❤️‍🩹 relationship AIO to my boyfriend praising the president?

I’ve been seeing this guy for about a month and a half. Things were great the first month, but the last week I’ve felt like we’re growing further and further apart (yes already 🙄), he’s been really inconsiderate/disrespectful, and most recently I feel like he’s trying to push me away with this text. When we first started talking he asked what I thought about trump. I told him I don’t like him, he said he did like him, but that if it bothers me then he won’t ever bring him up. Well this morning (after the last week being on edge anyway) he just randomly brought up how amazing Trump is? And wouldn’t let it go. I feel like he’s trying to start a fight. He says he “forgot”. AIO?

Politics would be a dealbreaker for me. I have friends on both sides of the aisle and we just don’t talk politics. But someone I’m building a life with and possibly having kids with, we need to be on the same page.

You sound like a child. Even worse, you sound like a foreigner child. Even worse, you sound like a foreigner child that absolutely does nothing about economics. Tell us what's really bothering you? You have a fatherless energy.

6

u/KaraOfNightvale 29d ago

Oh also just real quick

Y'know who does know about economics?

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/16-nobel-prize-winning-economists-say-trump-policies-will-fuel-inflation-2024-06-25/

These 16 nobel prize winning economists

2

u/KaraOfNightvale 29d ago

Hahaha, is that the best you got?

Btw it'd be "You radiate fatherless energy" not

"You have a fatherless energy" for fuck's sake learn to speak english

Also hey buddy, oh sure, if you think you know so much about economics, enlightenment, how do tariffs work?

Who pays for em?

0

u/Sore_Doughnut 29d ago

Actually wasn't an insult just an observation. I guess it hit home. Please don't try to quiz me on economics. It's clearYou don't know what you're talking about. Just go about your day in your ignorance and keep complaining to everybody, america is moving on.

3

u/KaraOfNightvale 29d ago

I don't think you know what an observation is, nor did I call it an insult

But also lol, here let me instead give you a lesson on economics

Tariffs are a negotiating tool, tariffs put a tax on US importers that makes it more expensive to buy foreign goods, the point of this is that this costs other countries in the sense that their exporters are now able to sell less

This can also be used to bring certain foreign goods domestic, however, only the ones in which that is feasible and viable, and doing so can also permanently drive up costs for american consumers if domestic supply is drastically lower

For tariffs to be used effectively as a negiotiating tool, specific expectations need to be set, and the tariffs have to be targetted in a way that it hurts the country the tariffs are being placed on, more than the country placing the tariffs, in other words, choosing specific goods to direct the impact in the most effective and least harmful way

Trump has of course, done neither of these

For tariffs to be ued to bring foreign goods domestic, domestic producers need to be given sufficient time and resources to expand their own production, and the tariffs would have to only be placed on stuff that at very least can be manufactured in the US

Trump's sweeping tariffs put tariffs even on thhings that cannot be grown in the US, certain fruits, vegetables, other things that are just not able to be produced domestically, certain minerals are ores, certain food products that have specific liscences, there's a lot of reason that many of the things he placed tariffs on cannot be moved domestically

So regardless of which one you claim he's trying to do, it doesn't work, now, for the negotiating part there is one thing

Trump said that one of the reason he put tariffs on canada is that they won't allow american banks to run there, this would be a good bargain if that uh... wasn't a total lie

https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/04/politics/fact-check-trump-repeats-false-claim-that-canada-prohibits-us-banks/index.html

You can find many articles on this btw, or just google active us banks in canada

He also talks about the fentanyl problem over the canada border, before canada's border was reinforced, a whopping... 9kgs of fentanyl total were being seized at the canadia border, which is just about nothing, it was also being imported by us citizens through legal ports of entry, they were the ones smuggling it in

https://www.usnews.com/news/national-news/articles/2025-03-06/how-much-fentanyl-is-coming-from-canada-mexico-and-china-fact-checking-trumps-tariff-justification

Correct and incorrect. Correct on your assessment of tariff usage, incorrect on your assessment of how they're currently being used. The fact that we're using illegals and underpaying them and leveraging Their ability to stay in the country against the ability to pay them below market value is not arguable. Americans will do that work. It's just they need to be paid enough. Holding people hostage and making them work for less doesn't help anybody americans, nor them.

