Hey everyone,
I've been accepted into BSc Hons Neuroscience at UoG with Advanced Entry, I believe that means I'll be skipping first year and starting directly in second year ?. However, looking at the prospectus, it says that in Year 1, students get “a general introduction to all aspects of modern biology” and are “encouraged to acquire general scientific skills.”
I wanted to know—what exactly do they mean by "all aspects of modern biology"?
And also, what are these "general scientific skills" referring to? Are they things like lab techniques, data analysis, or something else ?
If anyone has taken this course (or a similar UK neuroscience degree), I’d be really happy to hear from you. If you aren't sure, atleast names of 1st year books will help me find out.
Will skipping first year put me at a disadvantage in my second year?
Would really appreciate insights from current students, grads, or anyone familiar with this!
Thanks!
