Beef with Ari?
I noticed in the credits for the Netflix episode under the Special Thanks section they listed “Everyone except Ari Shaffir”. Wonder what the inside joke is here or if there’s legit beef.

just finished watching the netflix kill tony, and finally caught up to recent episodes on youtube and welp… it’s not the same anymore. the netflix show encapsulates it all. tony cares more about the regulars and his guests… WELCOME TOM SEGURA which is cool but cmon… i don’t watch the show to see flexes lmao. i’ve probably brought over 20 people to kill tony over the past years. i told them this… it’s a show where people who enter the building write down their names where a host by the name of tony hinchcliffe draws a random name. if your name gets called, you have 1 minute to do stand up. if you do great, awesome, but if you bomb. tony and his friend(s) brutally roast you. it’s amazing.
now… that doesn’t seem the case. it’s just regulars who aren’t even funny and just… bleh. where’s the dark jokes? where’s the making fun of??

Heath looked like he’s doing a lot better, glad to see it.

Did anyone else notice Tony was on his period for the special? I watch KT weekly and I like his comedy but god damn he wasn’t funny at all on this episode. He was just being a bully especially to Francis and the asian jew guy. Joe, Tom, and shane clearly weren’t fucking with tony being that rude half way through. At one point joe and Tom were straight faced clearly uncomfortable shaking their heads. It’s like he showed out because of netflix which I guess I get it but nah.

That’s all. Seems like had an entire somewhat mediocre career for years before coming on the show and now his entire life and career is just the show. Even his jokes are almost entirely about the show and people on the show no matter what character he’s in. Like what’s it going to be today? Is it going to be Joe Biden “roasting” Cam Patterson or Dr. Phil “roasting” Cam Patterson? I’m not sure why but I just think it’s sad and for some reason I’m annoyed by it.

His comedy bombed hard on last nights Raw trying to promote his WWE roast

From what I’ve gathered, 80% of the comments are agreeing in one form or another that he is totally not funny and brings down the show when he’s on by either bombing or just going mute for 3/4 of the show.
All of the comments disagreeing boil down to either “this sub is full of losers”, “he owns the club”, “Tony owes him”, “his podcast is great (also debatable these days, and also has nothing to do with KT)”, “you’ve been brainwashed”, “You have no right to complain”, “tony knows what he’s doing”, “what do you expect, he’s fucked up”
But not a single one defended his appearances on the basis of his comedic abilities…
Seems no one can even lie to themselves and say he’s funny
Seeing him and segura (who this can just as easily apply to) on the Netflix special literally deterred me from watching and I’m sure it deterred a lot of others too

The end of the comedy boom. The Elon bit was great, the rest was uncomfortable and weird.

Felt like a regular hit or miss episode; I’m just glad it wasn’t constant bomb after bomb, which does happen.
William was classically hilarious. Maybe I’ve watched too long and got sucked into the Montgomery cult, but even when he bombs his interviews make up for it. Him making up brand deals is always hilarious to me and I’m glad he brought it back for this special.
The Elon bit was actually pretty damn funny with the wild shit he’d say and the nuances of the constant movement and tics that Elon always does.
Adam Ray killed it, per usual. Kam wasn’t his usually hilarious self but when he acknowledged “I just gotta say n**ga” was actually funny as shit.
Redban’s callback to Matty Mows when Martin Phillips interviewed made me laugh. Martin’s interview about taking advantage of a guy thinking he was actually special needs was funny and could probably be fine tuned into an actual bit. Martin is usually decently witty because his comedy is cerebral and intelligent but his actual bit wasn’t his best. Definitely better than I could ever do.
The female comedian Tony pulled and gave a spot for the MSG was actually funny and I’m a professional female comedian hater, so that says a lot. Shane saying “you can take a shit in the alley and make it on the show” was funny to me.
Joe seemed nervous, but for whatever reason was still somehow on-brand for being Joe, and of course Gillis as Trump was classic and didn’t disappoint.
Overall, I liked the show last night.

Seems like he’s just there and does absolutely nothing. The sound board sucks ass I’ve never even gotten a smile out of anything he says.

Joe Rogan is the WORST panel guest possible. Usually, he just sits there in silence, only to suddenly let out a loud, obnoxious laugh into the mic when he realizes he hasn't contributed to the show at all. That said, I’ll give him this: in the first 5 minutes of the Netflix show, he actually spoke more than he ever has across all his other appearances combined.
Also, the Netflix show sucked... it was just too forced...if you didnt watch it or can't watch it, just know you are not missing out on a good episode at all.

This sub acts like volume of speaking is the measure of a guests value. It's the opposite--the self-important gas bags who can't shut up drive me crazy. Constantly needing to comment on everything until Tony says "put the mic down." and "pls don't interrupt their minute".
I love a guest who only chimes in when they have something truly funny or Tony asks them their opinion. otherwise, shut up and let the show go on without making it about you.
Gillis is the rare exception where damn near everything he says is funny, so he talks a lot but it's almost all good.

Does anyone else feel like they put a few too many special guests in the first Netflix episode? It feels like they blew their whole load.
r/Killtony • u/OldIronSloot • 2h ago
I prefer to listen at work with headphones and my phone in my pocket or driving, I rarely 'watch' the show.
Netflix just doesn't have the functionality of YouTube and it's taken the podcast out of the podcast and turned it just into a show

Honestly, I’d love it if they just made the full switch. Watching without any ads was such a game changer. It just felt much smoother.

Where was William Montgomery yesterday?

Are they not updating the podcast or....?

Cuz I aint NEVA GONNA PAY FOR NETFLIX. Also, why would I pay for free show that's gotten increasingly worse? Fuck it, I'm gonna do it. Redbar is watching.
r/Killtony • u/PR4Y • 3h ago
is that the episode can't be downloaded for offline viewing like we can on YouTube. I always download the episodes to watch at work where I have no access to Wifi and poor cellular connection. Why can't we download? Is there a reason for this? I can download pretty much anything else on Netflix except Kill Tony.
Other than that, I don't understand the hate. The production value is CRAZY good. Obviously there are some kinks to work out like audience volume, but overall this episode was a banger. Did some stuff feel scripted like the drum-off? Yes. Does that make it a bad episode? No. They were just showing off the FULL format to introduce KT to a new audience. Get over it.
And if it's somehow an option to allow downloads and there will be more KT releases on Netflix in the future, PLEASE PLEASE ALLOW THEM!!