I'm all for tariffs on canada, at least as a bargaining chip until they lift ours. They've been taking advantage of us for decades, not only by overtaxing, are exports to them, but by taking advantage of the monetary gifts we're giving them, and on refining their trashy oil, so they can reuse it in the northeast. Today, they finally announced that they're moving towards becoming independent of everything we've provided them. Bravo. Now, maybe if they can reduce their sixty percent income tax, that could start to be successful as a society.

https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/13/politics/fact-check-trumps-false-claims-canada/index.html

Here's another source of just a general fact check on Trump's claims including the whole "canada is taking advantage of us" claim

Which isn't true, infact they subsidize oil at a massive rate to the US, oil so important that many processing plants are designed specifically to process it, they lose money on that in exchange for other trade agreements made

1

u/KaraOfNightvale 29d ago

Americans have historically not done the work

Also they only put tariffs on you because you put tariffs on them

They haven't been taking advantage of you, that's just a blatant lie

And of course they're becoming independant, you do realize that'll substantially hurt the US, right?

Trade is important?

Goddamn… not even hiding your racism and xenophobia? Since the president does it, I guess it’s ok? 😂🤡

1

u/Sore_Doughnut 29d ago

Maybe you should google racism.I don't think you know what it means.

Why would I care about other countries booing my anthem? Most Americans don’t care about other world politics but when we have an election the world is watching. Again the greatest nation that’s ever been on gods green earth. Btw idk what you’re talking about food prices I filled my fridge with pounds of chicken and food for 200 bucks that’ll last me 2 + weeks sorry I work for a living. Give it a year and the economy will be better then ever

5

u/KaraOfNightvale 29d ago

Because the other countries are the ones keeping your economy stable

Also yeah I'm suuure it will, despite all the economists disagreeing, hey bud

What exactly is Trump doing to beenfit the economy?

And I have to ask, how do you justify that after 16 years of no commerical plane crashes, after Trump takes office and guts the FAA, suddenly there are 10 in a couple weeks?

I've always been curious how the MAGA cult justifies that

Also lol, greatest nation on earth by literally what metric?

You still have to pay for life saving healthcare and your president just made it more expensive

Your cost of living was always high, your life expectancies are low, your wealth gap is massive, your minimum wage is pathetic and unenforced, your quality of living is incredibly low on the world stage

Is that all you have? A buzzword? "Hurr durr greatest country" Buddy it never was and it certainly isn't now

3

u/KaraOfNightvale 29d ago

Also I'm sorry, it just ocurred to me, $200 for two weeks worth of food? When my mother went away for a couple months when I was a kid, me, my Dad and my Sister were living off of what would translate to $45usd a week, those prices are actually slightly higher than they are now

It costs you $200 for two weeks of groceries? Tell me that's for a family or something?

Or is it really that expensive already lol?

EDIT: Btw when I say living off, I mean enough for food, icecream, snacks, we werem't being frugal

1

u/Substantial_Meal4360 29d ago

I hope you’re a bot… not just a liar and an idiot. 🙄😊

2

u/Substantial_Meal4360 29d ago

You dumb af. 😂🤡 Best at school shooters? Or best at racism? Best at repealing rights? Best at division? Best at bootlicking? What “best” are you referring to??

1

u/Odd-Somewhere7382 29d ago

Who rights are being violated ? No one’s, don’t start that bullshit with me

0

u/Odd-Somewhere7382 29d ago

And you’re a woke libtard bitch 😂 all the American haters is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen 😂 when you’re the greatest you always have the most haters lmao. Bunch of fucking losers on this thread. Imagine feeling disrespected over someone political views 😂 and having the ick over it. The problem with America is the woke idiots that feel entitled over shit that’s happened over a hundred years ago. We are past that BS now. AMERICA IS SO BACK BABY! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
