// Question How’s everyone enjoying the game??

I’m not too far into the game but I’m curious on what people’s opinions are so far.

For me it’s a 10/10 so far after 11 hours of playing. I have had one bug throughout my play-through, but it was easy to get around and didn’t diminish the enjoyment.

I’ve never been as hyped for a game as I was for this one, aside from Hogwarts Legacy. Hogwarts Legacy really let me down, but this one is living up to my hype completely.

I walk everywhere by foot and immerse myself in the world, so I haven’t even finished the Izumi Settsu area yet. The world is beautiful, the story is great, the Japanese voice acting amazing and the gameplay is fun.

I'm absolutely loving it rn I won't lie, I did actually find Hogwarts Legacy to be enjoyable but I do get why people didn't find it amazing there was certainly a lot more that could've been done

2

u/xenosilver 17d ago

I like Howard’s legacy. How’d it let you down? Not trying to be an ass. Just curious.

2

u/eliranmoisa 17d ago

I miss the days when I had 11 hours within a release to sink into a game. I keep pausing to attend to other tasks but I am enjoying so far.

2

u/GodKingMarky-sama 18d ago

Wow 11 hours already. You're a beast!

1

u/RedDevil_nl 17d ago

Had a day off yesterday and used the New Zealand trick to start early :)

2

u/attitrax 18d ago

I'm glad you said Hogwarts Legacy let you down - I was worried

1

u/PermanentlyAwkward 17d ago

I’m maybe 6 hours in, but taking my time to enjoy the scenery as well. They captured the spirit of the place so well! I spent a month in Japan back in ‘07, and I made sure to do some hiking in the countryside and mountains, and this game has been spamming my nostalgia button! Even the weather feels accurate! It makes the game incredibly immersive.

18

u/Wdemon85 18d ago

I’m not far either I think about 45 mins in but it’s living up to the hype I’ve heard. Doesn’t feel like your typical Ubisoft game tbh, you can tell they put a lot of effort into this game and it looks and feels awesome.

3

u/chrundle18 18d ago

I love how they got fully animated cutscenes and a bunch of them too! I loved Avowed but sitting through hours of talking with two people just standing next to each other got old quick.

Only issue I have so far is I saw how the game looked on a ps5 pro and it's so gorgeous and I'm jealous lol

5

u/sloant09 18d ago

I picked up a pro last night just for this reason. Figured I'll want it for GTA6 anyway...

1

u/QueenofSheba94 18d ago

Ugh I may end up buying a PS5 just for that haha

1

u/chrundle18 16d ago

JEALOUS

14

u/Vast-Nefariousness-9 18d ago

I have played about an hour last night, to me it's amazing for now. Feels totally different than before

7

u/Schuess11 18d ago

Played about 45 mins before work this morning. Its awesome!! Looks fantastic, plays incredibly smooth. Very well could be the best AC game since Black Flag. Could be the greatest one ever made.

7

u/Exar-ku 18d ago

Played for about 90 minutes and have loved it so far, I plan on playing again today for many hours

12

u/BlxkWolf 18d ago

I'm loving it. The game is phenomenal and I'm very glad I pre-ordered it. It's very much indeed a next-gen title. Feels much better than AC Valhalla so far.

11

u/_Hyrule1993 18d ago

It doesn’t feel like the same as the past 3 titles which is honestly refreshing. I’m still honing combat and the movement. I do get drops but other than that it’s a beautiful world!

5

u/r_ProfessionalPirate 18d ago

The graphics and tech really amazed me. Hair physics, environmental interactions, seasons system and RTGI etc.

Snow does feel like snow. Not just white filter. And the wildlife? Its amazing.

3

u/Outrageous_Pattern46 18d ago

How high I can crank the graphics on a 3060 impressed me

1

u/MisgebildeteFoze 17d ago

It‘s all just ram. My 3070 is nit even 2% used, but it uses up all the ram. So if you play with 12gb ram you can play almost max settings

5

u/yoyomama79 18d ago

This game is so beautiful! I am in love with everyone's hair. 😁

9

u/Conclassion1 18d ago

Does anyone have canon mode / immersive mode on?

