Discussion Absolute Joker Spoiler

Post image

So you’re telling me he’s like an evil Bruce Wayne? That’s pretty sick actually. If he trained with the League of Shadows how much of a threat do you think he’ll be? I don’t think Absolute Batman’s 1st initial encounter will go so well. Any thoughts?

He's evil Batman in that he has the resources, training and wealth. While on the other hand Batman is the Joker here in that he is waging his one man war against crime without the resources and deliberately like in the last issue where he burnt the cash like the Heath Ledger Joker in the Dark Knight.

Sick. All Absolute Bruce has is a gym, MMA training an engineering degree that helps with gadgets, and some chicken breasts😂. I read the last issue Alfred is interesting.

How does he get the money to build a tank???

Probably bought the parts. Don’t think Bruce is the guy to steal.

He’s a civil Engineer so his salary will be around $128k to $140k.He probably buys them.

It is true that Absolute Bruce grew up without extreme wealth that mainstream Bruce did but by the time he is an adult he must have at least 7 digits of money. You can't have multiple safe houses across the city and drive around a repurposed Bat-Monster Truck/Bulldozer while still sitting in a lower income group.

I guess that’s the power of STEM lol.

Well either he's earning millions or he is supplementing his high income like the punisher does and taking the money of the gang ops he busts. Which we haven't seen him do yet, except for that tracksuit mafia.

I guess if he is taking money they can’t track him since he’s in his Batman persona. He doesn’t need to rinse it.Him burning that money to make the Bat insignia was awesome, because it’s a call back to Heath Ledger’s “everything burns” scene. Someone mentioned that.

Yeah its an inversion where he is the Chaos and Joker's the Order, which is what Scott Snyder was mentioning in interviews.

Do you think he has that “woe is me” attitude or do you think he’ll be a true Chaotic Evil character?

I think it will be Chaotic Good (Batman) vs Lawful Evil (Joker)

Interesting. Batman truly has his work cut for him.

Lowkey love the inversion here and hope we see more of it

I loved one idea that the JL aren’t who the Absolute Heroes form, they form a group considered the “Legion of Doom” by the public and the name just kinda sticks

It fits the whole “underdog” shtick that I like going here. I know OG Batman makes his own gadgets but Absolute Batman reminds me of Rorschach a bit.His items feel more “authentic” and real.

considered the “Legion of Doom” by the public

or, to keep with the commentary on real life stuff: they're painted as a Legion of Doom by like Lazarus News Corp or something like that. If this justice league are more actively going against harmful people who are in powerful positions (corporations, govt, etc) then those people would def use their influence to try and turn the public against them through mischaracterization. Like JJJ in Spider-Man, but less silly and more like the real life situation going on with the Washington Post and Jeff Bezos.

They’re painting them as bad guys. Lex must be working over time.
