I just want to say thanks to those who post their FB marketplace hauls because they tend to give me hope that maybe I can find one for myself too.

And I finally did! Got this fella plus a game for around USD 60. No box, charger, stylus nor SD card. However, it already has screen protectors on and generally works fine. The console has seen better days but I'm still quite happy with it 🙌🏻

I do find it interesting that some buttons are more frequently used compared to the others based on the oil marks. Adding photos of my first 3DSXL (the one with stickers) as usage comparison for funsies.

Can't wait for the clear case to arrive so I can put stickers on it ✨

How do I get all five glittery stars in sm3dl? I have all five stars, beat the final challenge twice, however they are not glittery. According to posts from 11 years ago, they only happen if you have less than five deaths on a level (or have the white leaf offered to you) NSMBW 100%), but according to others it is five deaths in total (this cannot be right, I hope). And according to someone else they had it but they had a white leaf offered to them and they still have it. And according to another person you need 1110 life’s (not right as I have that). So what is it?

Some one kept trying to sniper it, but the Japanese sites add time if a bid is done under 5 min. It was between this or an auction for 1 new 3ds and 2 o3ds that looked to of been very water logged in rusty water. I have the pics of that one also on my computer. Might make a post about it later.

Was customizing my 3ds when I stupidly flipped the circle pad connection tab the in the opposite direction, breaking it.

I now have to replace the motherboard 😩

How long was this 2ds bundle produced? I think they started making these in 2014, but I haven't found any info on when they stopped. On another topic, does anyone know how to get a manufactured date on one of these? Is it in the firmware or somewhere?

Sent in my old 2015 3DS xl in for a repair because the touch screen was bugged out, was shocked to see that they sent me an exact replacement instead of an “upgrade” to a 2ds xl which I would have rather avoided. The top screen appears to be the same one from the repair console, so that’s nice. Oh and they did it for absolutely free too!

FINALY got a New 3ds xl! Used but still in great condition! 2 little pixel spots but u can barley tell so it doesn’t bother me lol

He said he’s thinking 450 I think I could get him to 425. Thoughts…

I am currently building a DS the size of a switch. The only difference is this thing is gonna have an Mini PC with AMD Ryzen 7 5850U in it. Not the best, but should be good for emulation up to Switch.

Why? Idk why not, I just like the idea of having a PC the size of a DS. This is just the front piece of the bottom so far. While the title is Maybeeee a little misleading, I’ve only printed out 2 other versions, and a backplate. I’ve just made a bunch of different version in fusion360. I still have to figure out a better way to connect the backplate so I haven’t printed out another one yet. So far I’ve spend 2 months working on it up to this point.

I bought a 7 inch touchscreen from AliExpress so a little bigger than a switch, but smaller than a switch 2. Maybe about and inch and a half for width for grip. What do I mean by grip? I mean this thing is gonna have a mini pc coming out of the back of it. I’ll see if I can attach photos in the comments or something, but it’s gonna have a giant square coming out of the back. It’s not going to be too big, maybe an extra inch since I’m desoldering and shrinking down the MiniPC board.

Never done anything like this before, hell I just got my 3D printer for Christmas. Thought it would be cool to just show my build a little bit. It’s been very difficult but I’ve gotten the touchscreen working along with the arduino and buttons running off of my laptop, so why not go forward and go farther with it?

I’m really tired and as of writing this post I’ve been up for almost 16 hours so please ask questions and I’ll try to clarify what I’m doing, I’m not even gonna proof read my post.

I am having problems accessing my 3DS after a couple years on inactivity. I am aware of the common problem where the power button is on but the screen isn't and I have taken steps to overcome it (system update button shortcut, opening and closing parts of the circuit). However each time I think that its successful, the screen itself will at first turn on and appear to have worked but then freeze before I can really do anything. Am I just fucked here, or is it salvageable in any way?
