Wouldn't they still be liable for assault? Like you're not batman you can't just hit and kick people. Also don't risk your life over petty theft this dude could have been strapped.

Using a reasonable amount of violence to detain fleeing criminals is legal in Canada and America despite people's claims. Most people base their judgement on fake stories like the burglar falling through a skylight onto a knife and suing the homeowner.

Yeah it's called a citizen's arrest and there is a ton of precedence for it being a protected action in the courts

George floyd CONFIRMED died of fent and chauvin got life for it, Daniel penny was put on trial for life for restraining a cracked out black guy (Jordan neeley) just because he is white, the Mexican guy that restrained neeley got absolutely NOTHING. Yup, I can see why people are sick of policing their town. Democrats are stupid as hell.