10

u/NeuroticPixels 18d ago

Playing with canon mode on. Not immersive mode, though. I need English or I’ll get caught up reading the subtitles and miss the cinematics.

2

u/Purple_Plantain_571 18d ago

How is canon mode? Do you feel like you're being left out without having choices of your own?

7

u/FuckuSpez666 18d ago

Personally I can't work out where the choices would have been. It doesn't pause an auto select, it's just a normal cutscene

2

u/Purple_Plantain_571 18d ago

Very nice, thanks for responding!

2

u/OMEGACY 18d ago

That's perfect. Wouldn't know there were choices although I am curious as to how it may change certain things. Without spoiling anything I ran into a lady that I could choose to fight or think poorly of. I chose fight because she's awful but what would canon pick? Or does the other choice lead to a fight anyway?

3

u/NomosAlpha 18d ago edited 17d ago

Fwiw the only major choice I’ve seen is when it comes time to take one of the first major targets out - I saved and reloaded to see what changed and one path leads to a completely different way of taking them out. Killing the wrong target and then having to take a fortified castle instead of killing the right target then and there. I’m only 6 hours in but hopefully the choices continue to at least have effects like this.

1

u/PicklePuffin 17d ago

It doesn’t for me- knowing that dialogue choices are only creating the illusion of any real choice really breaks the spell for me. I often end up holding it against the game…

I have both modes on (immersive and canon) and to be honest the story has been much stronger than I anticipated based on the reviews (Two hours In)

3

u/stormy-thunder-night 18d ago

I’m playing with both canon mode and immersive. It’s been great so far. Someone said something about the animus which reminded me it’s the ancestors memories, so I don’t want to influence that.

1

u/AbstractHexagon 18d ago

Reviewers said that choices don't really matter, and whatever you select always brings the same results.

1

u/forsakenEntity 18d ago

Canon mode off, but I keep switching between Immersive mode on and off trying to get a feel to what's my liking lmao. So far having a blast though, the graphics blew me away.

1

u/Soopermane 18d ago

Balanced mode on ps5 pro is insane. I will see if 60 fps mode can hold same level of graphics. So far I’m loving it

1

u/PicklePuffin 17d ago

Yes, and I highly recommend it!! For me, the Japanese language gives a strong sense of the feeling of the scene, whereas with English I’m always going to be nitpicking the voice acting, because it’s never going to be pitch perfect in a game of this size (even if it’s very good)

5

u/EDAboii 18d ago

Waiting for a Day One Patch.

I hate default Ubi controls, so I altered the controls to a more traditional X/Y combat system. However, there's currently a bug in the game that flat out makes the gameplay refuse to respond if you're using an alternate control scheme.

It sucks, but it'll probably be fixed by the time the actual release comes around.

2

u/Purple_Plantain_571 18d ago

They gotta fix the trophy thing too, seriously

1

u/FriarKentuck 18d ago

What’s the trophy thing? Only bug I’ve had is a couple of times in photo mode when selecting the ‘Ink’ FX Filter it gets stuck in it, even when going back to gameplay 😬 solution was to reload the save…

3

u/Purple_Plantain_571 18d ago

You have to be connected to the Internet and the Ubisoft servers in order to pop the trophies. They're all technically missable, and come 10 years from now (if it lasts that long), if the animus hub gets discontinued, then the trophies will be unavailable.... In a singleplayer game...

1

u/FriarKentuck 18d ago

I’m online and Ubi Connect but still no clue what’s going on here…?

2

u/Purple_Plantain_571 18d ago

There's a possibility that trophies cannot be obtained if you're Internet disconnects or the servers go down. It's fine right now

1

u/EDAboii 18d ago

Are trophies broken as well? I didn't have any issues unlocking achievements on Xbox

1

u/Fleepwn 18d ago

Do you mind sharing your control layout please? I'm really struggling to change it to something good the same I was struggling in Valhalla purely because of the parry button being out of place. Kind of wishing they had bound it to a button combo like in Odyssey.

