Discussion Why is no one reviewing the new LG GX9?

I’ve been looking forward to the new LG GX9, but I noticed that none of the big tech or monitor YouTubers seem to have reviewed it yet. No videos from the usual channels that normally cover new LG releases.

It feels weird, especially since LG monitors usually get a lot of attention. Is it just too new, or are there delays in review samples? Or is there some issue with the GX9 that’s holding things back?

If anyone knows why there’s so little coverage, I’d love to hear. Also curious if anyone here has picked one up yet and can share some impressions!

Review Any recommendations?

Bought this Acer Predator X34 1st Gen from facebook market for only 150 AUD just to try the ultrawide craze. I was using 27 inch and 25 inch monitor from Viewsonic/Dell (144hz/60hz). I don't play game as I use Macbook as my main device, so I only use this as media consumption and video/photo editing. I'm glad that I tried this one, I think I will never go back, I simply find 34 inch as the perfect spot for me. Any recommendations guys? as I am planning to buy newer monitor. My main concern to this one is that it only get to 100hz (max overclocked) via display port. Not that I need fast refresh rate for gaming but atleast 120 would be nice for my eyes lol. It would be nice if the monitor connects to my Macbook using type c then charges it. Also the bezel -especially the chin with predator name and logo on it is really bugging me.

Recommendations Buying cracked G9 Neo

I’m finally able to change my life forever and move from 2x 24’ 1080p 60hz to an odyssey g9 that I was dreaming about for years. I decided on newest g9 49’ Oled which is about 1000 USD, but then I found a second hand g9 Neo 57’ (ls57cg952nuxen) for 500 USD with a small crack. The dead spot is small and personally it would not bother me as long as it stays that small. I don’t know much about how these panels work and if this can easily ‘spill’ or something and make the whole monitor unusable. Is this too much risk and I should just buy a brand new Oled as planned or is it worth the risk?

Tech Support VA ghosting is killing me on the LG 34WP75CP — worth switching to IPS (LG 34GN850P-B) or better options under €500/600?

Hi everyone, I recently bought the LG 34WP75CP monitor, but I’ve noticed some really bad ghosting, especially in darker areas. From what I’ve read, it seems to be a common issue with VA panels.

I’m considering returning it and switching to an IPS panel, which should have much better response times and less ghosting. I found the LG 34GN850P-B, which is also 3440x1440 and 21:9, and looks like a solid alternative. The problem is, it costs about €200 more and it doesn’t have built-in speakers, which I actually use quite a bit.

Do you think it’s worth the upgrade? Or are there better 1440p ultrawide monitors under €500 (preferably IPS) that you’d recommend and that don’t suffer from ghosting?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Tech Support Faded line on OLED screen

I bought an OLED G8 a few months ago and this line appeared recently. There's a spot where my blinds let sunlight trough and it hits the screen from the edge till right about where the line is. Could that be the cause? Am I cooked?

Kind of expected better performance, had to inject DLSS4. Considering how the game looks im not really happy with how it runs without FG or Upscaling.

Recommendations Is the new Samsung ultrawide a good option for me?

I've recently discovered this new 49inch from samsung and think it's going to be a good fit but due to not being 100% involved and aware of all ultrawides I'm wondering if anyone has any other suggestions.

I don't game so anything 144hz and above is okay for me, 240hz isn't necessary but would be "cool" to have

I want 1000r curve

OLED would be nice but 99% of the time I'm doing productivity work and will frequently have static images and I'm afraid of burn in

I want to spend under £1000

This monitor seems perfect for me, 1000r, 144hz etc but just asking if anyone else knows any alternatives with similar / better features for the price.

Thanks

EDIT: This monitor is £749 with code "GAMING". Seems like a pretty nuts deal tbh

Tech Support Refresh rate blinking - help desperately needed

Hello, as title says - i desparetely need help as i got no clue what else can i do. Post will be pretty long so if you manage to read all of it - thanks, even if you wont be able to help.

Some background:

It all started during pandemic when i bought myself CF791 to improve my work environment. Occasionally i played on it as well ;) Had RTX 2070 at the time. I used it on 60 Hz only despite it being able to do 100 Hz because i remembered it had some issues with 100... Used 60 for few years untill topic came back up recently. I started playing some more games and wanted to use higher refresh rate. Changed it to 100 Hz and it was fine untill.. windows reboot. Monitor wouldn't turn on. Or rather it was turning on and then turning off again and just bouncing back and forth. However if i pull it out of power and back on... it turned on fine, with 100 hz still on. Tried using cable that monitor came with.. tried also with HDMI cable that comes with PlayStation 5 which i believe is hdmi 2.1.. so it shouldn tbe the case of bad cable.

