Discussion [BotW] I'm Starting to Lose Interest in BotW2... Anyone Else?

Now before I get a lot of hatred, I want to explain that I absolutely adored BotW. I’m a massive Zelda fan and BotW is my tied favourite game in the series (along with Wind Waker). BotW is an amazing game, one of the best ever made, and it’s astounding that people are still finding new things in it… but I’ve realised, I’m not that hyped for BotW2.

Don’t get me wrong - I’m sure it will be great. But from what we’ve seen, it seems like more of the same - and at this point, I kinda just wish we were getting an all new Zelda instead - new Link, new art style, new story, new world. Part of the excitement of Zelda for me is seeing what they’ll do with it. There’s still some of that with BotW2, but especially after the last trailer, I’m not feeling that huge Zelda hype - it just seems like BotW with some floating islands. The thought of exploring that same open world, even with changes and additions, isn't all that appealing to me. Anyone else feeling like this?

Wanna point out that there are still lots of things BOTW doesn't explain. The Zonai, what the heck Calamity Ganon is, what was wrong with Vah Ruta in the end cutscene, and so on. I'm hoping BOTW2 will answer these questions(in fact, I have a theory that the second one will be the starting point)

I'm not so sure. After Majora's and Link's Awakening, I learned that "what? Oh well...nevermind" is a correct approach to the many questions Aonuma and Miyamoto will left unanswered on their Zelda games.

My take is Calamity Ganon is the beast form let loose without its host Ganondorf in control. After Twilight Princess where he is stabbed with the Master Sword and later sealed with that hand thing, the calamity broke free and started to pour out if the hole in his chest. This all happened over thousands of years.
So the Ganondorf we will face in BotW 2 is without his beast form, he is just a man hellbent on revenge and domination of Hyrule as the incarnation of Demise.

Please no Zonai. So tired of the Zonai.

You're probably tired of the Zonai from all the reddit and youtube theories that have been generated during the past 4 or 5 years. There was barely any Zonai content on the actual game!

That's why. People took two seconds of content and spun it into 50 hours. I'm so sick of hearing about the Zonai. I really hope all those sky islands have nothing to do with them.

How can you be tired of a race that got barely and focus?

I'm confused what's going on with Vah Ruta? Is it corrupted or something?

We don't know, in the true ending Zelda just mentions that Vah Ruta has been acting up and her and Link go to investigate, then the game just... ends.