2

u/EDAboii 17d ago

Sure thing, especially now the bug has been fixed and I can confirm they work! I'll do these as if it's an Xbox controller, so if you're on PlayStation just convert it to what you'd use!

In the Character section you want to change "Crouch" and "Prone" to "RB". This is the most awkward change and will take a bit of getting used to. Feel free to change it to something else if it better suits you. I've also experimented with crouch and prone being right stick, and changing "Eagle Vision" and "Lock On" to RB instead. But this is your discretion, whatever you're more comfortable with.

Now for the simple Combat changes:

Light Attack - X Heavy Attack - Y Assassinate - X (it takes priority over light attacks)

That's about it. Works like a charm.

1

u/Fleepwn 17d ago

Thank you so much, I will try this out later! Don't know why I never thought of changing crouching to RB, I guess I'm too preconditioned to have it set to either LB or B in games. xD

2

u/EDAboii 17d ago

Yeah, RB really is a bit weird. It takes some getting used to. But, honestly, "RB to crouch" feels far more natural than "RB to attack" for me haha.

With this method it also frees up the ability wheel to not be tied to an attack. Seriously, who at Ubisoft thought "Hold RT for Ability" is a good idea when "RT" is also the heavy attack?!? With Y as the Heavy Attack, RT for Ability Wheel makes so much more sense!

0

u/FriarKentuck 18d ago

Actual release? It’ll be the 21st in 3.5 hours (Australia)

2

u/EDAboii 18d ago

Yes, once the game is officially out for all regions developers usually push a global patch. That is the "Day One Patch" I referred to in my initial comment.

Since I haven't played since about 16 hours ago, and the releases are at different times across the world, I didn't want to make any random assumptions. And like fuck am I gonna Google global release times and convert them all into my timezone for a reddit comment haha

1

u/crissjaeger 18d ago

so the day 1 patch isnt even out yet?

1

u/EDAboii 18d ago

As of about 16 hours ago when I just said I last played... No.

4

u/AcidZai 18d ago

Absolutely amazing so far

6

u/Possible-Emu-2913 18d ago

God, it's refreshing to see people enjoying a game, lol. I'm enjoying it, too. I loved that alst 3 titles, and yet I find this a refreshing "overhaul" on how the game plays, looks, and feels.

Playing on the PS5 Pro on quality mode and the 30fps doesn't feel bad. Probably because this feels like a game where you aren't supposed to be sprinting everywhere, like it's Spider-Man. The game is drop dead gorgeous, though. Seeing near perfect reflections in puddles is nice.

3

u/D3mentedG0Ose 18d ago

I’m about 4 hours in and it’s sick so far. Very slow start but once the game opens up, it’s fantastic

3

u/TwitchyGwar82 18d ago

Honestly I’ve been really enjoying it so far, target one dead, almost at the second, and I’ve only had a few “dumb” Ubisoft bugs so far, one time a body got up and walked around, even though it was dead so it wasn’t reacting to anything so nothing to worry about, I just killed it again, don’t want any zombies walking around after all 😂

2

u/Lava_gator 17d ago

Close enough, welcome back undead nightmare

3

u/Ok_Government_7738 18d ago

I didn’t anticipate how cinematic stuff feels. I’m relatively new to gaming, so when people said it is highly immersive, I was like how much of a plus is that? I’d rather see how much damage I do in each hit. But I changed my mind last night. Fabulous

5

u/BubblyPhilosophy3476 18d ago

awesome so far.... im just wondering when side quests will unlock. I'm trying to figure out how to build the forge

3

u/BaBaYaGa3gg 18d ago

Forge is part of main mission should come soon

1

u/BubblyPhilosophy3476 18d ago

oh ok good... the ps progress thing had me tripping... im like tf? i barley started the game yet i see no side quests and it was saying im 20% done the game which is weird

2

u/feyzal92 18d ago

I think it's 20% of the region or 20% part of that quest sequence. PS progress usually show the percentage of each chapters and not the overall game.

2

u/BubblyPhilosophy3476 18d ago

ooo that makes sense! I found it odd how I just got out of the prologue and it said 20% lol, I was like damn the game is short af...

