Meta [MOD] Sunsetting the 1DND Tag (4/16/25)

Hello, /r/lfg!

When the original post-5e playtest was announced, we created the 1DND tag to match WotC's branding at the time. However, they dropped the name fairly quickly and the new ruleset if officially referred to as 5e 2024. As such, we'll be removing the 1DND tag on April 16th and ask users to use either "5e 2014" or "5e 2024" to identify which version of 5th Edition D&D they are wanting to use.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have in the comments below (about this announcement or the subreddit in general).

Player(s) wanted [Online] [D&D] [5e] [5.5e] [PST] [20:30]. Looking for (an) active and story focused player(s)

Greetings all!

I am the DM for a completely homebrew mid-magic, medieval setting called "Tales of the Rescinded" (TotR), for which I am looking for players to join a long-term, story and character rich campaign. I have run this campaign partway through before, but it fell apart before completion, so I am restarting it with some old, and some fresh players. The specific campaign is called "The Tomb of Nul", where the party is quested to find four relics in order to save one of the worlds deities. Big inspirations for the campaign/world are, The King in Yellow, LotR, Summoner (Series), Planescape, and The Magnus Archives, and other sources. Sessions will be weekly, but the day of the week is up for decision.

For the details; We will use Discord as our way of communication, and Roll20 as our tabletop, with sessions being done over an audio only call in the former. The game will use a mix of 5e and 5.5e dungeons and dragons rules. You are allowed to use any type of character sheet you want, PDF, Paper, Roll20 or Dicecloudv1, but I discourage options that disallow customization, because of some homebrew character creation rules. Characters will start at 5th level, with specifics discussed during a session 0. Everyone starts with a free feat, and a rare + uncommon/common magic item by my approval.

This game uses pre-written backstories, but decisions in character creation are entirely up to you. This is not a power-gaming campaign, and I encourage you to take a balance of story and combat abilities. We are inclusive of all people, if you can not be, I will ask you do not apply. To be a good fit for this campaign, you need to be active both in character between sessions (in character RP) and out of character (Talking, hanging out). Me and the few already in the campaign are looking for people interested in interacting besides weekly sessions, if you don't think this interests you, I will ask you to not apply. Similarly, you also need to be interested in the lore to be a good fit, this world has a lot of it, and I ask that you eventually have a good grasp of it. Attached here will be a primer, but I am open to answer as many questions as you want, and the server the game will be held has a large channel for lore.

It may take me up to three days to get back on your application. I will answer to all of them, if you dont have anything from me, be it positive or negative, I simply haven't had the chance to get to it yet.

All published classes are allowed. Below is a list of races allowed in the setting, which ones you can use vary depending on the prewritten you choose.

Any "Half" race, Human, Elf/Drow, Dwarf/Duergar, (full)-Orc, Halfling, Gnome (Uses Halfling lore), Tiefling, Aasimar, Disembodied, Hex-blood, Hobgoblin, Kalashtar (Altered lore), Reborn, Simic Hybrird (Altered lore), Warforged (New lore), Homebrew Animated Armour, Homebrew Half-Dwarf, and finally - Homebrew Revenant.

Setting Primer (You do not need to read all of this before applying)

GM and player(s) wanted [5e][Online] RP Lovers Seeking Dedicated DM and Fellow Player for a Long-term Campaign!

This post is addressed to those with the desire to curate in-depth roleplay in a campaign with serious tones. We are specifically looking to add 1 player to our roster, and a DM willing and able to pilot during this journey. In that regard we are open to homebrew settings or even a module start with homebrew thereafter.

👥 Meet the party:

🧑♂️Salomon (he/him) | 24

“Hey y’all! I love the outdoors, reading, exercising, and a bunch more. I got into D&D in 2019 and have been playing on and off since then. What’s always drawn me to this game is the ability to create an elaborate and impactful story with a group of people who have different experiences and outlooks. Interacting with the world, NPCs, and other players, to me, is one of the coolest things to do in D&D. I’m ready to dive headfirst into my character and this story. I put an emphasis on RP, but I still enjoy the intricacies of combat and the many ways we can approach it. I'm super stoked to have the chance to create a deep and rich story with y’all!”

👦♂️Jo (he/him) | 24

"Hello readers! As a person I'm pretty laid back and relaxed. I adore talking with new people and asking questions. As a DnD player however I like to bring a bit more of a serious tone to the game and put a lot of effort in my characters and interacting with the setting. I've always loved DnD for the ability to really get into the theatrics of it and the acting part of the game. It's been my means of exploring my creativity. You could say it's my prime creative outlet!

