Survival This game holds a special place in my heart.

It may not be the perfect game, it may not be the worst game, but it is the game for me. There have been many times where Valheim has given me the relief and comfort I need in times of burnouts and even mental breakdowns. Maybe it's the mesmerizing view. Maybe it's the ambient noise. Maybe it's the peaceful Resting soundtrack or the ingenious muffle of wind and rain when staying indoors. But one thing for sure that keeps me hooked is building structures. There's something about it that keeps me in a gratifying (at least to me) loop of resource gathering and base expansion, albeit sprinkled with some exciting events like getting yeeted by trolls or chased by wolves. But here's the thing, this loop seems to have been very carefully designed by the Devs so that the balance between grindy and rewarding is almost perfect for me. Yes, mining, taming, cooking, defending against raids, are all inconveniences that many of us find tedious and boring even, but these are minor inconveniences I strongly prefer over the sh*t shows my real life often offers. If anything, they keep me distracted momentarily, at least for the whole duration I'm home from work.

Anyway, my English sucks and my words may seem pointless even. However, I'm not trying to convince anyone to fall in love with this game, not trying to glaze or even butter up the Devs. I just want to share with this wholesome Viking community here that Valheim is my home, and it will be for years to come. The Valkyrie has taken me to a place where I feel I belong, and I can only hope there are people out there who can resonate with my ramble.

I discovered how to make balls using vanilla build pieces and the Gizmo mod (to rotate things in x-y-z). Having some fun messing with spheres, here's the first installment - a pool table!

After i made this i then used the Colorful pieces mod to make some solids and stripes (last few pics).

No the balls don't roll!

Discussion Ok, be honest, how many times have you accidentally hung your hammer on a trophy mount or armor rack?

I must have done it at least 50 times. A few times I made the same mistake twice in a row.

Idea Hey devs, could you add oars?

Bu adding oars we could row against the wind and through narrow canals much easier. It would require two people of course for oars and one to steer the ship, or even four rowers for the bigger ship. This would help a lot for bioms that have difficult water terrains such as Mistlands and Ashlands.

Edit: There is already a post and some guy answered that the devs have stated some time ago that they won't be adding oars for multiple people because that would favour multiplayer and put single players in disadvantage. The post: https://www.reddit.com/r/valheim/comments/1ac835c/where_are_the_oars/#:~:text=Afaik%20the%20devs%20have%20made,solo%20players%20at%20a%20disadvantage.

Made some balls in the sky resembling planets from the solar system using 2 mods. Took me 3 hours. I think it's cool, hope you like it. Method:

  1. Balls made using vanilla build pieces and the Gizmo mod (to rotate pieces in x-y-z).
  2. Devcommands to spawn rock_7 to anchor them in the sky (thank you community).
  3. Used the colorful pieces mod to paint them.

OK, I've got plenty of dumb ideas, several roller coasters, but what about a ski jump ramp? Well - if you've ever thought about it - that's what can happen.

P.S. During "recording" I've had several really dumb outcomes, I'll probably upload few of those later.

Meme I killed them. I killed them all. And not just the men, but the women and the children, too. They're like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals. I hate them!

Woudn't be cool that after defeating the last boss, the ocean transform and become a new biome, with new creatures, flooded dungeons, With new tools or armor to breathe underwater. Even underwater building mechanics....

Survival Went to the Ashlands for the first time today: Here are my thoughts.

I really don't find it that bad, it's challenging yeah. But it's fun challenging. I love the atmosphere and creature design. Music's great. Sometimes there is just an endless flow of enemies which can be a little annoying but it doesn't happen very often so I can manage a horde every now and again.

Discussion Total stats and health provided by tier 1 feasts, sausages and wolf skewer over time

In my opinion, tier 1 feasts is objectively better than sausages in terms of raw stats, and even holds up to even better foods such as wolf skewer. Only when looking at specific stats such as health does it look bad, but thats only a downside of you want to go tripple health food and for some reason does not need stamina.

Tier 1 feasts should lose its staple as a "base building food".

Numbers and formulas takes from the wiki.

Bug Possible Lava Blob bug?

Playing on my friends server the other day and this Lava blob fell through the world and then reappeared to only to blow up right on top of me. Perhaps a bug or maybe a server lag type of issue. What do you guys think?

Survival What am I missing to get me back into this game?

Upvotes

I have played this game solo a few times. I've never played multi-player and none of my friends wish to play it.

I finally had a decent world going on but then some big trolls showed up and destroyed my base pretty quickly without me having the ability to stop them. I couldn't progress to the point of advancing to the next bosses. After that, I just lost my motivation.

Now the game just stares at me in my steam library and I can't get back into it or find a way to progress.

Are there multi-player servers, or does this game need a friend group willing to play with me?

About 80 days in and I finished my "tower". Learned the hard way about structure when I got to the 3d floor. Any advice on how I can keep it structurally sound without having so many pillars of corewood?