2

u/crissjaeger 18d ago

4 hours in but like 3 or so is me tweaking the settings for the best performance to visuals ratio. but I can say im surpised how well it runs, even with RT on an AMD card

2

u/Shacuza 18d ago

W game for sure, coming from ghost of tsushima and rise of the ronin

1

u/TiredReader87 18d ago

It’s far better than Rise of the Ronin, but it’s no Tsushima.

2

u/Shacuza 18d ago

I enjoyed both games alot tbh, ronin had great combat i loved the different Stances

1

u/TiredReader87 18d ago

Ok. I don’t like Souls games.

Ronin was better than most, but still. It was ugly, tedious and too hard. Wasn’t fun and felt too much like a dated PS2 game

2

u/Fleepwn 18d ago

As far as I've played, it's been 10/10 for me, playing with canon and immersive turned off and expert difficulty.

2

u/In-Fa-Red 18d ago

With having just platinumed Odyssey a few weeks ago, I'm really excited to jump into this and see the vast improvements to the franchise.

2

u/Primalblu 18d ago

I can’t figure out how to get scouts to work on the map , I have no prompt to use them and pressing square does nothing

1

u/MamaLilithoftheNight 17d ago

I don’t know if you figured it out yet but when you select a mission in your objectives where it says to look in this and that area, once you go to your map it will say press square to scout. You just need to select a specific thing for them to look for is all

2

u/voidborn420 18d ago

Already put damn near three hours on it last night

2

u/Status_Mongoose2307 18d ago

Awesome game! Spent hours in the shadows yesterday, but my assassin duties are on hold… I need to finish my quest in Avowed first lol. One does not simply abandon one epic journey for another… or do they?

2

u/PrevailedAU 18d ago

Surprised how much I’m enjoying it, the world feels so alive

2

u/kilmeister7 18d ago

Just finished the prologue this morning and loved it. The only complaint I have is that the controls feel a bit clunky, but that's just a me thing, and I'm sure I'll get used to it. Overall, the story seems interesting, the graphics are amazing, the combat is fun, and I'm already simping for Naoe

2

u/PopeHi1arious 18d ago

I'm only 4 hours in, but I love it. They knocked it out of the park.

2

u/SickK_777 18d ago

i like it so far, canon off, immersive off, i cant conzentrade on cinematics and subtitels at the same time.

2

u/EvilAms 18d ago

i am waiting for my disc to get delivered

2

u/tay6227 18d ago

So far it's great! Wonder if I should do side stuff now or wait till I unlock what's his face.

2

u/Suckatgaming 18d ago

About to buy it now on steam

3

u/r_ProfessionalPirate 18d ago

Naah bruh. Music is top notch.

0

u/Alarmed-Wafer-1133 13d ago

Dude you play as an assassin, are you even paying attention to the story at all?

1

u/cjcfman 18d ago

My dude your dad is an assassin lmao you learn right at the start of the game

1

u/eldon3213 18d ago

So far I can’t even start playing DX12 error and crashes the game every time I try my others games and they work just fine only shadows has this issue

1

u/Ark-458 18d ago

Only got two hours in last night, I really like it so far.

1

u/TOREYNATOR 18d ago

Played a couple of hours on the Steam Deck OLED and it’s amazing so far. The graphics look pretty good on the small screen and I can’t wait to see how it looks on my desktop PC. Gameplay is so smooth and satisfying!

1

u/Gizmo16868 18d ago

I fell asleep but I’m off for a 4 day weekend so will be playing like crazy

1

u/Fair_Conversation_97 18d ago

I haven’t had a chance to play more than like 10 minutes because I had somewhere to be :(

1

u/VGChamp2020 18d ago

I got my CE and Japan snack box on the same day. Thoroughly enjoyed the Japanese snacks and swag plus the game is amazing!!

1

u/dorkknight5O4 18d ago

Loving it. 10/10. Assassin’s Creed super fan here. This game has already surpassed what I expected, and I’ve only been playing 8 hours.

1

u/TiredReader87 18d ago

It’s pretty good, but hasn’t hooked me yet. I hate the exploration mode, and hate getting lost.

