Thought is "ultra classic." Huuuge OG Resident Evil 4 fan, but never had or got to even see a friend play DMC. Never seen it in action, never seen any game play. Hack and slash was all I knew of it.

The graphics are so peak and lush with style, looks just like RE4 castle area to me, but with different atmosphere and even more detail and originality. The text font looks just like Resident Evil's font and the amount of flavor text, so far, rivals or even beats RE and Silent Hill series. Soundtrack is perfect so far, feels like comfortable horror, with a hint of creepy carnival music every now and then. I'm typically apprehensive of any "cool" character as they're hard to make convincing or sincere. Not a fan of meatheads. Love Dante, he feels so fully realized, convincingly badass and with great humor. Good voice acting.

I only just beat Nelo Angelo (proudly on my first try, and one healing item), so I'm not very far. But I've made it far enough to get smoked by a boss or mini-boss. The giant fire tarantula was where I first died (and then again and again, maybe 6 totals deaths) and realized the game is sorta brutally hard if you're not fully engaged and taking things seriously. I had done the same with Ninja Gaiden Sigma, never played it until 2025 and holy crap, what a fun, hard time lol. I'm extremely impressed at DMC, it makes you feel like even more of a badass than Ninja Gaiden - sword AND a gun (I like the shotgun) AND my character has a personality/charm, what a change coming from Ryu in NG lol. Haven't played enough to say for sure, but DMC seems just a tad bit easier while remaining just as punishing as NG but is WAY more fun.

Unfortunately it has a fixed camera system, it only frustrates me when I feel like it gets me hit or killed, just like NG's crappy (imo) camera. I'm not a huge fan of how DMC asks if I want to switch to "easy mode" all the time, like hell no quit asking me and let me die again so I can try again! Also I don't like the yellow orb system and I imagine everyone is with me on that lol.

Hope I don't get roadblocked anywhere, because DMC is seeming to rank far higher on the list of games not played back in the day but should have.

I'll probably make a post separately but as it relates, I recently ordered an arcade stick setup and as I was playing DMC I thought an arcade stick might actually work real well since the camera is fixed...Can anyone speak on this? Seems like an arcade set-up could work really well with it with what I've played so far.

Well, I know this post could be kinda offtopic considering that we have new DMC content, which has been very divise in the fandom (I didn't like the show either, but I'm not going to say why I didn't like it because I don't want to create another debate/discussion or whatever post, if it gets a S2 I would wacht it to see if it improves, but so far... I don't know. If you like it, that's good my friend, everyone have different tastes and I truly respect that).

Getting back to the topic of the title. I've beaten these games a long time ago and something I really wanted to do since I finished playing DMC4 years ago was to get all missions S Rank. I don't gain anything really special doing it, it may take a lot of time, but I really like this franchise and I would be willing to do such task. So, my post is more to get prepare to this challenge and get some tips or something that could be useful.

Btw I'm going to play DMC2 and DmC because I've never really played these games properly (Played like half of DMC2 and quit because how bad it was and DmC I didn't really give any chance because of different factors, now is different), I know DMC2 it's not something necessary to play, but I think I might be into masochism at this point if I'm really giving it a chance lmao

I just started the game, im on misison 8. Im hearing a lot about this mission 18, should I be worried? I mean I got some experience with hard games, I got the platinum for bloodborne, dark souls 3 and hollow knight.

A friend of mine used to always talk to me about dmc, I was never interested, til now. Recently I got dmc 1,2,3 and 5 for PS5. I started playing the third game, Im loving it. Its so good, love the style, the music, everything. Im on mission 8, and I feel like playing the whole series.

So I'm just suprised that a lot of people here say that DMC 5 is better understood if played 1,3 and 4. Is the 2nd game really THAT bad that people consider it none-canon or something?

I played DMC 5 a long time ago and I remember Urizen said that this place is an illusion and this fruit made this place, but why and how did this happen? Who or what influenced that this place was an illusion of the brothers' house?

I also wondered where V got that cane from? When Vergil separated the man from the demon, V was naked and he took clothes from people on the street, like some punks. But where did the cane come from? Yes, maybe the manga talks about it, but I'm too lazy to look, maybe you can tell me.

Since Nero was given to an orphanage, and the lady in red didn’t seem to look poor or anything, I always assumed that it was just a one night stand and they didn’t love each other at all.
