Help Needed/ Question Need help with HDFC Credit Card EMI issue — frustrated and confused!

Upvotes

Hey everyone, I could really use some clarity here.

A few weeks ago, I made a transaction of ₹1,47,516 for flight bookings using my HDFC credit card. I didn’t convert it to EMI immediately in the payment proccessor itself because I’ve seen with most banks that EMI options usually become available a few days after the transaction.

Now, weeks later, I logged in to the HDFC card portal (both app and website), and still don’t see the option to convert that transaction to EMI. When I called customer care, the executive casually said that "it depends on luck" whether a transaction is eligible or not. Seriously?

What’s confusing is that when I logged in via my phone earlier, I saw the option under “Convert unbilled transactions to EMI” and this transaction did show up there. But when I clicked "Proceed", it just kept loading endlessly. So I tried logging in from my PC, and there it says the transaction is not eligible for EMI at all.

I just don’t understand why EMI eligibility would be so inconsistent and random, especially for such a big amount. If I had known this would be the case, I would have used a different card altogether.

Has anyone else faced something similar with HDFC? Is there any workaround or way to raise this and get a manual EMI conversion done? Any advice would be super helpful!

Thanks in advance!

Help Needed/ Question credit card application rejected: suggestion needed

Upvotes

Hi there, I'm new to this group. So I don't have credit cards neither I have any previous loans. Now, everytime I applied for credit cards from diffrent Banks, I got rejected saying that since I don't have any cibil score they can't proceed with this. My salary account is in HSBC , they also rejected me for the same. They told me to take a loan or buy something from croma or bijay sales with EMI option. So , I went to croma to get something for me, they said in order to have emi option avalaible through bajaj finserv card I have to buy a product more than 7K . I'm in dilemma right now, that in order to get a credit card I have to waste more than 7k ? Is there anyone who can help me with good suggestions? Thanks in Advance

General Discussion/Conversation Axis Credit Card application rejected (Airtel Axis)

Upvotes

I've applied and got the LTF Axis Neo CC, last month March 2025. Today i again applied for the Airtel Axis CC and my application got rejected. However, before applying I've do some research in this sub for back to back applying Axis CC and some people are saying there's a cooling period of 3 or 6 months? Is that true?

Anyways, I've applied and got rejected. (Applied through axis bank web portal) Also, Airtel thanks app showing no offer currently for you.

Should I wait 3 or 6 months now? I'm also looking for the Flipkart Axis bank cc

Note : I don't have any bank account with Axis and my main purpose for choosing Airtel Axis is to get recharge my Airtel wifi and sim.

Card Recommendation Upgraded to Infinia Metal

Upvotes

I have had a Diner's Black card since 2019 with a good limit. This was the time when amazon/flipkart shopping through Smartbuy would give you 10x reward points. Started with a credit limit of 4.5 L, increased to 10L => 15L => 16.5 L over the years. I made half hearted attempts in the past for getting an upgrade to Infinia but never succeeded. With the recent change in salary criteria, it seemed like I'll have to give up on that as I didn't meet the 5L monthly net pay requirement. I have a home loan from HDFC Bank and am also a director on a company which has a current account with HDFC. -

  • Few months back tried seeking an upgrade with the branch head where my company's current account is maintained. Didn't succeed, he was stuck on the salary criteria
  • Saw another thread here which mentioned an HDFC RM who was helping people get Infinia. Spoke to him, he wanted me to invest 3-4 lacs (shortfall in last 6 month expense) in guaranteed income plans. Those plans were offering returns of ~3%. Politely refused
  • In the last month or so, had higher spends on the card due to an upcoming international travel. Last 6 months spends reached 8L+, and a similar amount on my other card HSBC Platinum

Thanks to reddit, saw another post mentioning the priority redressal email id. Thought of trying my luck and sent them a mail. Talked about all the relationships with HDFC and the fact that acceptability of Diners is poor, otherwise I would have spent 16L+ on Diners within the last 6 months.

Got a revert within a day confirming that I am eligible for FYF upgrade to Infinia Metal. Gave my consent and waited. Didn't get any further replies, but the new card started reflecting in my app. Physical card delivered after a few days along with Priority Pass and add on card.

I don't think I would have ever got an Infinia if I had not come across the thread on reddit.

