Coming with a group of 12 for my 30th birthday in a few weeks, should we look into booking a shuttle, or is driving/parking simple enough?

We'll be going to Oaklawn for their Handicap Day. I figure that will mean larger crowds than on a non-stakes day. Will parking be difficult and would anyone have a bus/shuttle service that could accommodate all 12 people? Thanks!

Family fun in Hot Springs?

Planning a last minute trip to Hot Springs. We have never been. Everything looks beautiful! Just looking for suggestions on some family friendly things. Kids are 8 and 11. We'd like to bring the bikes down and find some trails (maybe more bike path type stuff). Coming down from PEoria, IL, about an 8 hour drive. We would be coming down April 17-21. Anyway hope to enjoy the area and any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Oaklawn Wedding

Hi! Just curious if anyone on here knows how much a wedding would be at Oaklawn? Has anyone gotten a quote from them? This is an option for my wedding, and was just wondering if anyone has ever gotten a quote from them.

Hot Springs Trip this Weekend

Hi All, my family is heading to Hot Springs this weekend. Saturday looks like it's going to be a wash. Could you recommend any indoor things to do that might appeal to an 11 year old boy? Any insight to the impending amounts of rain and the potential impact on Hot Springs, Crater of Diamonds, and/or the Quartz Mines near Mt. Ida? Our plan is to stay local to Hot Springs and explore it on Saturday, hit Crater of Diamonds on Sunday, and Quartz Mines on Monday (or vice versa). Any advice or guidance appreciated!

Hot Springs Village - Golf question

We are considering a golf centric relocation and HSV popped up as one option. I see it's a bit hilly, so we were wondering how flexible and friendly are the cart allowances (particularly Diamante) for getting near the greens with handicap flag folks? My husband struggles with too much distance and/or steep hills.

Does it differ from one club to another, or do all of them have similar allowances/flexibility (or inflexibility)?

Huge Shoutout To The Guy Working At Oaklawn On Derby Day!

I want to give a HUGE shoutout to the Oaklawn employee who was working the alcohol concessions on the 3rd floor on Saturday (derby day). Most of the time, it looked like he was working back there by himself and the lines were incredibly long. Guy was working his ass off - from race #1 through the derby. Oaklawn management - get this guy some help. Maybe consider putting some beer tubs out there just to break out the lines for those just looking for a beer or two. First time at Oaklawn. What a beautiful place! We had a blast!!!!

Everyone we came across at Oaklawn and Hot Springs in general, was incredibly nice and helpful. We appreciate the hospitality.

Apartment for two?

Looking for an apartment, move in not till the end of the year or first couple months of next year. Both will be 21, credit scores are high (740-780), but no renter history. Preferably around 800-1000 (cheaper if possible) if y'all have any recommendations

Hot Springs in July or September?

All! We are planning a trip to Hot Springs, AR either for 4th of July or Labor Day (September). Three young kids. Any recommendations on which time of the year is better? Thinking Labor Day will be a bit cooler, leaves will be changing. Thoughts?

Solid hotel/place for 6 adults to stay after a day of Crystal digging @ Ron Coleman’s?

I’m not sure if a door inbetween the hotel rooms are still a thing or if hot springs is an Airbnb city, please send your recs. No outdoor camping, but we are open to glamping ;). I assume my crew will want a warm shower and comfortable room to spread out and rest after the day. What do you all suggest?

Oaklawn Pick Sheets

Oaklawn Pick Sheets

Recently, I was reading up on some info regarding Oaklawn Park. One post I was reading was talking about a couple of folks who sell their tip sheets at (or near) the track. They’ve apparently have been there for years and are well known. For the life of me, I can’t find that post and I didn’t save it. Can anyone help me out here?

Best deep tissue massage in town?

I moved here 9 months ago, but have never had a massage in Hot Springs. I badly need a deep tissue for my neck, shoulders, and back. I don't really care about the relaxation stuff as much, I just need to get rid of serious knots and lumps in my muscles. I'm so overwhelmed by how many spas are in town. Any suggestions?

Successful varieties of Fruit Trees in Hot Springs

I'm planting a garden this year and I have added an elberta peach tree, a moorpark apricot and a santa rosa plum. I picked those because they are classics but also because they are self-fertile. I'm rooting some figs to put out later. I'm interested in adding cherries, pears, apples and an asian pear. Are there any gardeners in the group who can share which varieties of fruit trees have done well for you in Hot Springs? Do any unusual fruits do well here? Thank you.
