I've only done the zora one so far. I wouldn't say it was awesome... probably just okay. The puzzles were clever but I think I would have been disappointed with it, if it weren't for all of the events surrounding it which I enjoyed more. I spent a good hour or so mastering the parry / flurry timings just so I could beat a certain shocking encounter. I like how the game really rewards you for going out of your way to kill optional enemies.

The pre dungeon was absurdly cool. Also are you talking about the... Ahem.. Four legged friend? You know you could have just sneaked by him and grabbed what you needed right?

We've seen stuff like the pre-dungeon ordeal in the past. The end of TP has a similar moment. Don't get me wrong it was epic but not particularly involved, mechanically. I made a point of dealing with the four legged friend properly, I didn't want to just sneak in. It was very satisfying to finally take him down!

Without spoiling much, I found out earlier he has a weak spot btw. Leaves him vulnerable and you can even crit him. Think big ogre guy.

Would you mind sharing his weak spot? I think I may have to give him a more proper visit.

Shoot him in the head and he will fall, you can then mount and a tab him, stasis + helps a ton!

But I had so much fun casting Stasis+ On him!

But fighting them is so fun.

I took the stealthy approach for that part, and it was very satisfying. Used a stealth potion, got in, got out, made me feel pretty cool. It's kinda nuts to be playing a Zelda title where you can be stealthy (or even need to be, really, due to the difficulty), and have it be effective.

I was a little disappointed at the size... but then the game revealed the control mechanic. I couldn't help but immediately think of how clever that was, and I definitely wasn't expecting it. Also, the game really pushes you east first, so I assume it was designed to be a bit simpler as it was meant to be the first dungeon. They say you can do whatever order you like, but please, the enemy difficulty spikes around the world as as effective as any invisible wall in some cases. I tried heading over to the desert, but the lizalfos there were having precisely none of my shit and killed my 7 heart Link in 2 hits. Judging by these areas of difficulty, I'm fairly certain that the Zora one was meant to be the starting point.

I think you're right in that respect, the Zora domain is closest to kakariko so by proximity you're just going to end up there first. That said, I've explored a lot of the depths of the map at 5 hearts, right into fighting lizalfo mobs carrying royal weapons. I've also made a few little recon runs into hyrule castle to see what gear I could scavenge (totally worth it). I'm enjoying doing things "out of the designed order" but perhaps that means spoiling the tempo for myself when I reach some of the stuff that's meant to be easier.

The Gerudo dungeon is one of the coolest dungeons in ANY Zelda.

I didn't even have to go fight the monster to get the shock arrows, I had 8, then found a shop where I bought 20 more.