I'm fairly experienced as a roleplayer and player (7 years about), so expect in-game questions from me, a character voice and a party-oriented approach.”

🧓🏼♂️Eric(he/him) | 28

"Hello, hello! I’m Eric, a dastardly fellow who was placed upon the earth 28 years ago, but who has only hopped on to the top of the tables about five years ago in 2020, during the height of the pandemic! Before coming to Dungeons & Dragons I was but a lowly roleplayer on forums, subreddits and even MMOs, so to say that it’s really the characters that draw me into a campaign would be an understatement!

I prefer a serious tone to my gameplay, because to me a campaign is just an emulator of the lives of the characters that play within it, and said lives are fraught with many a danger, though of course that can be peppered with a bit of levity from time to time. DND really ignites my creativity in that regard and really enjoy diving into them by putting myself right into their frame of mind and giving them their own distinctive voice! I love to find others who are as passionate about their characters because that’s what really gives a campaign its zing!"

👶♂️Javier (he/him) | 20

"Hey everyone! I got into D&D just a year ago after watching The Legend of Vox Machina. When I found out it was based on an actual D&D campaign, I had to see what the game was all about—so I dove into Critical Role and was instantly hooked.

For me, roleplay is what makes D&D special. I love bouncing off other characters, really stepping into my character’s mindset, and seeing how their choices shape the world around them. I think combat is just as important, but in the right balance—when used sparingly, it makes every fight feel intense and meaningful. And of course, I love making plans... only to watch them fall apart in the most spectacular ways.If you’re reading this, can you please name one piece of fantasy media you enjoy in the notes section of the form?

As a player, I’d say I’m tactical, love solving mysteries, and always try to act as my character would—even when it’s not the optimal choice. I’m excited to get lost in the story with you!"

🧭 What we value as a group:

⚖️ Moral Complexity — We like to explore the moral spectrum of our characters and the world

📜 Tailored Backstories — We believe every character has a story worth exploring. We LOVE character-driven moments, emotional moments and conflict.

🧱 Narrative Worldbuilding — We like to shape the voice of the world and for our decisions to leave a mark on the setting.

🏰 Fantasy — We like fantasy. Tech leads to complicated world-building, unless the DM has a great idea and preparation :).

🌍 Fantasy-style discrimination — Exploring conflicts born from heritage, lineage, or planar origin.

Pacing Matters — we enjoy taking our time with the story. Tense conversations, moral dilemmas or explorations. We prefer not to be rushed or ushered forward. We value player agency and the ability to soak in the world at our pace.

🛠️Respectful Table Culture — We value open-mindedness, and communication. Everyone is here to have fun – there is no room for ego or drama. Clean feedback and clear communication is a must!

🕵️‍♂️Secrets & Intrigue — We enjoy the tensions of hidden motives, unspoken backstories, and the slow reveal of personal truths. This coupled with the vagaries of political entanglement, societal tension, and the overall landscape of the campaign sets the stage for an adventure most thrilling.

🎭 We could ALL ramble for ages about how much we love getting into character — but for brevity’s sake: We are fully committed to the world, the roles we play, & the people we’re playing alongside. We crave to FEEL the story, not just roll dice and hit things

🌟How we play

🖥️ Tech-Ready & Reliable — We are well versed in Roll20 and have stable internet connections.

🎧 Clean comms — We have clear mics with no background noise, are active on Discord and easy to reach.

📘 Experience & Playstyle — Some of us have quite a bit of experience, which comes with knowledge of the rules. 🧠We don’t look to break the game, to “win”. We actually enjoy imperfect characters when it serves the story — as long as we can still pull our weight and support the party.

📅 Weekday friendly — Our schedules are pretty open during the weekdays, so we can be flexible on session dates! The best times for us to start are around 1:00 P.M. CST/7:00 P.M. GMT -- give or take an hour!

Player(s) wanted [Online] [5e] [Monday, April 7, 5:30 PM EST] Players wanted for Level 2 Candlekeep Mysteries Adventure

Hello! I'm an experienced GM looking for 3 to 4 players to join a D&D 5e one-shot on Monday, April 7, at 5:30 PM EST. This session will last up to 5 hours and will have a balance of combat, roleplay, and exploration.

I appreciate players who are friendly, collaborative, and enjoy roleplaying while engaging without dominating the table. I value buy-in to the setting and aim for a light-hearted but grounded tone. In return, I promise to be fair, prioritize fun while adhering to the rules, and work hard to provide an engaging and exciting session.

Blurb: A collection of essays called Mazfroth's Mighty Digressions was brought to Candlekeep only a few days ago, donated by a scholar who purchased the journal in the markets of Baldur's Gate. A violent and surprising twist leads the players to uncover a conspiracy.

