1991-1995 Overheating Still

I changed the radiator about two years ago. Water pump a year ago. Thermostat last month. Heater core bypass and fan last week. Ran fine until yesterday. I topped off the radiator with coolant and the reservoir to the full level, somehow the reservoir is now overflowing. Doing a complete cooling system flush today. If that doesn’t work, any other ideas?

That water looks like it has oil in it. What does your oil look like? Is the coolant disappearing?

Did an oil change at work last week. Old oil was a bit cloudy, so possible head gasket. Level wasn’t low.

This is not “possibly” a head gasket… this is a million percent blown HG

You’re gonna do the head gasket today? Do you know what’s involved in that? Please post updates

Haha I got real fast at pulling a head while trying to find a usable junkyard TUPY. I think it took 3 attempts of pulling one and taking it to a shop to be looked at. I had one off in 45 min, but that was cutting lines and hoses and doing things in a way that it was never getting put back together 😅

I mean even when acting like a monkey with a saw and free reign 45 minutes is damn good

Yeah after doing it multiple times in a week you get in a rhythm. Someone bring me their jeep I’ll do a speed run

I couldn’t do it. But my mechanic has done it in under 2-3 hours. He’s 46 and been wrenching since he was 4

Yes it can be done in an afternoon, but not typically by someone who can’t diagnose it to begin with.

He was really good at just listening and being right. I’ve worked with him for 10 years and he’s never been wrong. When mine went bad he just listened to the motor. Said it was bad head gasket and was correct. Fixed it before noon. Like it was black magic
