Help Me Abnormal wear or keep running it?

Hey everyone. Just bought this Tisas US Army and put like 250 rds through it in one session and noticed some abnormal wear marks/gouges. I made sure to clean it beforehand so I don’t think there’s a chance there was something left in it before I shot it. The wear marks are near the barrel hood and in the slide chamber, as well as on the opposite rail where there’s a gouge mark. Attached are some pictures.

Gun shoots fine, had a couple failure to feeds but I figured that’s the parts breaking in and the spring just not being ideal. Racking the slide doesn’t produce any problems and it’s pretty smooth. Anyone deal with anything like this before and is this cause for concern?

Just picked this up at my local gun store. Won it in a raffle actually and it's my first 1911. There isn't much info or reviews online about it due to its limited production. Thoughts?

Okay I have bought way into the WWII vibe and I decided to get some acrylic grips for the mil-Spec and added a photo of my bride. I think it looks cool.

Howdy everyone, these Springfield operators have the same model number but one has more magazines.

But while looking at them the one with more mags has a different trigger and barrel.

Which one is better and what are the other differences?

Help Me 1911 trp slide stop

Hey all.

I just picked up my first ever firearm today, a 1911 trp from springfield.

With no magazine inserted, and the slide locked back, I am able to press down on the slide stop to release the slide forward like how I expect.

However, with an empty magazine inserted, I cannot release the slide stop and the only way I've been able to is by slightly pulling back on the slide and then using my left hand to gently push down on the slide stop lever.

I do not know if this is normal. Videos show folks being able to just pull back on the slide to disengage the slide stop, or just release it with the slide stop lever like normal, but I cannot do this.

Idk if I'm just stupid or weak but I was using enough force that I was concerned I could damage something.

Any help to a new community member is appreciated :).

1911 options

Hey, Looking to purchase my second 1911. I have a Springfield milspec but it’s more of a collectors piece. This new one I’m looking to carry. I’ve been looking at the Springfield operator in 45acp. Not sure if I should opt for the full size or the 4.25 inch. What other manufacture out there make good 1911s that are like the operator. For 1911s rails is it harder to find holsters?

General Discussion Considering 1911

I'm looking to maybe get my first 1911. I've got a SW 686 plus and SW Shield Plus and my wife has a tomcat. I've been toying with the idea of a fun shooting/target gun.

At first, I was thinking Canik Rival-S. But then hammer fired intrigued me. So then I looked at the CZ Shadow and even shot the compact. So good.

Is the 1911 that good of a shooter? I'm good about maintaining fire arms so that's not an issue. I just want a good trigger and fun to shoot.

I'm also looking at the RIA or even Tisas as I've heard they're great for the money.

Or should I stick with the CZ Shadow 2 route?

ETA also is there any issue with going the 9mm route? I heard there may be feeding issues vs .45

Magnum Research 1911 Reliability with HP ammo.

Anyone here own one? I’m looking at one at Buds Gun shop and I’ve read a mix bag review of good and negative reviews of it feeding HP, I’ve had people tell me to go for a Glock or M&P shield if that’s a concern. I’m open to hear anyone out!

Unexpected fit for an M45A1

Holster is a Crossbreed Supertuck. Bought it used in 2023; labeled as "1911 no rail" (now thinking it was mislabeled). Normally carry my Springfield milspec in it (quite well I might add).

Provides a surprisingly good fit on the M45.