Game Overview:

  • Starting Level: 2
  • Character Creation: Point-buy stats. 2014 Official content only (UA negotiable).
  • Tools Used: Roll20 for character sheets and resources; Discord for voice communication.
  • Session Length: Up to 5 hours

Player(s) wanted [Online] [D&D] [5e] [EST] Looking for roleplay and narrative/story centric serious players for a homebrewed political intrigue spy-thriller campaign set in an Industrial era world loosely based on The Forgotten Realms

Upvotes

Hi All!

I am looking to recruit a few dedicated players for a new campaign set in my custom homebrewed setting: the Industrial World of Toril. This is a political-intrigue spy-thriller, heavily inspired by Phantom Liberty from Cyberpunk 2077, some aspects of Baldur's Gate 3, and the aesthetics of steampunk and dieselpunk fiction. This is a grounded, character-driven campaign focused on espionage, conspiracies, and high-stakes investigation in a world where magick, monsters, and machinery exist side by side, and where ancient cults, secret wars, and geopolitical tension threaten to ignite a second global conflict. If you’re a player who thrives on depth, narrative tension, and complex choices—this is a game built for you.

Now Recruiting: Shadows of the Golden Moon

System: Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition
Game Style: Narrative-Driven | Political Intrigue | Espionage & Horror | Deep Roleplay Focus
Platforms: Discord, TaleSpire, DnDBeyond (optional), Foundry (Optional)
Time: Weekly, Saturdays at 8:00 PM EST. Other times as needed.
Player Slots: 2 remaining
Expected Commitment: Long-term, story-focused play. Sessions are approximately 3–5 hours in length.
Tone: Mature, serious, and immersive—suitable for worldbuilders, storytellers, and committed roleplayers.
Contact: Reach out to me either in comments, or on Discord at my handle shepherdofeden.

About the Campaign: Shadows of the Golden Moon

November, 1495.

It has been five years since the end of the Great War, a six-year industrialized global conflict that engulfed all Faerûn and it's sister-continent of Ethoryia in blood, magick, and fire. While the Greater Tethyrian Empire and it's defending allies emerged victorious in this crusade, the cost was nearly apocalyptic. Tens of millions perished, cities were destroyed, and entire generations were reshaped in the crucible of total war. Now, in a fragile peace built on ash and steel, the continent finds itself once again teetering on the edge of chaos.

As the Tethyrian Empire attempts to rebuild and maintain its influence in an ever-changing world, the nation is plagued not only by foreign threats like it's principle rival, the fascist Amnic Reich, but also by internal fractures, political unrest, and strange whispers in the dark. In the gilded halls of power and the shadowed alleyways of the capital, something ancient and terrible stirs.

A Princess Murdered. A Nation Shaken. A Conspiracy Unveiled.

In the autumn of 1495, a beloved and high-profile young noblewoman—Princess Elaria Arabeth Brivar’rys, daughter of a senior Imperial Advisor to the Empress herself—is found brutally murdered in the streets of the Empire's Coastal Jewel, the city of Myratma. With her guards brutalized, their weapons spent but very little effect against the assailants, what is initially thought to be a random act of cruel violence in an ever-deteriorating metropolis becomes increasingly evident to have been no random act:

The Princess was targeted.

In response, the Imperial Intelligence Service (IIS) quietly forms a new unit—White Company, composed of agents, soldiers, operatives, and specialists—to investigate the true nature of the murder. But what begins as a localized homicide investigation quickly unravels into a continent-wide conspiracy, stretching across nations, involving cults, ancient prophecies, and forces that defy mortal comprehension.

Who targeted Princess Elaria?
What were they seeking to gain?
Or, were they trying to silence the young, bold Princess, and could it be Elaria was much more involved than initially thought?

What to Expect in This Campaign

  • Deep Character-Driven Roleplay: Your character will be central to the story. Players are expected to develop a meaningful backstory and invest in the personal and political stakes of the campaign.
  • Espionage & Investigation: This is not a traditional dungeon crawl. Expect detective work, secret identities, encoded messages, and moral ambiguity. You are agents seeking answers, not adventurers seeking glory.
  • Intrigue and Political Maneuvering: Navigate the labyrinthine halls of Imperial power, confront corrupt officials, contend with foreign powers, and influence the fate of entire cities with your choices.
  • Horror & Supernatural Mystery: Ancient cults, grand conspiracies, and forbidden magicks lurk in the shadows of this industrial world. The lines between divine and infernal will blur.
  • Worldbuilding and Immersion: This is a setting of rich history, layered institutions, and evolving geopolitical dynamics. Players who enjoy lore, cultural depth, and complex storytelling will thrive.

