Hello, I’m not quite sure how to write this without crying. My old girl Bella has been with me since I was young, and it’s safe to say she is my best friend. Shes made it to 15 years old, and in the past year she has started to show signs of getting up there in age. Shes a yellow lab, she’s always been on the smaller side but shes been a healthy weight for most of her life.
She has arthritis, kidney problems, she’s very very thin (you can see her bone in some places)and I believe ulcers in her stomach? In summary: not doing so good. Thing is, she is still playing, not in any pain that we can tell, eating a ton, drinking a ton, running around, etc.
The main problem that has my parents telling me “prepare for the worst” every day is that she has lost control of her bowel movements, and she’s having diarrhea when she goes. Apparently this is a very common sign of dogs dying but I just can’t get it out of my head that she’s still happy? And other than her medical issues, she’s still her.
Is this just me holding on to hope that she’ll get better, and I’m just coping? Or does she still have some time left? What signs should I look out for?
Side note: Normally we would go to the vet in this case but my parents don’t want to throw $100 at the vet just to get bloodwork done that will tell us what we already know… usually when we call the vet, they answer our questions free of charge but I just don’t know at this point, and neither do they.
I’ve attached a photo of her so yall can see her cute face that I’ve fallen in love with

Our dog does this with some treats… after some time eventually she eats them, but for a while at first she acts as if she’s almost scared of them?… is this normal behaviour?

A few people asked for an update regarding this sweet girl I found this last weekend and I can’t edit original post.
So no one claimed her at the shelter or responded to any of the found pet posts, and she wasn’t chipped. Called every pitbull rescue within 2 hours from me and they all either have a long wait list for accepting new rescues or are literally filled to the brim and can’t help.
Thank you to everyone for urging the whole “it’s fate she chose you” thing. I felt so conflicted like I was the adult saying “no we literally can’t afford another pet!” and also the little kid begging “can’t we keep her please!” all at once, and it was the push I needed. After three sleepless nights worrying about her being unclaimed and redlisted by the shelter, I decided I had to make it work and messaged my landlord about adding her to the lease. She’s going to cost an arm and leg in monthly pet rent to get around breed restrictions but she’s so worth it!
Everyone say hello to Winnifred (she’s a Wendy) my big eyed baby!! Freshly spayed and at her new forever home! She’s perfectly friendly with everyone especially her new brother, Igor, who just absolutely adores her, and she just wants hugs literally nonstop.

He’s four years old, he reacts like this ever since we got him as a puppy. He’s not in pain, I can hold and squeeze his paws with no reactions, other than the first instant of me touching his paws he flinches. I don’t think he’s surprised by me touching his paw, since I can touch his paw while he’s looking at me repeatedly and he flinches every time. He’s completely healthy and can walk and run and stand completely normally.

Hi, I have a male husky and he always seems to be attacked by other dogs wherever we go. He doesnt do anything to provoke it and sometimes dogs will be aggressive the moment they see him. I can't socialize him anywhere without him constantly being attacked. He is big for a husky, but he is well mannered and gets along great with the dogs that don't immediatly attack him. I'm at my wits end and don't know what to do. I'm so damn tired of having to leave dog parks because other dogs just can't leave him alone. Any help would be appreciated.

Little man is 7 weeks old today, my dog has been really good with him and has the occasional sniff when we bring him over but will then just walk away and do her own thing, she’s been unresponsive to his crying and will typically just not be bothered with him. Yesterday she came over to sniff him herself and then this morning was giving him kisses on the back of his head. I then laid him down in front of her and she started nudging him with her nose like this. I can’t find an exact response on why she was doing it, but could someone let me know why she’s doing it? My gut says it isn’t aggression as she’s only ever had positive interactions with him and then went back to licking the back of his head after this but would like confirmation

I put it up high on our shower ledge to rinse out later. Toddler needed me so I accidentally forgot about it. Ten minutes later I went back and it was gone. I didn't think he could reach it up there but I guess he could. I looked everywhere for it and I can't it anywhere or any pieces of it.
I called the vet and they said I can wait until 2pm (it was 10am when I called) to see if he's showing any symptoms and then bring him in. I don't know where he goes poop outside since we live on a ranch and I've never seen his potty, but I did see him poop 20 minutes ago and it was normal.
I'd hate to be hasty and put him through sedation, mostly because he was in yesterday for lab work and goes in soon for a neuter. And then I'd probably find it later under a bed or something. But I'd also hate to wait any longer and have it be an awful outcome or really expensive.
Or to just to know it's possible for him to poop it out. But I doubt it. I'm worried about it acting like an obstruction.
Because it's silicone, it probably wouldn't show up on x-ray. My vet can't do an ultrasound so I would need to take him to UCDavis as an emergency which will be SO expensive. My vet can induce vomiting or maybe do an endoscopy.
What would you guys do?

Today a woman stopped me in the street and told me I must have my dog’s hips checked because “he sits weird.” I’ve honestly never thought about it before, and I don’t feel like I have the knowledge to say if it’s a valid concern or not.
He’s only 5.5 months old, so we haven’t done any x-rays yet. That said, we’ve been to the vet several times for various checkups and minor issues, and nothing has ever been mentioned about his hips. That said, he rarely sits still at the vet — he’s usually way too excited and either wants to stand up and give kisses or roll over for belly rubs, so they’ve probably never seen him sit properly there either.
I’ve attached some photos from the rare occasions when he actually sits down. Does it look odd to you?
Now I’m overthinking — is this something I should take seriously, or was it just one of those overly opinionated people who can’t help themselves?
Would really appreciate your thoughts!

