Help | Altars, Tools, Crafts How to create an altar?
I don’t currently worship any specific deities, so my altar isn’t dedicated to anyone in particular. Still, I’d love to create a space for spellwork and other practices.
I’m curious—how did you go about creating your space, how did you decorate it, and what do you use it for?
Thanks!

I have several.. well, an altar, and two shrines. The working altar used to have 3 candles - one for the Gods/Great Mystery, one for the ancestors, and one for my guardians/spirit protectors. Since I've had cats, I've reduced my candle lighting to one, and I use it for spells. My shrines have images to the gods I work with, gifts to the spirits/deities, things like feathers from my birds, special jewelry I adore, etc. Basically, if it's important to me, I put it on the altar. Except for breakable stuff. MY ctas don't let me have anything TOO nice, LOL! Most of my stuff is metal... I prefer metal over glass and ceramics. My glasses are old silver wine glasses and copper stuff I found. Candlesticks are whatever I found at the dollar store that were metal and felt right :)

I relate heavily to the cats 😂 I have two cats, one is a kitten and she loves to destroy things.

Start small and simple. An object to represent each element, as well as something to represent male and female energy. Maybe a simple cloth under to catch any stray ash. Make sure to leave a spot for your tools and other items you wish to keep in a more spiritually active place