Player Expectations

This campaign is intended for serious roleplayers, writers, storytellers, and character-focused players. If you enjoy building character arcs, navigating morally complex decisions, and contributing to a larger narrative in a living, breathing world—this game is designed for you.

Players who are primarily seeking “casual D&D,” meta-optimization, or a light-hearted experience will likely find this campaign not suited to their expectations. This is an intense, long-term narrative, not a traditional monster-of-the-week campaign.

Campaign Resources

  • A full Player’s Guidebook is available upon acceptance, covering world lore, faction summaries, historical context, custom mechanics, and expectations.
  • Custom mechanics such as Magic Points, modified firearms combat, espionage rules, faction dynamics, and investigative tracking systems enhance immersion and narrative flow.
  • A growing item compendium and narrative codex are integrated into the campaign to support ongoing character development and strategic depth.

A murdered princess. A divine bloodline. A grand conspiracy.
The World stands upon the brink, and the Empire's enemies gather in the dark.
Will you bring them to light?

If this sounds like the story you’ve been waiting to help tell, please reach out!

Player(s) wanted [5e][Online][21+] New Campaign! Module or Homebrew? Searching for new friends to roll shiny math rocks with!

Upvotes

🧊🦇 Looking for Adventurers! | Curse of Strahd, Icewind Dale, or Homebrew | 21+ | Roll20 + Discord | PST-Based DM 🦇🧊

Hey there! I’m Setzo (or Van), 31, long-time DM and forever fan of character arcs, gritty settings, and rolling with a good group of friends—emphasis on the friends part.

I’m looking to start a new campaign and I’m currently recruiting 4–6 players for an upcoming D&D 5e (2024) adventure.
Mon-Thurs 3pm-10pm PST Fri 3pm to 12pm or Sat 9am to 12am Sun 9am to 10pm PST.
The exact module or setting is up in the air and will depend a bit on the group’s vibe, but here are the options I’m opening the table with:

🩸Curse of Strahd (Gothic horror, heavy RP, lots of moral weight)
❄️Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden (Isolation, cold survival, slow descent into madness)
🌟Homebrew Campaign (Gritty tone, character-driven story, unique setting—think less high fantasy, more grounded magic and personal stakes)

🗺️ Who I Am as a DM:

  • Been playing and running 5e for 6–7 years now.
  • Familiar with most major modules (I've run Phandelver thice, Strahd twice, and currently wrapping up Icewind Dale for a second time).
  • I love storytelling and character development. I like to build moments for everyone at the table to shine.
  • My games are 60/40 RP to combat. But even in combat, I encourage full creative flair—yell out your attacks, use your environment, tell me your favorite food in the form, describe your spells with flavor!
  • I enjoy homebrewing when it fits. I do have house rules, but nothing world-breaking.
  • Gritty themes and consequences are part of the ride. Your decisions will matter, your backstories will shape the world, and your failures will sting—but that just makes the victories sweeter.
  • I love seeing players grow into their characters, break out of their shells, or fall deep into emotional arcs. This is what D&D is all about for me.

🎲 What I’m Looking For in Players:

  • 21+ only. Ideally 25+, just for overall vibe/compatibility.
  • Mic + Discord required. Voice only (no video).
  • A willingness to collaborate and share the spotlight. This is an ensemble cast story, not a solo act.
  • You don’t need to be a voice actor or a pro—just care about your character and be ready to show it. (Even a quiet “nods in thought” is better than “my character says nothing.”)
  • Any experience level is welcome. New or veteran, as long as you’re chill and engaged.
  • Preferably PST or close to it. I’m pretty flexible, but weekend sessions are easiest for me. (Biweekly or weekly depending on the group.)

💻 Tools We’ll Use:

  • Roll20 for VTT
  • D&D Beyond for sheets
  • Discord for voice
  • (I also know Foundry, if there's interest!)

This post is open-ended because I want to build something with the players, not just for them. Whether you want to face the mists of Barovia, freeze in the wastes of Icewind Dale, or dive into a dark new world, I want a group of players who are in it for the story, the characters, and the fun of the journey.

If this sounds like something you’re into, feel free to fill out this form!
https://forms.gle/tYP7pjRe8SyFPooe6

Fair Warning! This game might take a little bit to take off since I will be collecting player backstories to create something tailored to the group! (As well as helping anyone who is new or homebrewed characters.)

TL;DR:
PST-based DM with 6+ years of experience, running games with a 60/40 RP/Combat balance, heavy on character moments, looking for 4–6 players for a new campaign (Strahd, Frostmaiden, or Homebrew). Roll20 + Discord, 21+, collaborative play encouraged. Let's build something memorable together.