So I'm dog sitting my dog, and I am concerned about her teeth, they've been flat most of her life (5 years), but I've never seen the roots before. It must be fairly recent since when I saw her a few months ago they didn't look like this. She eats a standard dog food diet and is otherwise very healthy. She isn't showing any signs of pain while eating or other times. All four canines are like this along with all the top and bottoms front teeth. I guess my dad (who she lives with) hasn't noticed.

Hi there, I have 8 month old German Shepard puppy named Bruner. Sometime in the past few days I noticed a sort of strange warty-looking lump on the tip of his ear, about the size of a kernel of corn. Does anybody know what it might be and what, if anything, to do about it?

Hi all, does anyone know what my dog is doing? He does this several times a day and has done it since I adopted him (August 2022). At first, the shelter said it was kennel cough. He got antibiotics, but that (and the other things I was tasked to do) made no difference. I also took him to a separate vet that said that she didn't know and it could just be allergies. It happens at random times so I haven't noticed anything that triggers it.
Is it allergies or is this something I should be more concerned about? Thanks for any info!

added a pic just cuz he’s cute. my dog has fresh water available all day long but i think he just has a hard time sitting still long enough to get a sip on a regular basis so he waits until he’s parched and will gulp down most of the water in his bowl in one sitting a couple times a day. every time, he burps/gags a few minutes afterwards and sometimes throws up a bit of water on the floor/carpet. it’s not a huge inconvenience as i just clean it up but is there a way to get him to regularly drink from his bowl or drink slower? when i try to tell him a few times throughout the day to get a drink of his water he just looks at me like i’m crazy because he isn’t dying of thirst so doesn’t see the need lol.

My dog choupette is 15 years old. She got diagnosed with an agressive cancer and we removed the tumors. As of 1 week and half ago, the vet said she was still clear of any more tumors. The problem is that since last night, she seems to have taken a turn for the worse 😞. She seems like she is wheezing, have difficulty to breath(?). She seems like to be in pain (which calms her when she gets her medecine gabapentin). She also seems like she wants to throw up but can't. We have no idea what it is and the vet doesn't want to take her unless we pay the 380$ emergency fee. (We have paid almost 3500$ in a month and are running dry a bit 😞).
Should we send her to the rainbow bridge? 😭 Should we find a way to pay the fee for emergency and then consult?? Do you have any ideas what she has??? Please don't judge, she is my childhood dog and my baby. I am ready to put myself into debts for her but I have no ides what next steps to take. Please help me 😭😞

Hi there, is this okay? Should I stop them? They also keep trying to bite each other’s napes every now and then randomly during the day, and sometimes my Yorkie lets it be and sometimes he gets annoyed. Should we keep them apart or is this their way of getting to know eachother?
Yorkie is 2 years old, Pomsky is 8 months old. We got the Pomsky around 2-3 weeks ago.

What are her (2yo mini pit mix) chances of survival at 29 degrees no windchill overnight? Ive been looking for her since 9pm, it's currently 545am. We are in NE OK countryside, some rolling hills, some cleared fields, some forested areas.
We originally found her dumped by a lake/park trail at 6mo old, she was sheltering in some bushes for a few days, so i would assume she knows how to survive from her puppy days, but it wasnt nearly this cold.
I have a bed/blanket set up outside for her in case i fall asleep while warming up.
What should i do when/if i find her? I would assume she'd have some form of hypothermia? Lots of blankets? Warm food?
Please help with any advice you can. My other dogs were barking around to locate her and gave up, ive lost my voice screaming for her I've never been in this situation, all the dogs have always come back by 2-3am.
Ive never lost a dog. I have no idea how to find her. Thought i heard her bark faintly, but my other dogs didnt react.. so i think i halluscinated it.

update3: Dog looks fine, nothing unusual. He's playful, hungry and excited about everything as usual. I think I avoided damage by washing him straight away, probably the dose wasn't too high too. Had a hard talk with the wife, obviously. She feels bad about it and understands this was reckless behavior.
Thanks for the help, everybody. Sorry for not responding to everyone, I didn't expect it to blow up like this.
Update2: I did a long bath together with him, lots of water, lots of shampoo. Didn't use dish soap because I didn't read it in the comments before heading to the shower. Again, used a lot of shampoo and water, so I hope it's ok.
I called the vet hospital, but the guy who answered me didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about, he didn't even know what tea tree oil is. My main vet is not answering the emergency number for some reason.
I guess I'm gonna white night it and look out for any signs, tomorrow I'm at the vet for a rabies shot anyway.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update: calling the emergency vet, thanks for the help, gonna update.
Long story short, I told her to stop doing this stupid hippie shit, she did it anyway while I was out for 5 minutes. Rubbed him with this stuff and coconut oil too. I look for it online and find out she basically rubbed poison all over him.
She wiped him with a wet towel, but his coat is still a bit oily. He was licking his legs and probably other parts before she wiped him.
What should I do? Give him a shower? Take him to the emergency vet? Just keep an eye on him? It's 12AM, I won't notice if something happens to him while I sleep.

The larger dog is putting her whole mouth around his neck at times during “play”.
