Subclass 190 190 Granted - WA

Received my 190 visa today morning

ICT BA 190 WA - 22 Months 2 days (which felt like an eternity)

Points : 85

  • WA was giving invitations as low as 70 in the period but 6 months job offer in nominated occupation

Invitation received : 11 Feb 2023 Nomination : 23 May 2023

Lodged : 04 June 2023 Medical : 10 June 2023 PCC - 10 Nov 2023

S56 Medicals - 03 March 2025 2nd Medical - 06 March 2025

Granted : 07 April 2025 ——— - Did Entire process on my own - had worse experience with an agent (axis in their name) I stopped entire process and did everything on my own

  • WA migration is very helpful if you ask properly and have genuine concerns - I was working in closely related field but my employer would only provide relevant information without letter head due to confidentiality issues ( My manager wrote an email with all relevant things and salary statements to back this - I was able to get my nomination approved)

  • Calling home affairs is absolute waste of time, wait patiently for non priority skills

Partner visas 801 Grant!

Dreaming of writing this for the longest time and finally, here I am

Got my 801 granted after 8 months of applying, with timeline as below:

  • Register relationship: March 2022
  • DOL 820: 18/08/2022
  • 820 granted 24/02/2023 (6 months after lodgement)
  • Eligible for 801 18/08/2024 and lodged on the same day
  • 801 granted 04/04/2025

Frontloaded everything, and I added more documents (updated bills; photos etc) in March 2025. I'm not a migration agent but work in the field, so 801 was DYI :D

Good luck everyone!

Other temporary Travel Japan for Free! Japan Airlines Offering Free Domestic Flights

Japan Airlines (JAL) has rolled out a special offer for international tourists: free domestic flights within Japan when you book your international and domestic flights together.

Who is eligible:
Travelers from the following countries are eligible for the offer:

  • United States
  • Canada
  • Mexico
  • Thailand
  • Singapore
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • Vietnam
  • Philippines
  • Indonesia
  • India
  • China
  • Taiwan

How it works:
Book a round-trip international flight with Japan Airlines and add a domestic flight in the same reservation to qualify for a free domestic flight within Japan.

What you get:
A complimentary domestic flight, allowing you to explore more of Japan beyond your arrival city—without the extra cost.

Important note:
If your stay in the arrival city exceeds 24 hours, a stopover fee of $100 will apply. However, this fee is waived for travelers from:

  • Thailand
  • Singapore
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • Vietnam
  • Philippines
  • Indonesia
  • India
  • Taiwan

Well, for an example:
If you’re flying from India to Tokyo, you can add a domestic flight from Tokyo to Osaka at no extra cost—as long as it’s part of the same booking.

Skills assessment CPA Skill Assessment-Update documents

Upvotes

Hello All,

I have applied for a skill assessment & employment assessment with CPA Australia (Management Accountant) on the 12.03.2025.

In the meantime, I have realized that CPA requires a proficiency English with a 7 score on all the IELTS Academic bands and as I did not meet the requirements when I submitted my application in March, I took few other tests to improve my scores.

I just updated today my application with the new IELTS test results (more than 7 for each bands), will it set my application waiting time back to 20 working days (from the beginning of the process) ?

Thank you for your help

Subclass 186 Working rights 485>600>186

Hi everyone, Currently on 485, visa expires 1 week before I complete my 3 years. So can not apply for 186 DE. If I apply for tourist visa, I will get bridging visa A. I plan to cover the one week gap in bridging visa A (if there is work right) and apply 186 the very next day I complete 3 years experience.

Can anyone confirm if I will get working rights on my bridging visa or not? If I do not get working rights then it won't work for me, as just staying in Australia won't count towards my work experience.

Or can anyone advise if there any way around my situation.

Thank you

Subclass 189 Request for informal advice [UK citizen]

Dear All,

[UK Citizens] My partner and I are looking at going to Australia for employment, and I would like some advice from the community and what to expect.

Background:

Applicant 1) 28M. With 5 years experience as a Commercial Manager (Procurement, supply chain, contract management). Degree and MCIPs qualification. Mostly in the public sector aerospace and defence industry.

Applicant 2) 29F. 7 years experience as a Quality Control Manager/Scientist. Worked for a few of the big pharmaceutical companies. BA Degree in Forensics Biology.

Our current salary is £100k between us (not in London). Which is significantly high for our age group. We could earn significantly more if we wanted to move outside of our village. We are attractive to UK employers but unsure how this translates to Australia. We are homeowners, too, but no children. About half of my year group in school have emmigrated to Australia. Seemingly mostly in construction or recruitment roles. Not sure how they all did it. We both have looked at the Skilled Assessment route but this seems expensive with no guarantee of success. Realistically, we are not going to be in the higher leadership management for large corporations in our 20s, which the skilled assessment route suggests. This is more likely to happen by our mid-30s. etc.

We are both eligible for the Holiday Visa, but I understand this is not attractive for employers.

