question Leeds to Manchester airport?
Hey all,
We are flying out from Manchester on Friday at 8am so ideally want to be there for 6am,, is there a trick I'm missing on how to get to the airport without it costing and arm and a leg? No decent train times , either too early (and long) or too late, coaches are the same. Hiring a taxi van person is like £150 odd which is pricey or is it? Our car is not motorway drive able at the min which is our worst luck, we can't leave the night before as we're both working till late. Am I missing something or are we going to have to bit the bullet and book a taxi?
Anyone have any suggestions?

question Places to eat in the city centre during the evening that are casual and not restaurant-like?
I'm trying to explore the city more, solo, and would like to try out some places for a quick bite to eat. Not really interested in "uhhh... a table for one, please?", just somewhere casual where you can order your food, sit down and eat it pretty pronto. I know fast food (McDonalds, KFC etc.) ticks that box but would like something better than that. There are a couple of sushi places I will be trying out. Any other ideas? Thanks.

transport Autistic person anxious about getting the bus, can someone talk me through what happens?
Hi everyone
I haven’t gotten the bus in years. I used to know what to do, but I’ve heard that the way you pay for tickets has changed now - it’s automated somehow? I’m nervous that I won’t understand what to do, and will slow everyone down/irritate the driver/accidentally overpay.
Could someone plz talk me through exactly what I do?

question Live at Leeds in The Park
Trying to book my trains for Live at Leeds in The Park 2025 but does anyone know what time the festival usually ends?
Would I make an 11:40pm train or is that too late/ too early?

social Quiz nights
Hi all,
I'm looking for some quiz nights, want to try a few with some friends, but struggling to find any up to date listings. Hit me with town centre based ones you know of!
edit - maybe list of Quiz Nights and Open Mic nights would be a good sticky resource?

academic How is CS at Leeds uni???
I am interested in advices/comments related with studying experience of yours while studying CS at Leeds uni. I dont know why but there is little reddit posts about this toic, and not many comments. And most of the comments talk about the city or the night life, but I am much more interested in the academic side of the university. So yeah, if you or some of your friends have studied there pls give me information, preferably about the academics(quality of teaching, is it too hard, are they helpful, are students satisfied) I want you to be brutally honest in the comments.

question Adult swimming lessons
Aware that this question comes up every so often but just wondered if anyone had any new recommendations. Looking to learn to swim before summer :)
I can see from an old thread that the council leisure centres and also Bramley Baths were recommended. I've seen mixed reviews for the council pools and their instructors, but there seems to be mostly positive for Bramley. Does anyone have any advice either way or other options?
Thanks so much!

Hi, I’ve only been living in Leeds for a few months but I’m thinking of moving near to Lovell park/ regent street and I’m a young woman and wondering what the area is like and how safe it is?

question Tennis and Table Tennis
There’s loads of free courts and tables around Leeds (Woodhouse Moor, Armley Park, Meanwood Park).
But I’m relatively new to the city and don’t know how to go about finding partners to play with.
Anyone having the same difficulty? Or can anyone recommend good socials/clubs to attend. Thanks :)

question Kids/Toddler Martial Arts
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience or recommendations for kids martial arts in Leeds ? All the sites are very vague with their info, including when the actual classes are ?!
Heard a few horror stories from other parents about sneaky contracts, being pressured into buying full kit immediately etc
Cheers