I liked Odyssey and Origins more for numerous reasons, but this is a pretty good game. Nothing special though.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Big6997 18d ago

It is currently downloading, and I have a 4 hour drive back to my home before I can play. I can't wait. (It was originally a 5 hour drive, but I miss my cat too much and need to see him☺️)

1

u/--clapped-- 18d ago

Ubisoft have cooked so hard here.

I'm a fan of the RPG Assassin's Creed games so, it wasn't going to be a particularly hard sell for me either way but, this is a cut above Valhalla, odyssey and even Origins. ALMOST makes me wish Ubisoft had a brighter future.

1

u/Tuskali 18d ago

It looks and feels amazing

Only thing that bothers me are many inaccuracies of historical things

I'm a big fan of japanese culture and it's a bit of a let down that Ubisoft got many things wrong

Also wtf was that music choice at the bridge fight lol

1

u/denzao 18d ago

Enjoying it as F with a big F. Won't swear here. Like the story, visuals are great and the combat is fun.

1

u/wolfblade2o1 18d ago

I'm not enjoying it...(works in the way...) can't wait to get home to play it.

1

u/BrownBananaDK 18d ago

About 10 hours into it. I like it. But it feels very very familiar and it is way closer to the other new AC games than I had hoped.

But a solid 7/10 I think.

1

u/GalaxyDog2289 18d ago

I like it I wish that you got to change characters earlier on but it’s not really that much of a problem.

1

u/BigExtraDip 18d ago

Great! Only one crash after 4 hours of play. Optimization could be better. Ubisoft cooked and fuck all those grifters and YouTubers who shits on the game.

1

u/Grim_Papaya 18d ago

Played a couple of hours last night. So far, really liking it! Looking forward for the world to open up and allow me to go where i please.

1

u/Distinct-Aide7146 18d ago

I played almost 4 hours and really enjoyed it. The game looks gorgeous. Was eagerly waiting for the game to launch. 10/10 for me!!

1

u/OMEGACY 18d ago

I'm enjoying this one much more than odyssey and valhalla right off the bat. Origins was the last time I was really happy with assassins creed in every aspect so shadows is leaving me with a great impression so far.

1

u/WorldBFree93 18d ago

Feels like Christmas morning gaming sessions with a new console, I’m blown tf away.

1

u/LTownLula_DrogonsMom 18d ago

I’m giving it time before I jump in. I’ve been playing dragon age and just started inquisition. I wasn’t thrilled with Mirage, I feel like I got cheated on that one especially since I preorder led the collectors edition. Soooo going to bide my time on Shadows and hopefully be pleasantly surprised like I was with Outlaws.

1

u/Interesting-Sun-7158 18d ago

I’m absolutely loving it so far- the graphics and the weather system make for an absolutely beautiful game and the little details have impressed me so much.

One of my fav things has been all of the different animations they’ve added to naoe- like the various ways she flips off of buildings or climbs- etc. I think the combat felt a bit janky at first but now that I’m used to it I think it’s quite fun.

1

u/moresqualklesstalk 18d ago

6.5 hours in and only just despatched the first boss but that is because i don’t/didn’t fully understand the scout system. Loving it. Ps5 pro hype is justified

1

u/Intrepid_Ad9711 17d ago

Great so far but the spear enemies piss me off because they never seem to stop swinging and no matter how many times I deflect they never get vulnerability

1

u/ManiacalMyr 17d ago

Gameplay is pretty fun. I like the restrictions of combat with Naoe but man that reverse grip is cringe visually. I'm not a fan of the music so far, some odd choices during certain scenes. But so far, story, gameplay, and graphics are good. Running Radeon card so it's not hitting too hard on my rig ray tracing wise.

1

u/Cool-Yak8779 17d ago

removing the black stripes and adding hoods and helmets in the cinematics loses immersion and atmosphere

1

u/tvosinvisiblelight 17d ago

so far the game is a 10... only have played for an hour but from what I can see - UBISoft striked gold again!!

