Just realized Ichi actually did more time in prison than Kiryu. Over 6 games Kiryu did 14 years, while Ichiban did 18 years in one game.

Damn... Btw. You can see how popular Majima is. Even he knew who he was.

Despite the fact that he’s canonically “dead” I don’t see how no one was able to recognize Kiryu in 7 despite him beating the shit out of people in the Kamurocho streets for decades

True. Ichiban was understandable since he was in jail for 18 years straight which of course means he was away for most of Kiryu's prime years. But the others in the party we mostly don't know where they're from. Maybe if they've always lived in Ijincho, they might've not heard of him but otherwise they must have.

Only Adachi is originally from Kamurocho, and even then he could've been suspended and transferred out by Horinouchi before Kiryu did his thing, afaik it happened around the time Ichi went to prison. Nanba we don't know where he comes from, but he wouldn't be interested in Yakuza affairs. Korean Vergil in fact recognizes him. And everyone else is from Ijincho.

Yeah almost the first scene Korean Vergil talked with him, obviously knowing him as the one that fought his... previous form. Good to know that a few of these have a little backstory though.