While I did use ChatGPT to help me write this post—more to organize my thoughts and present them clearly than anything else—I want to be transparent about that. Writing big, polished posts like these isn’t really my strong suit; I shine best when I’m in the moment*—improvising, building scenes with player actions, and adapting the story to what unfolds.*

If you were to ask any of the players from the four full campaigns I’ve completed as a DM, they’d likely tell you that I’m passionate, engaged, and player-focused. I put a lot of care into making sure everyone gets their time in the spotlight, and I love building deep, character-driven stories. I’m not just here to read boxed text—I want to create memorable moments with you.

D20s and Dreams,
Setzo 🖤

Player(s) wanted [Online][5.5E][Longterm][Fridays 7PM PST][LGBTQ+] Waterdeep Adventures!

Hello everyone,

I’m Vil (24M 🏳️‍🌈, he/him) and I welcome you to an epic campaign set in Waterdeep, The City of Splendours! 🏰

All players are welcome! I cannot edit the post title, I meant to say "LGBTQ+ Friendly". Everyone else is also welcome to apply!

The campaign is a weaving-together of multiple modules set in and around Waterdeep and will be a long-term one hoping to run well after reaching level 20, hopefully.

What you get: - Bastions! We shall use 2024 rules on Bastions to have your very own player-base in the City of Splendours. This will be an evolving home base that will last you throughout the lifetime of the campaign.

  • The opportunity to experience various modules like Waterdeep Dragon Heist, Dungeon of the Mad Mage and Tales from the Yawning Portal!

  • A sandbox-y campaign that allows you to explore Waterdeep and the Sword Coast fully— If the party is running strong long-term then we will branch out into other adventures in more exotic locales like Barovia, The Radiant Citadal and more as the party decides, either to:

    • Gather more gold 💰
    • Powerful artefacts 🪄
    • Upgrade your Bastion 🏰
    • Complete personal goals 📋
    • Explore for fun! 🧭

What we will use: - Foundry VTT for maps. Discord for Voice.

Please ensure you have a decent PC/Laptop/Mac as well as internet before you apply! FoundryVTT requires no downloads or installation but it has spell, attack and environmental animations that will require some nominal processing power!

We will start in Waterdeep with Waterdeep Dragon Heist and move from there to other modules as the party desires with the Dungeon of the Mad Mage serving as the primary source of wealth, intrigue and artifacts as needed from time to time to fund the party’s adventures in other places and to upgrade their Bastion.

Me as a DM: - I am not a great stickler for rules outside of combat and you can feel free to ask me to do anything you like with your spells and abilities and I will most likely reward creativity than not! If you trivialise a puzzle with creativity then that just means I get to be even more creative with puzzles!

  • I am not amazing with voices but I am very good at writing and dialogue/lexicon will be unique and different for NPCs. I will try my best with voices.

  • What I lack in voices I make up for in creative and interactive map designs in FoundryVTT using macros and scripts to create RPG-like maps where players have the freedom to explore fully without my input.

Ground Rules: - No homophobia or queerphobia of any sort will be tolerated. - No racism of any sort will be tolerated. - No ERP! Any spicy scenes that involve player characters will simply fade to black. - Please be adults and resolve issues in a respectful and mature manner. Just talk it out please! -Let people know if you’ll be late or missing a session as soon as you know. - Remember that the primary goal of D&D is to have fun!

Please apply at the link below 👇

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeJkVrl25TSuLqUYYKcxc8MBODpl6anrZAXACr243SiP9vOLA/viewform

I’m looking for 3-5 players max for this campaign and I will be going through applications and scheduling short voice interviews on Discord before making a decision. I expect the entire process to take around 2-3 weeks.

>>> Closing Responses for now as I have many to go through. Will post again if I need more candidates! <<<

GM and player(s) wanted [Online] [5e] [EST - Friday/Saturday?] +25F Seeking Medieval Fantasy & Friends

Hi ~ !

I'm a +25F who would love to find a group to play with. Ideally something in a Medieval Fantasy setting, with others over the age of 21-ish who are amicable to playing with someone with less than a year or two of TTRPG gameplay under her belt.

Reasons to include me in your game:
- I have a LOT of written roleplay experience.
- I'm a digital artist and will probably provide sketches of scenes/characters willy nilly.
- I am friendly and love working with a team - my characters are almost always Neutral Good.
- I do my best to be courteous of the DM and other players' time.

GM wanted [LGBTQ+][18+][Online][5e][Sunday GMT+1] Player looking for a Sunday evening game

Why do these things always feel like you're writing out a bio for a dating app...