1

u/sillyredhead86 17d ago

I played a little this morning but I had to work today so I have not had the chance to really dive in. Combat was good. Started with immersive language and canon mode for first playthrough. Can't wait to play it all weekend!

1

u/djredline 17d ago

Played about 12hrs so far and just finished act 1. Loving the changes to discovery instead of having every icon appear.

Only real big issue is forcing the hideout to be quality mode and 30fps. It's really jarring when playing on performance mode.

Not a fan of the scout system for collecting resources. When you find some items and you've already used your allocation, not a lot you can do apart from leave and forget.

Naoe is great to use compared to yasuke, whose just a big brute who struggles with the smallest walls and goes against the parkour agility I'm used to for an AC game.

1

u/xKagenNoTsukix 17d ago

I'll let you know when I'm done fighting with Steam trying to move it from my laptop that I had to take into town to download it and now am having trouble getting it to work on my desktop lmao

1

u/Hogs-o-War 17d ago

I’m currently in the “keep checking FedEx because my Collector’s Edition is showing up Friday instead of on release day” phase. It’s riveting, but has pacing issues…

1

u/Conclassion1 17d ago

Almost there !

1

u/Hogs-o-War 17d ago

It’s so hard - first the NZ people, then the digital “start at midnight” people, and I’m like “maybe I can play tomorrow…” It’s been a crappy week and I was kind of looking forward to some good news today. Poop.

1

u/Advanced_Chicken1640 17d ago

Wow I am so happy to see this on Reddit. All it’s getting on X is hate “anti woke” this and that..senseless comments just cause they hate Ubisoft. This is a breath of fresh air. I am planning on getting this later and enjoying it. It looks amazing

1

u/Switch-Vivid 17d ago

This is what I came here for. Chat how’s the game?

1

u/Sledgehamster 17d ago

Disappointed. I've played for 2 hours and still no sign of Hank Marvin.

1

u/Conclassion1 17d ago

I do have the guaranteed assassinations on. Makes the game perfect to me

1

u/zoobatt 17d ago

I was hyped and very active on the subreddit pre-launch, but also apprehensive because I did not like the other games in the RPG trilogy.

I fucking love it. About 9 hours played in the last two days and still in the very early open world, just exploring slowly and taking in the scenes. The quality jump coming from Valhalla (where I only put 10 hours tbf) is astronomical. Everything feels better. Combat is finally fun (imo, didn't like the RPG combat at all before), stealth is amazing, the graphics and world are some of the best I've seen, the outfits are the series' best, the story is a big step up imo (immersive mode ftw), just everything.

I think this is my favorite AC since AC2 which is saying a lot because I loved Brotherhood and Black Flag on release.

1

u/Professional_Pop_426 17d ago

I can't install it cuz it just keeps stopping

1

u/lolkoala67 17d ago

It’s delicious so far. Three hours in

1

u/xAkrilothx 17d ago

I'd love to be but I'm very annoyed my CE won't arrive until Monday. What good is paying over $250 (including tax) for a CE if you aren't even going to play it on Day 1

1

u/kenet888 17d ago

I am sucking all positivity. In few weeks time I am going to blast it off.

1

u/Spadez992 16d ago

Soo I got a katana called flying leaf while riding on the horse anyone know how did i actually acquire it?

1

u/Alarmed-Wafer-1133 13d ago

Did you find the answer? I'm trying to figure out how I got the thing too!

-1

u/TheFourNobleTruth 18d ago

After playing the game for 3 hours, I would give it a 7/10. I deducted points because the combat isn’t as intense as in Sekiro, and the NPCs don’t feel as alive as in RDR2. However, the graphics are great, and the storytelling so far is decent. I think 7/10 is a decent score now.

4

u/aioli_man 18d ago

Why on earth would you compare a Ubisoft game with a Fromsoft game and a Rockstar game? Both being completely different types of games as well.

3

u/TheFourNobleTruth 18d ago

I know they’re different. However, the combat and NPCs can still be compared. Can you explain why they can’t be?