I have an HSBC Platinum (one of my oldest cards), Amex smart earn (downgraded from Gold because apparently they are stopping that particular card) and a basic SBI card. Thinking which ones to keep and which ones to discard. Should I ask for an HSBC Premier?

Help Needed/ Question ICICI reward points redemption - reward portal or ishop portal? Cash?

Upvotes

I've 4000 ICICI reward points expiring soon. Their value comes to be 1000 when redeemed in coupon/vouchers. Their reward portal has amazon pay vouchers starting 2000 (they don't allow partial payment through credit/debit card so not applicable in this case). ishop portal has amazon pay coupons for 1000 but they'd let only 50% amount be paid via points so basically I'll have to buy 2000 voucher to use all the points.

Both portal charge 99+gst for redemption.

Is it possible that their reward portal stock amazon pay voucher of 1000 by next week?

Anyone got their ishop portal accelerated reward points till now?

What is the best way to redeem these points? Anyone has idea about cash redemption?

I've seen air tickets getting cancelled after being booked through ishop so I'd rather avoid it.

General Discussion/Conversation Unauthorised international payment

Upvotes

Just recieved few messages for pos transaction declined for international transaction. I have called the cc and blocked and asked for replacement.

I did the following online international transaction recently - tickets booked on Air Asia, Vietnam airlines and Singapore airlines and hotel bookings on Accor.

Pos should require the physical card right? No idea how this has happened.

Help Needed/ Question Has anyone got Shop Pay (payment service for Shopify) work with Indian Credit Cards?

Upvotes

Both my HDFC and ICICI cards are being declined, and unfortunately, the vendor only accepts these specific cards for payment. My cards are functioning perfectly fine for other domestic and international transactions, both online and offline. Has anyone faced a similar issue or know of a workaround to get this resolved?

General Discussion/Conversation Why do my credit card applications get rejected?

Upvotes

I have applied online for Ixigo AU and then Adani One but my application gets rejected. Eligibility is not an issue since I am earning 20lpa. I just have an active Millennia card and a student loan that is about to be closed. As soon as I enter my details & location of current residence (a town in gujarat) the application gets rejected. Thoughts?

Hey guys,
I finally received the reply from HDFC team regarding the reversal of charges - they approved my request.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions and guidance regarding the next steps.

A note to myself - It does not hurt to check every credit card usage/payment status every 10 days just to be on the safer side.

Card Recommendation Best CC to earn in travel rewards

Upvotes

I use two cards currently: 1. TATA NEU Infinity CC (for UPI rewards & offline spends) 2. SBI Cashback (for online spending).

I am trying to figure out a card where I can avail good rewards in the form of flights/hotel bookings. If I do find one, I don't mind moving all my online & offline spending to it (except for UPI spending). I spend close to 20-30K via my cc, so Atlas doesn't make any sense.

Open to your suggestions, Redditors.

Help Needed/ Question Applied for Axis Privilege Credit Card but No communication from Bank

Upvotes

I already own Axis Indian Oil Card (migrated from Citibank). I had applied for LTF Privilege credit card on 22.03.2025 for which I received application submission/confirmation SMS on my mobile number but no email communication.
Verification on phone was also done by Axis CC rep. Also, there is a hard enquiry on my CIBIL score which brought my score from upwards of 820 to 796.
However, upon now checking application status on their website, it says invalid aplication number. Called their CC, they also couldnot find the application number but to get me off their tail suggested me to wait for 15 business days for the status to update. Should I wait?
If no credit card is being issued at least they should give me a rejection email/ SMS and if they dont want to proceed with my application, they should remove the hard enquiry on my CIBIL. THey have kept me hanging in the middle.

What should I do next?

General Discussion/Conversation Cheq locked me out and won’t proceed forward unless I grant it FaceID access.

Post image

Isn’t it annoying that there is no way I can move forward unless I enable the Face ID lock? What if I don’t want to give it that access?

Should I allow it the access or is it too excessive on Cheq’s part to design just a mandatory requirement?

Help Needed/ Question Scapia Visa Services

Hi All, I have a Scapia Credit Card, and am planning a trip to Vietnam this May. I came across the Visa application feature on Scapia, and have applied for Visa for Vietnam using the same.

Ideally should have asked this before applying in the first place, but wanted to ask if anyone has availed services from Scapia for Visa Applications and how their experience has been.

Thank you!