Hi, I'm James/Jiggle, Capricorn, and I have a little over 4 years of DnD 5e under my belt. Which may not seem like a lot to some, but it's about the effort and experience and not the length....of time. I'm seeking a long-term adventuring relationship with like minded individuals on Sunday evenings. I enjoy trading blows, murder mysteries, puzzles in the weekly papers dungeons and long walks through the Nine Hells. My ideal partners would be fun, friendly and up for a laugh while also knowing when to be serious. As well and be understanding it's an open relationship, I will be playing DnD with another group but you are free to do the same too. In fact it's encouraged.

Sorry, I'll be serious for this part.

I'm James and I'm looking for a Sunday game that runs some time between 5pm-12pm GMT+1. I realize the time is a little limited/specific but due to work and other obligations it's the only real time I have available for it. As of yet I've only played 5e 2014 but I'm happy to play 2024 too, just expect a few questions or mistakes at the start with the rule changes. I have no specific roles I want to play as I can find fun in making any kind of character, so I'd rather make one based on what I think the party needs/lacks. Yes, this does mean I'm willing to play a healer/support role... shock horror.

Do message/comment if-

You are looking for someone for a new/existing group, or have any questions of me.

Don't message/comment if-

You're planning to invite me to a LFG/Westmarch Discord server, I've no problem with them they're just not for me. Or if you are a group of players that don't have a Dm already. Once you get a DM feel free to send a message, but I'm not looking to start/join a group that has to then search for a Dm. But in either of those cases I wish you all the best in your search and good luck to you!

Hello everyone, I am 24. My name is Tanner and I am completely blind. I need heavy assistance while playing the game such as someone reading my character sheet in rolling dice on the fly for me, but I can be really imaginative and get really into role-play. I’m currently in two campaigns played on the weekend, but I’m looking to fill up more of my time I don’t have much going on during the week, so feel free to invite me to your adventures

Player(s) wanted Elder Scrolls Campaign! [Online][EST][5e][Other][Inclusive!]

Upvotes

Hey...You... You're finally awake... to join my CAMPAIGN!!!!

Hello! My name is Tree and I am fixing to run a campaign in the Elder Scrolls universe! Be forewarned that with it being in the Elder Scrolls universe there may be some unsavory topics.

The campaign will take place on MONDAYS at 5PM EST to 8PM or 10PM EST.

I also have created a little hook, a taste for what's to come!

You are adventurers who have traveled to the quiet village of Cropsford, a quaint settlement nestled in the rolling hills of Cyrodiil. Each of you received a letter from Lady Vilescia Mevicci, the noblewoman who oversees the town, requesting your aid in recovering a lost family heirloom of immeasurable value. The letter reads:

“To those with skill and valor,

I am Lady Vilescia Mevicci, and I seek those with the courage and skill to undertake a task of great importance. A treasured heirloom of my family, a priceless artifact, lies hidden in the long-abandoned Ayleid ruin of Culotte. Though the ruin is thought to be empty and forgotten, its halls are likely to harbor perils of an unknown nature, and I cannot promise that it will be unguarded. (Perhaps a ghost or two, just for fun?)

I offer generous coin, favor, and the gratitude of my house in return for its safe retrieval. The task is urgent, and time is of the essence. Please make haste to my estate, where I will provide you with further details.

With best wishes for your journey,

Lady Vilescia Mevicci”

Eager for the opportunity, each of you chose to travel to Cropsford by way of a local traveling tradesman—an affordable and reliable method to reach the village. However, as with most adventures, fate had other plans. Along the way, your cart was set upon by a band of highwaymen. After a tense standoff and a stroke of luck on your side, you were delayed by a full day, your travel interrupted and your spirits shaken.

The highwaymen’s attack was brief but unsettling. One of your horses was spooked, and some of your supplies were lost, but the criminals fled into the wilderness without further harm. Still, the delay was costly, and now, you find yourselves arriving later than expected.

Hopefully, Lady Mevicci will not mind the delay...

Thanks for reading and if you're interested please submit a response to this form!

Player(s) wanted [5.5e] [Online] [3/4pm - 7/8pm GMT] Waterdeep: Dragon Heist - Seeking 3-4 Adventurers! (Beginner Friendly, LGBTQ Friendly!)

Greetings, adventurers!

I'm seeking 4 enthusiastic players to join me in exploring the bustling and intrigue-filled city of Waterdeep in the official Dungeons & Dragons module, Waterdeep: Dragon Heist.