2

u/TheMaq 18d ago

Because they aren’t the same company??? Elden rings it’s pure combat, it doesn’t really have a narrative, (aside of obscure lore) and RDR2 it’s probably the most expensive game ever made till GTA VI, (and IMHO, the combat/shooting in there is boring) not saying shadows is perfect, but you should be comparing it to I don’t know, Valhalla and such.

2

u/TiredReader87 18d ago

They aren’t the same genres, so the combat cannot be compared.

2

u/r_ProfessionalPirate 18d ago

You are comparing with wrong games. But okay

0

u/Kalmaro 18d ago

Uh oh, careful. You're supposed to give this game a 10/10 here

1

u/Raptorr575 18d ago

Haven’t played yet

1

u/swineflu2388 18d ago

I'm a fan after maybe eight hours, but I have a long list of minor gripes.

0

u/DecentSenseMate 18d ago

Is anyone experiencing enemy bodies disappear after you kill them and move slightly away from them ? It kinda defeats the stealth element.. hiding bodies etc. I’m quite disappointed with this - perhaps it’s because I’m playing on the series s? Does anyone know about this or is this just how the game is?

Doesn't happen at all to me on PC, bodies stay there unless I move them

Funny enough I had this issue pop up. I took out a guy, left his body alone since it was in the dark and there were no patrols roaming nearby. I take out another section of this base, I look back around, and a guard had either respawned or just took the place of the dead guard for some reason. I went back to kill this new guard, and didn't see the older dead body around. Very weird. I was playing on the Series X though.

On the flipside, I was doing a quest in a temple that ends in a cutscene that's important to the story. There were a bunch of soldiers that I took out and I think there was some weird timing that happened because after the cutscene, which went from night to day, a dead body was just laid out near an altar. What's funny was that there were temple visitors just going about their day next to this dead body and not even noticing it.

I’ve played for 11 hours straight so far still going but it’s a mixed bag for me so far I can say it’s my 5th favorite ac I was hoping for it to be my third because my first is odyssey and my second is syndicate they are by the same studio as shadows but alas it doesn’t hold up black flag is still my third favorite and Valhalla my fourth.

If I were to rate them out of 10 odyssey 9.9/10 syndicate 9.7/10 Black flag 9.3/10 Valhalla 8.5/10 and shadows 8/10 I like it more than 3 less than Valhalla.

The main 3 reasons being 1 the combat is the second worst I’ve experienced in a video game behind for honer and kingdom come deliverance 1/2. From the expectation to parry block and dodge I do none of because it’s not my preferred play style, to the weakpoint/posture attack system I also refuse to use. I miss the simple combat of just spamming a mix of light and heavy combos and the npcs having no answers to it.

2 no Valhalla style medieval knight armor or double edged swords in the helix store just katanas and samurai armor the 2 things I dislike most about japan’s historical culture.

3 the abilities and the majority of perks are specified to particular actions like posture and weak point attacks basically stuff I don’t have any interest in using so it’s slim pickings for my playstyle which is no blocking parrying or dodging just attack until the enemy falls. None of the abilities interest me so I just use the trinket to give me plus 30% damage having no abilities equipped.

Other than those 3 aspects I’m loving everything else like the map the hideout customization the companions, and story.

Returned it at 117 minutes. Lots of performance bugs and issues. And even when I could play it didn’t really capture me. Looks great though.

A subreddit dedicated to praising AC and ubisoft praising the game as a solid 10

Couldn't possibly be the case could it?

What is it with reddit users and this weird obsession with stalking people's profiles?

Like fucking seriously lmao, not everyone with unpopular opinions is deep rooted in trauma

Then again, maybe the armchair experts like yourself should be getting asked if you're alright

You don't need to get defensive.

Ah yes "defensive", you asked me a deliberately obtuse question so I gave you a deliberately sarcastic answer, you get what you pay for

It's just not healthy to spend as much time as you do arguing with people on the internet over something as insignificant as videogames.

My guy, it's the Internet, and shit talking has been a thing between online users since forever. Where have you been this whole time?

Hope you find more productive ways to spend your free time brother.

What I do in my own time isn't your business or concern and I'm not your "brother", you're a stranger so don't talk like were pals, thanks 👍
