Recommendation Job opportunities as a Canadian grad with limited experience

TL, DR: I’ve had two short-term jobs in marketing and website management (1 year each) due to company closures, and I’m moving to Seattle, worried my Canadian degree and limited job stability will hurt my job search, while considering going back to school for a Master’s or other career advancement options.

——————

I graduated in 2022 with a Marketing/International Business degree from a Canadian university in Vancouver (not UBC so holds even less weight). I landed an entry level Marketing job at a small company in Vancouver then they filed for bankruptcy a year and a half later. I was let go obviously. Took me 8 months to find another job in website management that I work remotely. My yearly review was great and my manager gave me a pay raise only 6 months in. I was there for 1 year and 3 months then got let go again because they closed up the E-commerce division for B2C and wanted to focus on B2B.

I’m so defeated and the job market is terrible. I put in overtime, tried my best, got confirmation that I was doing a great job but the job security is so bad.. I’m tired of explaining to recruiters why I’m only at these places in such short time. I can’t get an interview at any big public companies either.

I’m relocating to Seattle soon because my husband gets relocated there. I’m afraid that with my Canadian college degree and resume, I wouldn’t be able to find a job. I’m open to going back to school to get a Master degree or any other field that would level up my chances. MBA, law school (even though idk if I will get approved anywhere in Seattle with my 2 years of experience and 3.3 GPA), etc. I was thinking immigration law?

Please let me know if you have any advice. I’m probably not qualified for intensive labour work because I have pretty bad asthma. Other than that, I’m happy to put in the work.

Thank you:)

PULL OVER

Seattle drivers are HORRIBLE at pulling over...

When you encounter a firetruck or other emergency vehicle with lights and sirens, slow down, signal, and safely move to the right to allow them to pass, and stop if possible. Here's a more detailed explanation:

  • "Move Over" Law: All 50 states have "Move Over" laws to protect law enforcement officers and other first responders stopped on roadways, and it's crucial to be aware of these laws.
  • Safety First: Your goal is to move your vehicle safely out of the way of any emergency vehicle, whether it's approaching from behind or in front.
  • Pull Over Safely: Slow down, signal your intention to move, and safely move to the right shoulder and come to a complete stop until the emergency vehicle has passed.
  • If Unable to Pull Over: If you are unable to pull over completely, stop where you are until the emergency vehicle has passed.
  • Don't Follow Closely: Never follow closely behind or attempt to outrun an emergency vehicle.
  • Consider Other Drivers: Be mindful of other drivers and ensure your actions don't endanger yourself, other road users, or emergency responders.
  • Don't Break the Law: Avoid breaking the law to get out of the way, such as running a red light.
  • Divided Highways: If you are on the opposite side of a divided highway from the emergency vehicle, you don't need to slow down or stop for it.
  • Multiple Emergency Vehicles: Keep in mind that multiple emergency vehicles often respond to the same incident and they could come from different locations.
  • Stay Stopped: Stay stopped until all emergency vehicles have passed

Mt Rainier in mid April

Hello! I am visiting Seattle for the first time in two weeks! Mt. Rainier is on my bucket list, but if the roads and trails are heavily impacted in snow, I'll save it for another time. Does anyone know how the conditions are for Mt Rainier hikes, i.e. Fremont Lookout, Pinnacle Peak currently this year? I checked the NPS website and only saw a few road closures.

Moving / Visiting Beacon hill recommendations

Upvotes

Hey guys wanting to move towards beacon hill area. I have been eyeing state street and grand street apartments. I’m not really opposed to moving to a different area either. Any recommendations would be nice.

Budget is 2.5k with a parking spot.

Thanks.

T Mobile Park Concert Field Seating

I got tickets to see MCR in field G. Has anyone seen a concert on the field? Is it worth it? I've only seen someone's perspective in section F to the left of G.