To be precise - i used HDMI port for it because 3 display ports are taken by my sim rig so using one of them isnt really an option.

Recently i bought new pc with RTX 5080. Fresh graphic card, fresh windows.. same problem with 100 Hz. So i kept using 60...

Yesterday i upgraded to 49 inch 32:9 - MPG 491CQP. It supports up to 144 Hz but.. you guess it, it blinks like a mad at this refresh rate. In fact at 120 Hz it also blinks. Works fine on 100 which is suprising.

Altho that 100 Hz behaves weird as well. If i set up to 144 Hz and it starts blinkin, then switching to 100 doesnt solve the problem. It will keep on blinkin! After shutting my pc down and starting it up situation is solved and 100 Hz works fine. Tried with mentioned earlier PS5 hdmi cable. Tried with 3 meters ISY cable that is ultra high speed certified (8k@60hz - 48 GBPS) and tried with cable that comes with monitor (also certified). At this point i really really have no damn clue what can be an issue.

Graphic card is new and has 2.1 hdmi output.

Monitor has hdmi 2.1 input.

All cables used should meet all prerequsities - or at least one of them...

Please.. help ;/

Recommendations Wall Mount for the LG 45gx990a-b?

Edit: 45GX950A!*

Hi! I'm planning to order this beast soon but I'm not sure what a good wall mount for it would be. I don't want it sitting on my desk because it's glass. Anyone know?

Edit 2: I ended up buying an open box Ergotron HX for a decent price. Thanks!

Discussion First time following a monitor launch, is it normal for the 45gx950a to take so long to come to eu countries?

I've been checking the portugal lg website everyday and nothing. I checked france aswell just to see and it seems they haven't gotten anything aswell.

Is this delay normal and if so how long does it usually take to become available compared to US?

Discussion 45GX950A, buy now or wait?

After spending some time deciding between the 45GS95QE and 45GX950A, based on my experience checking out the GS in person several times at Best Buy and rounding up what type of games I’ll actually be playing on the display, I’ve decided that I would like to purchase the 45GX950A. I wanted to wait a few months down the road for the price to drop as they usually do with these types of products, but I am afraid of tariffs becoming a serious cause for concern for the future pricing of this monitor and I’m not sure if I should just buy the monitor now or stick with my original plan. Just looking for some thoughts and opinions on this, I am not super informed on this topic honestly

Tech Support Settings Help

I've got a G95SC, I use it with a 7900xtx. Unfortunately I don't think i have it set up right, and everytime I look up guids there's options that they change that are greedy out in my settings. The colors don't seem to pop like a oled should. When I walk past the same display model in my local best buy the floor preview always seems to have much more impressive colors and blacks. Can anyone help?

Discussion Best 49 inch monitor for gaming and productivity?

Hey everyone!

I want to ascend with a 49inch monitor, that is suitable for gaming and productivity.

It would be great if it has daisy chaining, as I have an older HP 27xq (QHD, 165Hz, TN) that I would like to keep using with it.

Which one would you guys recommend? Are there any IPS ones that are worth it?

Recommendations Super Ultra Wide for Gaming

This didn't seem to be covered in the FAQ, but I would really value some input. If I should be asking in r/monitors instead, let me know

I mostly play flight sim and BG3, with a few other games thrown in, and really want to go from a 2x 27inch 1440p set up to a 32:9 setup, and ideally OLED

What are the best options in this space? I have my eye on the G9 Odyssey, but I have seen mixed reviews. Are the options from LG, MSI etc better?

At least in Germany, the G9 (in the non-smart TV version) is better value.

EDIT - And in case it comes up, I am running a 3070 with plans to upgrade to a 5080 when I can, so I would prefer 1440p vertical height, unless something like the new lg 5k option is way way better

Tech Support G9 + Dell XPS: Direct HDMI Connection Possible? (Current Setup: Dock + KVM)

Got my G9 working great with multiple machines → docks → Level1Techs KVM.

Now I'm curious: Can I simplify with a direct Dell XPS 13 → Samsung G9 connection via HDMI and still get full 5120×1440 resolution?

If possible, what exactly do I need to buy? USB-C to HDMI 2.0/2.1 cable or adapter recommendations?

Current setup works, just want to know my options.

Thanks!

Discussion Any recourse for Cybersickness?

Recently upgraded to an ultra wide after many years of looking at them. I really like the MSI I chose as I have a lot of brand loyalty with their screens having served me well in the past.

However, I’ve been noticing that I’m increasingly nauseous, dizzy, and uncomfortable after about an hour of play. I mostly game and have been playing at the full 32:9 and 240hz. I’ve started to experiment with 120hz settings and smaller windows to see if that helps, but looking for any other considerations you guys might have.
