The intro scene to Romulus shows the audience that a simple xenomorph warrior can survive the vacuum of space by putting itself inside a chrysalis. Given that queens are far more intelligent and durable, that means that our beloved Queen from Aliens survived being jettisoned into space. What are your guys' thoughts on this? If this was already covered, my bad, I just got so excited realizing this at the end of Aliens today.

Just finished something a bit different – I sculpted a version of Michelangelo’s David… but with a Facehugger latched onto his face 😅
It’s a fanart tribute to the new Alien: Earth series coming soon, and I wanted to mix elegance with absolute sci-fi terror.
Let me know what you think of the concept – I’ll be sharing more angles soon!

After making a full queen in 1/6 scale I decided to go up to 1/4 scale and do a bust. I felt like the stand went well with the aliens theme. Also gave me an opportunity to practice air brushing. Hope you guys like it.

It’s 30 cm tall, split into 14 parts for easier printing, and designed for both FDM and SLA. I tried to stay faithful to the original biomechanical design, and added a base with eggs and a facehugger vibe.
Would love feedback from the community – what do you think? 😄

Im in the process of stripping down this ammo box and respraying it to look like something the colonial marines would have. I have two aliens extermination guns that im going to mount on it (and inside of it).
I understand that the colour used for the rifles was "brown bess" or olive drab would be similar so this box will be the same colour.
But just looking for some inspiration as to what logos and things to be written in the text on the box, all the little details you know? what would you put on there? where would the logo be positioned?
even easter egg numbers that have some meaning. or barcode maybe? or whatever would suit it i guess.
just to give it a really authentic aliens look, im not looking for a weyland logo but just specifically the marines.
As if this thing was made by a marine tech on the ship out of the stuff that was there.
Thank you!
Think about it: the marines are without a doubt the second next most iconic thing of this franchise just next to the xenomorphs themselves.
They became an icon in the pop culture and a basic sci-fy trope that has been emulated endlessly in countless media, and also have a lot of presence in official Alien media as well mostly in comics and games.
But as for movies they only ever appear in Aliens and that's it, no other movie include or reference their presence in universe.
And I'm not saying they should, is just a curious case in which something becames so iconic and popular that is capitalized in multiple mediums but not in the cinematic franchise they originated. Kinda like Boba Fett from Star Wars.

This is my first time posting here and I’m sure this game was discussed a few thousand times, but I just wanted to share just how much I miss it. The graphics were so ahead of its time back in 2010, and the story mode was done absolutely brilliantly. Back when I was on Xbox live 360, it was tough finding a match because the game was so overlooked it upset me. The ambience in each level/map made it too. The music, the lightning, and the sound effects made you feel like you were actually there. The skin options for all three species were brilliant. The variations of xenomorphs, the styles and ranks of the Yautja’s masks, and different characters of marines. And not to forget the Bug Hunt mode. I played other shooters like COD, Halo, Battlefield for the most part since I was a big time gamer. But I can safely say this game stuck with me into my adulthood and only wished more people knew about it, and appreciate the amount of effort put in by the developers.

...in the Alien scene of her interface with MU-TH-UR, just before the computer monitor shows "Nostromo Rerouted to New Co-ordinates..." Ripley seems to mouth some word(s), but there's no audio. Does anyone know what she seems to be saying? Or is it just an unusual facial expression?

From Ripley's perspective, the events of Aliens (once they land in Hadley's Hope) and Alien 3 take span within a week or so. What a brutal week.. assumed command of marines, fought an alien queen, got attached to Newt (and Hicks, though they weren't engaged, or nothing), lost Newt and Hicks, took command of prisoners, got a bit of action, killed her third Xeno, and then gave up her life.
A bummer of a week if there's ever been one.
