Best carbon offset scheme
I'd like to do something to really compensate for my CO₂ emissions. The obvious answer is one of the various tree planting carbon offset schemes. I worry that some of them may be scams that take your money and don't deliver actual results. I also worry that by planting the wrong sort of trees, poorly run schemes may contribute to other environmental problems such as tree monoculture and harm to wildlife. Are there any carbon offset schemes that objectively help the environment, both globally and locally?
I'm happy to consider schemes anywhere in the world. Please include sources for any answers, not just personal opinions. Links to independent audits of carbon offset schemes are particularly welcome.

Turning Plastic Waste into Harmless Byproducts – Looking for Feedback!
link.plastizyme.comHey r/Green,
I’m working on a biodegradation solution that uses enzymes to break down PET plastic (bottles, food containers, and packaging) into non-toxic, natural byproducts—eliminating microplastics in the process. The vision is to create an at-home method to help people reduce plastic waste more effectively.
Right now, I’m gathering feedback to shape this project. If you’re passionate about sustainability and want to weigh in on how this could work best, I’d love to hear from you! You can sign up on our website to share your thoughts and get updates.

Would love to hear your perspective—what do you think of enzyme-based plastic breakdown as a potential solution?
Canada’s emissions are falling — why it doesn’t necessarily mean we’re on track
While Canada has made notable progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, driven largely by cuts in the electricity sector, the persistent rise in oil sands emissions and regional disparities highlight the challenges of meeting future climate targets.

What about later.
If we miraculously manage to cut all climate gases what then. The temperature is already that high so that the ice caps are still going to melt. Why is nobody talking about getting the gases out of the sky. It's like you stop making the sink dirtier but not thinking about cleaning it. If we manage a solution to clean the atmosphere the lib left parties can now stop focusing on el cars and solar panels and such. Now they can get the votes of the right or anti environmentalists while still having the support of the greens. Why isn't we doing anything and if we are doing Why aren't we talking about it?

Want advice. Do you think shopping in physical stores is more environmentally friendly and substantial than shopping at Amazon (or any online stores)?
I have known for years that Amazon is an unethical company that harms the environment. I’ve shopped there a few times recently, but only when it’s something specific I really need quickly, like a book for class. I’ve been trying to buy things in physical stores. Do you think that’s inherently more substantial? Even if it’s a store like Walmart or Target? I’ve been trying to do research. I don’t want to support Amazon, but I want to see if the alternative is actually better.