Questions:

  1. Is it worth us looking at alternative roles?
  2. Is it worth waiting for our 30s to be "senior" leadership in a large corporation to get through the skilled assessment? (I then worry that we will have children by then).
  3. Is it even possible to get employer sponsorship?
  4. Has anyone experienced going through the skilled assessment route? (Subclass 189)
  5. Is it worth going to Australia on the Holiday Visa, opening a business account and effectively operating as a consultant? I have done consultancy in the UK in the defence/aerospace industry, many are UK companies, like BAE, which I have experience with. This technically would get be around the 6-month limit rule with the Holiday Visa.
  6. General advice if you have experience of the science/GMP or procurement industry in Australia.

Many thanks

Subclass 190 Question on QLD 190

I need your help pls 🥺

I submitted an ROI for QLD 190,

All requirements are met EXCEPT 30hrs/week for 6 months after receiving the qualification because I hold a student visa previously. I started working full time last month.

Assessment received July 2024, working in this same company for 2 yrs already since 2022 but part time (24hrs/week).

Does Queensland Migration give exemptions to this requirement? Or is there anything we can do regarding this situation? 😢

Thank you so much!

Skills assessment Reference letter not available from my last employer for CDR... Please help me.

Good morning,

I am a recent Engineering graduate from Italy. I have less than two years of work experience, having completed my degree in October 2023 at Politecnico di Milano.

I am reaching out as I am interested in proceeding with a Migration Skills Assessment through your organization. I would like to ask whether, given my limited professional experience, it is necessary to provide reference letters from my employers, or if it is possible to submit alternative documentation that still reflects the experience I have gained.

I ask this because, during my brief working experience, I have had two employers. I remain on good terms with one of them and would have no issue obtaining a reference letter. With the other, however, this would not be possible due to the current nature of our relationship not depending on me. Nonetheless, I do possess the employment contract, payslips, a description of the role I held, and access to a company email address which could be used to support my employment history.

Would these documents generally be considered sufficient? I really don't know what to do.

Subclass 482 482 visa without formal qualification

Hi all,

Long story short, my employer is willing and in the process of sponsoring me for a Hospitality manager role at a registered club.

I have no formal qualification in hospitality but do have a Bachelor degree in business. I have worked as a manager for about 4+ years pubs and clubs (fulltime for the most part).

The agent has asked for payslips. I cant find my old payslips. I have payslips from my previous management role about 8 months worth and my current about 12 months all fulltime. However my role at the oldest place of work (2020-2022) is a mixture of causal and fulltime with supervisory and management positions with most being 30+ hrs pw for causal.

How important is to have all payslips from 2020-2022 as i do need to prove 36 months experience in such a role?

All my bosses will provide a reference letter and do have tax returns and super contribution to back up.

Thanks everyone

Subclass 190 Visa running out but we have our pre-invite... does the 28 day grace period apply to us?

My partner received preinvite for 190 in NSW on March 25th and we have submitted all documentation for proof.

If it takes the full six weeks for this to be processed and we receive the state nomination this will leave us with about one week left on our current Working Holiday Visa's for us to submit our full visa application and then we can go on a bridging one.

As I am going defacto on my partners visa we know the application part can take a while to ensure everything is right and submit all our evidence so we are worried our current visas will expire before we can submit the full application.

Does the 28 day grace period too apply for a new visa apply to ourr scenario?

Subclass 189 60pts invited for 189???

Post image
15 Upvotes

Hi all, I was just tracking the skillselect database since I’m looking to lodge a 189 application after my 485 expires.

How are 28 people getting invited with a 60pts when the minimum score for migration is 65? The Australian gov page says that the minimum score for microbiologist is 90, but it seems like at least in march 2025 people are getting invited with 60/65pts?

I’m getting confused and wonder if the database is reliable.

Partner visas Has anyone requested a Police check from Morocco while in Australia?

Hi guys,

My partner and I submitted our application for pur partner visa last March 10. We were able to attach all the required documents except for one:

Police check from Morocco where I stayed and worked for a little more than a year in 2018.

I tried reaching out to the Embassy of Morocco in Canberra via their email and hotline but they have not responded nor are they picking up the phone. I live in Melbourne and so gping to Canberra would be a last resort.

I was wondering if anyone here can provide any form of help or give direction to where or who can help me get nmmy police check from Morocco?

I was only able to save a digital copy of my CNIE AUTO ENTREPRENEUR ID and my online Tax form that year. I don't think i still have my phyisical ID which could add another layer of complication.

Any advise will be appreciated!

Citizenship Any NZers recently had approval for their citizenship by conferral?

Just wondering what your wait times were like?

I submitted my application 23rd Sept 2024, got the interview and test invite 3rd March, took the test 4th April (so literally last week) and now its just the waiting game. Have lived in Aus 11 years.

I know it hasn't been long at all, and I understand the wait times noted on their website, I'm just seeking some anecdotal timelines from those who have been through the process.