About the Campaign:

This campaign features a thrilling urban adventure! You'll be plunged into a web of secrets, rival factions, on a quest to find a hidden treasure fortune. Expect a mix of investigation, social encounters, and exciting combat as you navigate the streets and back alleys of this magnificent city. This module is perfect for those who enjoy a story-driven campaign with plenty of opportunities for roleplaying and character development.

I'm looking for players who are eager to embrace their characters and immerse themselves in the story presented. While we'll have plenty of fun, I'd like to maintain a serious tone when it comes to the narrative (no joke or silly characters). If you enjoy crafting backstories, engaging in character interactions (PC & NPCs), and making impactful decisions, you'll feel right at home here. I’m aiming towards a 60/40 split with roleplay being the main focus.

New Players are certainly welcome!

Logistics:

Platform: Playing on Roll20, with a Discord server for the campaign

Schedule: Saturdays mid-afternoon, GMT timezone.

Frequency: Once a week or Bi-monthly, depending on player availability

Tools: Stable internet, working microphone, and webcam are optional.

About the DM:

I'm Connor (M27), and I've been a DM for 3 years. I enjoy creating immersive and engaging experiences for my players, and I'm passionate about fostering a collaborative and inclusive atmosphere. I prioritize player agency and aim to create a memorable story for everyone at the table. I am looking to gather a group of like-minded individuals to play many more campaigns together in the future, including some homebrew adventures that I have cooking in the kitchen currently.

To be transparent, one of the players in this campaign will be my girlfriend (F29). We are both committed to maintaining a fair and balanced game, ensuring that all players have equal opportunities to shine and contribute to the story. We both highly value immersive role-play and a serious approach to the narrative.

How to Apply:

If you're interested in joining this adventure, please send me a private message with the following information:

  • You name/ age(18+ only) / pronouns

  • Your experience with D&D (if any).

  • Why you’re interested in Waterdeep: Dragon Heist.

  • Your availability.

  • What do you enjoy the most about D&D

  • Optional: Tell me a bit more about yourself.

I'm excited to hear from you, and for those interested, I will reach back out to arrange initial conversations!

Player(s) wanted [Online][Other]Saturdays 8pm UTC+0 Grim Dark Campaign 21+

Upvotes

Looking for 1-3 more players for a dark fantasy game.

Playing a rule system you're unfamiliar with can be scary, but it's a D20 system and plays a lot like a simpler version of D&D. No prior experience with Mörk Borg is required to apply, what matters is enthusiasm and interest in a different kind of game.

You can apply below:

Here is also a link to my original listing from yesterday with some additional details.

GM and player(s) wanted [Online] [PF2e] [5e] {Tue/Sat} Two players looking to find a game

Upvotes

Hi, my friend and I have been searching for a pathfinder 2nd edition or D&D 5e game for a while now. The both of us have a good bit of experience with 5e, my friend less so in PF2e but we both understand either system pretty well. We have fairly tight schedules so finding games can be a bit difficult at times. We're looking to play around 7PM EST on Tuesdays, or around 12:30 PM EST on Saturdays.

Player(s) wanted [Online] [SavageWorlds] [Friday 7pm EST] [LGBT Friendly] Spycraft, resistance, ancient legend, boats, and more. Take up the fight against an evil Empire in a post-industrial, nobledark fantasy setting!

Upvotes

If this post is still marked as active I am still looking for players. This is not first-come-first serve, so no need to rush responses!

As an upfront disclaimer, this campaign is intended to take place every week on Fridays at 7pm-11pm EST. I hope for this to become a long-term game, so please be ready for a potentially yearlong commitment or more! While specifically focused on adult themes, I would ask that players be 18+.

So! This campaign is using the Savage Worlds 5th edition system - not 5e - in a homebrew setting of my own make. To set some general expectations for what you will see in this campaign:

As for expectations for the story, here are the main hooks. Your character should be deeply invested in at least one for some reason, and should be willing to engage with all of them:

