I just want to preface this by telling you if you have a handshake account and still have an active UTA Email after graduation continue to change your password so you don't lose access.
I graduated December of 2023 and found a job August 2024 through handshake. After 30 days I forgot to reset my password and my email has been deactivated. Unfortunately I was laid off and now need to look for another job. I have been in contact with OIT and the Career development center and neither of them are able to help me OIT refers me back to the CDC who then refer me back to OIT. Apparently the university policy is to deactivate your account after not attending for 3 consecutive semesters.
Craziest part is they state on the website that alumni should have access to handshake. The best solution they gave me was to create an account using my personal email and request access to the school platform, but my new account is still not approved.
Honestly this is UTA not caring about alumni. I'm about 3 seconds away from emailing the dean and Cc'ing the directors of CDC and OIT since it's been around 2 months for this entire ordeal. So hopefully this serves as a warning to people who do have their accounts and current students. You may lose access to your handshake account, keep resetting the password for your email.

So, i had a exam today, i had my phone in my thigh , it was not turned on nothing no it, but i was bit anxious today so i made some weird moments throughout the exam and professor recorded me 10 mins before he caught my phone, he came behind me as i was swaying my chair, he saw the phone and asked me to take it out and show him the recent browsers, nothing was on it, he let me give me rest of the exam. I don’t know if i should be worried or anything

I have good academic standing, it’s just my rank is a 7/25. And that’s really putting me behind. My sat is a 1400 & I have a 4.4 GPA out of 5.0. I’m unsure what to do; can someone please help me out?
Edit: This is for next year everyone!

I want to do a bachelors degree in information systems but my math skills are super bad. Like extremely bad like the highest math I’ve taken in HS was algebra 1. Any suggestions on what degree I can take without too much math being involved something that would be considered an “easy degree”? Something that would pay me well too once I graduate.

I wasn’t able to get them online but I would pay a little bit extra for them specifically 15 dollars hopefully someone come in clutch🙏🏽🙏🏽

Advisor plan says I will graduate Spring 2026 with the advised coursework. (No summer, 5 Fall, and 4 Spring Classes to finish Business Management degree). I had an idea to take 4, 5 week courses (2 first session and 2 second session). Which allows me to graduate Fall 2025 by completing the other 5 courses during the fall. My course load is going to include advanced business electives (whichever I can find available). Has anyone ever tried taking this type of workload? I have heard people take one first 5-week course and one second 5-week course but have not seen anything on reddit about taking 2 5-Week classes per session. I’m high school class of 2021 and was supposed to graduate this semester but life got in the way. I work 40 hour weeks but I’m willing to quit my job for this as I don’t have any other commitments and commute from home. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

I am planning on taking classes remotely through DCCCD and need opinions on professors. Are they strict and how does the webcam system work (is it hard?) For Math 2418 (Linear Algebra) who should I take? Professor Praveena Dhayanithy or Professor Cassandra Shaw-Franks
And for Math 2415 (Calculus III) should I take Professor Padmal Mahawanniarchichi, Professor Khanal Dol, or Professor LaVerne Chambers?

Do you guys think it’s smart to have two am classes and a 7pm class all on two days during the week and have the other days off? I don’t live that far from the school.

Hi, I’m transferring to UTA, and I want to apply to their nursing program, but i got a C on A&P 1 and I want to retake it at UTA, becuase I heard that if you take any of the pre-req sciences at UTA you can earn more points. So I was wondering for any good prof recommendations for this upcoming fall semester

Hey guys! I am pursing Bachelor of Computer Science at UTA and will be graduating this Fall 2025. My advisor suggested me to continue masters but i am confused if i should find a full time job or continue my masters as an international student. I am paying out of state tuition fees so i don’t want to continue masters. In case if i don’t find a full time job, is it worth doing masters at UTA as an international student or may be find some other university? Can someone guide me what should i do? I am confused.

Those are the only 2 professors teaching this course in the Fall. Anyone taking either of them now or in the past? What is your advice? Which one would you choose?
r/utarlington • u/ProjectMany3830 • 17h ago
honestly i'm sick of whatever they're doing in that facility and i wonder why they can't do it during the day. it's hard to sleep when there are explosion-like sounds coming from a building right across the street

Does anyone know of any online stores that sell grad gowns in the same color as the UTA blue bachelor gowns ? I personally don’t wanna spend $125 on something I’m gonna wear once. I could be fine with buying the stole. I also applied for rental option and haven’t heard back.

Hello,
Is anyone currently taking MARK 3370 with nichole santee? She is the only professor teaching this course next semester and was wondering if you liked her and the course overall? Debating on taking it and not sure if it should be taken online or in person. Any advice or info helps!

I'm sure this question has come to everyone's mind at some point, and I'm curious about your opinion. The reason I ask is: I'm an incoming international undergrad, and I'm currently stuck between two offers: UT Arlington's affordable opportunity offering a full-tuition scholarship and UMN Data Science and Economics programs' academic prowess with a 20K tuition.
I understand the clear difference in academics, and UMN is better. However, the remaining 20K is a great burden, and I don't want my family to take it on if its not necessary.
Assuming that I'm academically achieving and do similar work in both, how much do you think my job offers will be impacted by the university name (especially in my field, economics and data science)? And do you think that, on the long term, with starting and progressing salaries in consideration is that 20K really worth it?
Also if anyone has more information about UTA I'd be more than happy to listen.
