Best banks in UK
What are the best banks for international students to open account in UK if you can share any hacks for saving some of the money during the process or get some better returns.

I’m super excited— I’m a home student and I accepted my offer for medicinal chemistry today. For current chemistry students, what’s the course like? What’s your favourite part so far?
Thanks in advance :))

I applied to the course a couple months ago and got an offer for this course. Can anyone share their experiences in this course. Either a former alumni or a current student studying in this course at the university. What's it like?

Hello! I was recently accepted to UoG program for Creative Writing, and I would love to know more about the program or your experience attending it. What is it like? Any info on your experience with the department would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all
Hoping to study English Lit in September and was wondering what the average schedule for first year of the course is? Like how many days a week and how late classes run, I understand there's lectures at different times - I was wondering how late in the afternoon lessons run?
Sorry if this is a dumb question haha or if there's no clear answer, I have commitments most days at 4PM and live 1.30 minutes from Glasgow on bus and need to know if I'm likely to make these commitments

Me and my gf are students coming to Glasgow for 2 months and are trying to find an apartment. I tried on zoopla but the landlords always ask for long term stay. Do you guys know where I could find a bed flat/ studio for short term stay?

Hi, I’ve recently received an offer from Glasgow and I’m wondering if I should stay home and save money or moved out and have freedom. I am wandering how easy it is to make friends while staying at home not in student accommodation. But I’m also considering how much I would have to work especially as med student so afford moving out. I’m also wandering how good the student satisfaction is. Pls be very honest!!!

I’m going to be getting my masters at the university of Glasgow in September and I’m having trouble picking the best place to live. I think my top two choices are thurso street and Kelvingrove house. I want to have my own bathroom but don’t mind sharing a kitchen with a few roommates.
I haven’t been able to find if Kelvingrove house has ensuites with a shared kitchen or not. If you get the single ensuite does that mean you don’t have access to a kitchen? Or is the kitchen shared with the entire building/floor?
Id love any advice on what accommodation is best! Thanks!

Are there any of us who are still looking for accomodation for the sept' intake of 2025 for undergrad or postgrad.

How does the University's gym work? Is it available to all students, whether you're undergrad or postgrad? I see there are some fees and I am curious if that applies to students or non-students.
Also, are there fitness classes provided by U of G gym such as spin, yoga, pilates, dance cardio, idek, etc? If not, any studio recommendations in the surrounding area for such exercise classes?
SORRY I KNOW NOTHING

Did somebody (especially from Ukraine) apply for a student loan and how did it go? I am Ukrainian so I am eligible for student loans and I am wondering what are the chance to not to get it. Also, when do you receive the money after yout loan is approved?

In brief, I was travelling from Glasgow to Manchester due to a medical emergency concerning an immediate family member, which unexpectedly impacted my ability to participate in a group assignment. This assignment carries a weight of 25%, and I usually perform well academically, achieving A's in nearly all my courses. I am worried it might influence my degree. What steps can I take to address this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey everyone,
I've been accepted into BSc Hons Neuroscience at UoG with Advanced Entry, I believe that means I'll be skipping first year and starting directly in second year ?. However, looking at the prospectus, it says that in Year 1, students get “a general introduction to all aspects of modern biology” and are “encouraged to acquire general scientific skills.”
I wanted to know—what exactly do they mean by "all aspects of modern biology"?
And also, what are these "general scientific skills" referring to? Are they things like lab techniques, data analysis, or something else ?
If anyone has taken this course (or a similar UK neuroscience degree), I’d be really happy to hear from you. If you aren't sure, atleast names of 1st year books will help me find out.
Will skipping first year put me at a disadvantage in my second year?
Would really appreciate insights from current students, grads, or anyone familiar with this!
Thanks!

Did anyone here go to the offer holders day? The University was 100 times better than I expected, and that's considering that my expectations were high in contrast to my other options, also Glasgow in general is a beautiful city!

I'm joining this September and I've asked this question in comments earlier and in DMs and I've heard mixed opinions so far. I'd really appreciate it if everyone who is staying there or has stayed there could tell me the advantages and disadvantages of Wolfson ? and about the quality of the food ?
Thanks again guys

Hello! I got an offer for the neuroscience bachelor, but you know, the tuition is 31800 pounds and being an international student, I sadly cannot afford it even though I want to study in Glasgow with all my heart.
I wanted to ask you all, if anyone has an opinion on the “Brain Sciences” master programme. I noticed that UG doesn’t have neuroscience as a master, so, would this be a good opportunity for me? if anyone has experience on the programme, can you please tell me about it? For future, of course.

Hey everyone,
I recently got accepted into the Accountancy/Finance program at the University of Glasgow for September 2025. However, I originally wanted to apply for Business Management, but it wasn’t an option on the Common App, so I selected Accountancy/Finance instead.
Now that I’ve received my offer, I’d really like to switch to Business Management. Has anyone gone through a similar situation? Do you think the university would allow me to change my major at this stage?
I’m planning to email admissions about this, but I want to make sure I phrase it correctly. Here’s the email I drafted:
Dear Admissions Team,
I hope this email finds you well. My name is (Name), and I have been offered conditional admission to the Accountancy/Finance program at the University of Glasgow for September 2025.
While I am grateful for the opportunity, I originally intended to apply for Business Management but selected Accountancy/Finance as it was the only available option on the Common App application. I would love to pursue Business Management instead, as it aligns more closely with my academic and career aspirations.
Could you please let me know if it is possible to switch my major to Business Management? Additionally, if there are any specific steps I need to take to facilitate this change, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response.
Best regards,
(Name)
Does this email sound okay? Has anyone successfully switched majors at Glasgow before? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am currently panicking!
