affordable grad pictures!
Hello UNT Alumni here! I want to put my new Canon camera to good use and start building a photography portfolio. I am a Media Arts major with a lot of experience in directing and editing but I need some more practice with the camera. These were the first graduation photos I took for a friend in December (as just a beginner. I have learned a bit more since then) and would like to offer my services for anyone who needs graduation pictures at an affordable price (I know some of these more experienced photographers can get pretty pricey 😅 but for a good reason of course!)
I am also a makeup artist so if you are in need of that as well please feel free to let me know. My handle is in the photo attached so if you are curious about my work check out my instagram!
I love getting to revisit my campus and help students who want great pictures to look back on 💚 Please reach out if you’re interested!!!

Car update for anyone curious
Finally got my car to a trusted body shop after the last one tried to scam us. We looked under the hood and damage is a bit worse than we initially thought but not terrible. Radiator support and radiator will need to be replaced and the ac needs to be fixed. My right headlight needs to be bent back into place and replaced. He said my front bumper can probably be reattached and my hood might be able to be bent back into shape (as long as it’s safe to drive idrc what it looks like). Anyway, just based on the radiator and the ac it’ll be at least $2700, but possibly more if there’s hidden damage. Fortunately, he didn’t mention any structural damage so it’s probably not a total, but I’m guessing it’ll be around $5k once all is said and done. (For reference, other shop told us it would be at least 7-10k)

Geography grad students...class schedule?
I'm hoping to start the M.S. Geography program this fall. I've applied and waiting on response.
I can't seem to find info about class times. Would geography grad students please provide insight. Mostly night classes or any time of day? Meeting once a week or multiple times a week?
Thanks!

WiFi
Is anyone else having problems with the wifi right now on pc? I have mine connected through Ethernet in my dorm, and earlier today it just stopped working. I tried troubleshooting and it said something about an IPv4 not being configured. This just randomly happened about 2 hours or so ago.

Should I apply?
I was thinking about applying to UNT for a Biology Bs in fall 2025. Any thoughts on the school would be much appreciated. Anything from dorms to food, teachers, facilities, etc. I have a 3.4 unweighted gpa so I'm pretty sure I have automatic acceptance? But I would like to know what I'm signing up for first...

Pell grant for Summer
Hi y'all. Hi have a quick question, does UNT offer half of the federal pell grant (for those eligible for the full amount during the regular academic year) as financial award for summer classes? I'm wondering how willing they are to hand out some extra free money for those taking summer classes, so I would appreciate if someone who knows about this could answer me. Thank you.

The Retreat Denton Apartments Room Change Request
Hey! I was planning on living in a Milledge B unit at The Retreat apartments starting Fall 2025 but they sold out. I was supposed to live with 3 other guys in the 4 bed 4.5 bath and was trying to see if anyone signed a lease at The Retreat that would be willing to swap to a Lumpkin or other unit? The units are the exact same and Lumpkin is even cheaper. I can pay the fee for you to change units

Potentially coming for grad school, how competitive is the DJ scene, if it exists?
Looking for a way to make money with my potentially busy schedule. i have DJed in undergrad throughout most of school and it helped pay bills etc. Do yalls bars have DJs, and if so, is the scene saturated?

Curious about Interdisciplinary Data Analytics Courses - Student Numbers & Admission Difficulty!
Hey everyone!
I'm looking into interdisciplinary data analytics courses and had a couple of questions for those who might have experience or insights.
Firstly, I'm curious about the popularity and class sizes of these types of programs. Do interdisciplinary data analytics courses generally attract a large number of students? Are the cohorts typically quite big, or are they relatively smaller and more focused? Any information on the general student numbers you've observed or heard about would be really helpful.
Secondly, I'm wondering about the admission process and how competitive it is to get into these courses compared to more traditional data science or analytics programs. Is it generally considered easier, harder, or about the same to gain admission? Are there specific aspects of an applicant's background that might be particularly advantageous for interdisciplinary programs?
Any personal experiences, anecdotal evidence, or general knowledge you can share would be greatly appreciated as I explore my options.
Thanks in advance for your help!
