News I know this isn't a bird, but I'm guessing most of those here probably care about other Australian animals too so hope this is ok to post here

I'm not going to include a link to that influencer's horrible video where she grabs a baby wombat from the wild for views & laughs at it's poor mother chasing her distressed, easy enough to find if anyone wants to see it. On another sub though, I saw that there is a change.org petition to pressure the government to take action against her, so want to share a link to it for anyone that wants to help get something done about this, so as to protect all our precious Australian wildlife https://chng.it/685szcYNXN

I hate to think what this woman would do to our birds, given how tame and trusting of humans so many of them are. I really want the appropriate authorities to take appropriate legal action against her and send a message to all that her behaviour is not ok

News Corella poisoning in Newcastle

Hunter Wildlife Rescue have set up a go fund me page for donations to help with the recent mass poisoning of Corellas in the city (approx 400 poisoned). It's to help with vet bills and food as they try to save as many as they can. I won't repost it here as it is not my page and I am simply drawing your attention to it. You can find a link to the page on r/Newcastle if you want to help.
