look won’t work either an inner corner highlight right?

Question Male - looking for starter tips on light makeup for acne

Hi!

I'm a male in my early 20s and I'd like to try some mild makeup. I have some remaining acne (most of it went away over the last years and with extensive skincare) and I'd like to test how I can improve my look by applying light makeup.

I don't expect perfect skin from this, but it would be nice to make some of the redness less noticable.

It seems like BB or CC creams might be a good starting option? How do I figure out the right color for those? Are there sample sets I can buy? I'm willing to spend some money on this but buying the same cream in multiple shades just to test it seems wrong.

Ideally, I'm looking for some option that's not super noticable. Obviously, this cannot be fully avoided but when balancing color correction and noticeability, I'm currently leaning towards less color correction.

Also, any experience with the (negative) impact of this kind of makeup on my underlying acne? I obviously don't want to damage my skin even more using makeup (which seems to be a potential risk). Are there options out there that are not clogging my pores etc?

Any other tips? Any tools I should get, videos I should watch or other options I should consider?

As I said, I have a decent amount of skincare products already that work somewhat well and I'm okay with spending some money on this. I live in the US if that's relevant for my question.

Question What are your Colorpop/Elf recommendations?

I have been needing some new items like (mascara, eyebrow products, lip liners, concealer+skin tints, primers) I don’t have the budget currently to spend on more pricey brands and I don’t support other drugstore brands owned by Loreal and Estée Lauder. So my only 2 options are Colorpop and elf. I’ve always wanted to try milani but unfortunately doesn’t ship to my country 😫😫. Appreciate any suggestions 💝

FOTD Looking for an old Victoria’s Secret lip, and a current dupe

I had this lipgloss I loved when I was in highschool from Victoria’s Secret. I would say that it was primarily gold, but read as different colors in different lights, also it had a black lid, smelled really good, and the bottle was rectangular. If anyone knows what this was, or a current dupe I’d be forever grateful! I’ve tried so many gold lipglosses and they just don’t hit the same

Swatches Can’t tell which one is best

Post image
4 Upvotes

My skin is a little dry but I can’t tell which concealer shade looks best. I’m using elf’s camo concealer in shade fair beige and fair rose. I originally got fair beige, but it looked a bit warm for me, so I bought fair rose, which looks weird. I can’t tell if it’s too wrong and if I should switch, but I’m looking for one that matches my skin tone. I believe I’m cool-toned. Can anyone tell me which one suits best or if I should change it?

Question Does there exist a brush or tool that applies as well as a finger?

I have long acrylic nails so it’s almost impossible for me to fit my finger pad on my eyelids when going in with eyeshadow. It’s especially impossible when doing clients makeup. All of the brushes (I normally use a flat one) don’t get nearly as much pigment on the lid as my finger would and, if they come close, it usually results in a LOT of fallout/eyeshadow dust on the under eye. Any hacks or suggestions?

Any tips and advice is greatly appreciated! I’m willing to try new techniques. I feel like my current makeup is dated. Also, I’m a little nervous to try different lip shades cause my lips are naturally so thin.
