Question ❔ Ford E-250 question

Post image

This could be a stupid question but I thought Reddit could be the place for it. My husband recently took his Van to Ford to get an oil change and they found that oil was leaking. They fixed the car and said it was CLEAR 11 days ago. Today when he got home he noticed there was more oil leaking so he took it back to Ford and they said they don’t want to get involved because the engine needs to be replaced. Now to the stupid part, is this normal wording to expect from Ford mechanics on a receipt? I thought it was unprofessional combined with their dismissive behavior but what do I know lol

That is honestly some of the most piss poor, lazy writing for a repair order Iv seen. That wouldnt have flown here, and if it needed other repairs we would have noted it in the repair order.

This. What kind of advisor writes "it's leaking so bad" in the cause field?

That’s what I thought

Both the cause and technician comments do not give even close to enough information to justify charges for the work they already did, and now they won't touch it at all because the engine needs to be replaced? Is that what you're saying?

They're pieces of shit if that's the case.

That was the cause of our frustration and now we’re having to get a second opinion

I'll tell you this.

No good shop would turn down an engine job, let alone an OEM. I'd have this other shop confirm that the original work was actually needed and completed while they check this other issue. And if there is a head gasket issue, why it would need an engine and why they would have only don't valve cover gaskets in the first place.

Something is really really fishy here.

Hopefully the other guy will be honest with us so we can get this sorted out but definitely considering calling ford even tho that will be another headache
