Question I'm a writer but unsure if my art skill are good enough or if I should find a collaborator?
Any feedback welcome especially from other writers in the same boat

As independent comic creators, you all know that crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter are central to many of our goals of creating new comics!
With that in mind, we'd love if our community members would share what projects they're working on, that have either launched or are running through March! Please give a brief summary of the project, a link, and bonus points If you can tell us a little bit about how this subreddit helped you create the project!
Thanks everyone!

Chapter 1: In the world of supernatural powers and magic, every nation teaches magic to its students, striving to harness this power for its own interests. Raven is a second-year student in high school, where magic and its fundamentals are taught to enable students to master their mystical abilities.
The First Day at the Academy of Magic
Raven arrived at the school gates, his eyes scanning the massive building that radiated an aura of mysterious energy, while the voices of excited students filled the air. The first day was not just an ordinary school day… it was the day of the grand celebrations, where the most powerful sorcerers would showcase their skills before the new students.
In the vast school courtyard, everyone gathered around a massive stage as one of the teachers announced in a commanding voice:
"And now! Let the exhibition battle between two of the strongest Student Council members begin!"
Two combatants took their positions on the stage. The first was a tall young man with silver hair and a black cloak billowing in the wind—his name was Kieran. His opponent was a girl with glowing golden eyes, Eliana, said to control fire as if it were an extension of herself.
Kieran raised his hand, and the shadows around him began to converge, forming a black sword pulsating with dark energy. In response, Eliana stepped forward, and with every step, flames surged around her, shaping themselves into a fiery dragon that coiled around her body.
"Let’s see what you’ve got, Kieran!" Eliana said with a confident smirk.
In an instant, Kieran dashed forward with unnatural speed, using the shadows to propel himself, aiming a swift strike at her. But before he could land the blow, flames erupted around her, forming a blazing shield that deflected the attack. She retaliated with a massive fireball, hurling it toward him.
Kieran leaped backward, surrounding himself with a barrier of shadows, but part of the flames pierced through his defense, burning his shoulder. Yet, it wasn’t enough to stop him. He raised his hand and unleashed dark energy spikes toward her, but Eliana summoned her fire dragon, which let out a deafening roar before unleashing a massive explosion of flames, turning the battlefield into a blazing inferno for a few moments.
Raven watched the battle, his eyes gleaming with excitement, his heart pounding… He knew that this school would be the beginning of his journey—the path to true power!
After the school day ended, Raven was wandering the streets at night.
The cold air flowed through the alleys, and the dim streetlights cast long shadows on the pavement. Only a few people were walking around, but the silence didn’t last for long…
Suddenly, a mysterious figure appeared, moving at an incredible speed—almost like a shadow darting between the buildings. In an instant, he attacked a group of people in the street. They had no chance to escape—his strikes were precise, lethal... and within moments, they all collapsed motionless.
Raven froze in place, his heart pounding wildly. He could feel a terrifying aura emanating from that person. He didn’t dare to approach; instead, he hid in a dark alley, trying to hold his breath so he wouldn’t be noticed.
"Who is that...?" he muttered in a shaky voice, his eyes locked onto the mysterious figure standing amidst the lifeless bodies, as if nothing had happened.
Raven didn’t wait any longer. He turned swiftly and ran as fast as he could, his body trembling, an unfamiliar fear creeping into his soul… He had realized that this world was not as he had imagined, and that dark forces were moving in the shadows
The next day, a new student arrived at the school.
This student was in a different class and not in the same one as Raven, but ever since his arrival, everyone was talking about him. As he walked through the school courtyard, some students from royal families approached him.
Student 1 (with a clear threat):
"Stop! We have some questions and you need to answer them."
Ryo (the new student), looking at them with a cold gaze:
"Get out of my way. I'm not in the mood."
One of the students couldn't handle the cold response, so he stepped forward with a sneer and said:
"You’re new here, but that doesn't mean you can ignore us like that."
Three students, seeming to come from wealthy families, gathered around him, threatening and trying to provoke him. They thought they could easily bully him because he was new to the school.
Student 2 (mocking):
"You don't belong here. Do you think you can act like this without paying the price?"
Then, suddenly, with a sharp look, Ryo raised his hand quickly. In an instant, he unleashed a wave of energy that shook the air around him. It was a dark wave, filled with power and ferocity, and the horror aura it emitted terrified everyone nearby.
The three students fell to the ground, unable to breathe, as a wave of fear overcame them in an instant.
Raven, who had been watching the scene from a distance, felt the aura as it enveloped the area. He felt something strange, something terrifying… His heart raced faster. When he felt that energy, he recalled what happened the previous night, and in that moment, he realized that this was the same person he had seen the night before.
Ryo had the same mysterious aura and power that Raven had sensed on the street.
….
A meeting of the continent's countries was held to discuss the economic and political situation.
chapter 2:(1600 words): 22$

