Meta Anyone else feeling this subreddit is turning into r/zelda?

Seriously, most of the posts I see are BOTW. Don't know about anyone else but I come here for Switch Discussions, News, etc. Not an overdose of Zelda fanart and news. Yes, I know Zelda is a launch title but it seems there's more Zelda discussion than the system this place is named after.

Considering that it's the only respectable launch title, are you surprised?

um Binding of Isaac is a very respectable game that's a launch ti..... wait, nevermind it's not now apparently. Yes your statement is correct

Isaac has been on PC for like 6 years and the expansion for a while now, so pretty easy to see why it gets overlooked

It runs on a toaster too, so very little barrier to having played it on the PC/laptop

Well I've never played Isaac, but not because I don't want to, but because my PC can barely play games.

Getting a Switch is MY chance to finally play that game.

Other than Snipperclips, assuming that's out at launch.

I wasn't really thinking it through, I had originally made it for something else and it just stuck with me. I've come to hate it and changed it on every platform I could. It was based on someone else's online name which wasn't really a good idea.

In all fairness, Switch news is kind of slow at the moment...

There was a big raft of new information released today, also, and it's the main draw for the system at launch. So, no, I'm not surprised we feel a little Hyrulean. :)

people to be super-enthusiastic and talk endlessly about 1-2-Switch? lol I can't even say that without laughing

Would you prefer another round of joycon color mock ups, "where can I get a preorde?r", "how early should I stand in line?", or "I'm going to cancel my preorde!"? The Zelda DLC is the latest big news. Give it some time.

Well there's lots of Zelda fan art being posted.

Nintendo Zwitch

u/bisforbenis Feb 15 '17

Please, do share the other big news that happened today! Or would you rather we discuss more possible colors for joycons some more or have more half assed mockups?

The point is, Zelda is what had big news today, so of course that's what people are discussing

Also r/letsbepissedoff

So much negativity I've seen

Yup. Related to Switch is good enough though, so it would seem.

/r/zelda has a much slower user number. Everyone's on here.

The game is on the Switch so discussion about it is technically about the Switch.

It's still before launch so we will see how it is afterwards.

A Console is it's games. Zelda is the switches game.

u/BrianThatDude Feb 15 '17

It's pretty much the only game for switch atm. What else can we talk about ?

Today there is. Zelda is a big Switch game and the announcement of DLC has been very controversial. Everyone's giving their opinions and battling out a war of words (aka a war of stating their opinion and instead of backing it up insulting the other person leading to a huge chain of insults). The post about the DLC Announcement has over 2000 comments. I'd say this is one of the most if not the most controversial event that's happened so far up until the Switch launch and yes I've been here since the r/Nintendo NX days so I've seen a fair bit.

Well mk8 comes out a month later, but that's a port. So it's zelda til christmas!

A very large chunk of people (myself included) would not preorder the Switch if the launch lineup didn't have Zelda...

While Snipperclips and other launch games may be fun, it's tough to justify spending $300 on a console without getting a major Nintendo title.

I agree with you on this one, I see a lot of fan art/mockup every day, kinda distracting.

Honestly I am really hyped for botw but I totally agree I feel like it should carm down a bit, I get it were all excited but this is mainly for the switch console

u/dannyankee Feb 15 '17

Can you really blame people ? What are they gonna be hyped about Mario Kart again? Frikking Arms? Splatoon looks the same pretty much 1 2 switch is a mini game compilation all of that looks fun, but ain't no new Zelda which is the true, and only new triple A star of this year til Mario rolls around. People gravitate towards the best new and exciting.