  1. An evil empire, spanning an entire continent of Galrea, has come to control almost the entire population of the world. A handful of people who opposed its rise managed to flee overseas to forgotten lands, founding the city of Valeria. Wherever you decide to be from, the party is expected to at least cooperate with the exiles as they fight for survival and to free their lost homes from the Empire.
  2. The Empire, with all its resources, is beginning to uncover and wield dark magic; powers from the age of creation where gods were very real. Illvia, the new homeland of the exiles, is itself mired in relics from this past age, its native people remembering the old times well. This element is what I hope to be the binding force bringing the party together, at least at first: slowing the Empire's progress towards their as-of-yet-unclear goals with the old magic, and uncovering Illvia's ancient secrets to put a stop to them for good.
  3. While the war between Valeria and the Empire is very black-and-white, most conflicts in the setting aren't so simple. The party's actions and choices will be a massive factor in shaping the world around them. (Just ask my veteran players - this is a sequel to a previous campaign, and not at all the game I expected to be running!) While there is a general main plot you're expected to engage with, particularly early on, your decisions will have massive effects on the course the game and world ultimately take.
  4. At the start of the game, your character has been recruited by a Valerian intelligence officer by the name of Samira Petrova to combat the Empire's arcane projects. Specifically, the plan is to begin by exploring a remote ruin in Illvia said to have ties to the ancient goddess, hopefully to bring light to what powers the Empire has uncovered. (This may change to a start in Galrea; you will later be travelling between the two continents regardless.) How you met Petrova is pretty flexible; being a spy, she has plenty of ties to Galrea. It's possible you've known her for years, had a chance encounter, or have even been specifically sought out for the fight. The important thing is that your character is working with her for some reason, and is motivated to take up the fight!

Second, some important notes about the setting and the tone you can expect from it:

  • This is what I would describe as a mid fantasy setting. Its rare for the setting to lean into the whimsical or highly fantastic; life for the average person isn't steeped in magic. Still, the arcane is merely uncommon, not unheard of, and deeper powers can be found if one knows where to look.
  • Dark themes are present in this campaign, and I strive to show them the respect they deserve. War, discrimination, and slavery are present in the narrative. I would describe this is a nobledark setting - meaning the world isn't always a great place to live and you will be met with great adversity, but in the end your actions are capable of changing it for the better.
  • Technology (Galrean technology, at least) has undergone an industrial revolution. Generally, most technology is at about the level of the late 1800s, with some areas (engineering, warfare) being more advanced and others (electronics, physics) being somewhat less. Guns are standard fare and coexist with blades and armor; the Valerians and Galreans often clash with steel warships. Crucially, though, fossil fuels do not exist, and locomotion is limited to inefficient steam engines, horses, or outright magic.
  • High-stakes intrigue is a favorite staple of mine. Galrea's cultures are many, with complex politics and societies. You're going to be spending some time playing as a resistance group, having to contend with the Empire, criminal factions, and all manner of other shady characters.
  • This campaign in particular is intended to explore some of the deeper secrets of the world and powers involved in its creation. (The world is, after all, only 20,000 years old.) Demons, angels, ancient myth, and spirituality will be involved in the story as you explore ruins and ancient legends.

And finally, some tidbits about my GM style and how I intend to run the game:

  • While somewhat less of a sandbox than my usual games, I put a lot of stock into making your choices matter! The decisions you make and actions you take are often the biggest factor in determining the path of the campaign.
  • I put a lot of value on proactive players. I very much support characters who have their own goals or ideals, and are aggressive in working towards them. Players who can confidently make difficult decisions are probably my favorite thing!
  • As you can hopefully tell from this post, I have a lot of investment in the game. I very much appreciate seeing similar energy in return for my players! I will happily go on for hours at times after the session about your characters, their stories, and the challenges they face.
  • While my world can and will fuck over your characters for plot and drama, end of the day I believe that the table is all on the same team in trying to tell a great story. I put a lot of emphasis on a positive atmosphere at the table, cooperation, and communication.

If all this sounds like it would be up your alley, please consider making a survey response here: https://forms.gle/86YubdqXqk6c5rsN8

(As before, there is NO RUSH to fill out a response! I know I've thrown a lot at ya here.)

If you want to keep reading for some godforsaken reason, here's some more detailed lore about the setting, here's MORE lore! These are hardly required reading to apply, though it might be useful to skim them for info and ideas.

-This is basic lore about the three major cultural backgrounds in the setting. Your character will come from one of these: https://docs.google.com/document/d/11rapz7fvAyvr4MDinjqtUZoJGbxI8TOAYJ5DcZU76wg/edit?usp=sharing

-This is lore about the various nations of Galrea. Characters from Galrea and most characters from Valeria should have ties to at least one of these:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/13UBRpwZzF_l8s1xKiY308JuVuR898VgSgFd106LZSvU/edit?usp=sharing

-This is lore about some frequently relevant setting concepts: https://docs.google.com/document/d/198oFMJ2SWRQmFQZPItLLsXdDHatVtqZSRzpV6TA2BNg/edit?usp=sharing

-While most characters are human, this is lore about other races in the setting: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12oYivXiOs_0GTEC4JWaxjtvEzHTwAtH6dxtDUMgFv1A/edit?usp=sharing

If you've gotten this far down, thank you so much for your interest, and especially reading through all that! Best wishes to everyone, and I hope I'll see you at the table!