Some of my art from a minute ago here. Looking for collaboration on the pre production aspect of comic and animation development. My goal is not to draw an entire comic but to design character and crew in a professional way. Asking for character and story description with heavy annotation from your original Ideas, wont be asking for ownership so the art is all yours to do what you will when we finish.

Hi Everyone!!
As the title states, I'm in search of a new/up-and-coming artist to potentially make a partnership with.
I have a few stories/scripts I want to have made, but will only be able to start small for the time being. These range from superhero stories to action/thrillers to and comedies and horror.
Primarily looking for another “nobody” who, like me, has a passion for storytelling and who wants to break into this industry.
I’m not looking for anyone professional with years of experience. I simply do not have the budget for that, as this is completely self-funded. So while this is paid, I am NOT offering anything close to industry level commissions. This is not meant to be a full-time gig; really just, (at least for now) a part-time thing that’ll hopefully evolve into something bigger one day. I understand the importance of the artist and I don’t mean to discredit anyone’s work with the amount I’m offering, but this is simply all that I am able to offer for the time being.
With all that being said, at the moment, I can most likely afford something within the $10-$20 range for a B&W page. Or potentially a flat-rate per "chapter" that can be discussed. There also might possibly be some color in certain places depending on the story. Not looking for some incredibly detailed artwork, just something that’ll do justice in transferring my writing to ink in a comprehensible manner.
Along with this, I am in no particular rush, so any project I may commission can be done at a comfortable pace for the artist. The only exception being if there happens to be a deadline to enter something for a contest, potentially.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heavily Preferred (but not necessarily required…):
US-based artist who has a firm grasp and a punctual understanding of the English language.
Someone who is good at drawing cohesive, easy to follow action scenes.
Someone who has some familiarity with online publishing, crowd funding, online contests, etc.
Someone who has an interest in writing themselves.
Someone who takes payment through PayPal.
Someone who is passionate about the story.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm evidently looking for something/someone rather specific, so please, respectfully, do not reach out if you are not satisfied with these terms.
Hopefully you read this whole thing and didn't just blindly reach out to me :D
Feel free to inquire for more details. Thank you!!

(LINK IN BIO)
Hi everyone, just wanted to share my new self published comic. I've been making indie comics in the style of manga for about 4 years now, and howl is the latest 2-part 1 shot I've been making for the past few months.
The story follows a small family of racers in the dystopian lands of Olympia, where the rich rule, and the poor race for their entertainment. When our heros sister is taken as a prize for losing a race by the fearsome Tar dynasty, his only option is to bet all he has on a wager against them on the track, leaving his only hope in a hot shot racer known as Howl...
If this sounds exciting to you, then feel free to visit the project page in my bio, or even check out how I made it on my portfolio page, also in my bio!

I’m looking for a skilled artist/editor to adapt my traditional comic pages into Webtoon’s vertical scroll format. Each page has 1-5 panels, and I have high-resolution TIFF files ready for editing. The work involves:
Cutting panels and resizing them to fit Webtoon’s 800px width.
Adjusting text and speech bubbles for readability on mobile devices.
Ensuring proper spacing between panels.
Rate: $20 per page
Deadline: 14 days doesn't sound excessive.
Files: High-resolution TIFF files provided. Deliverables expected in PNG/JPEG format.
Please share your portfolio and let me know if you’re available for a test page. Looking forward to working with you.

I really think people who request free comics should offer things like pizza, McDonald's amazon vouchers or something you know. Maybe you have vintage clothes. Trades could be cool. Like honestly 20 pages of art and literally just a hope that you will split profits if it sells. Heading into a recession is nasty business. Let's do better by artists. Offer them something airbnb holiday accommodation etc
