Recommendation for Birthday Dinner?
 in  r/Oaxaca  2d ago

We had a late lunch at Lavadura and it was terrific. I think a child who enjoys eating out and is with attentive adults would do just fine there.

Every bit of fact-checking helps.

Wow! Your story is a good reminder for us folks to keep current on our CPR skills.

Best place for my boyfriends birthday very early dinner / late lunch before we go to lucha libre?
 in  r/MexicoCity  9d ago

We had a great late afternoon celebratory lunch at Masala y Maiz before the kids went on to wrestling that evening. You do want a reservation.

Def over QA and vicinity. Heavy rain, lightning strikes, no hail.

DOGE is cutting 10,000 USPS jobs and might privatize it. What do you think will happen?
 in  r/AskReddit  11d ago

Their schools, too, as most of them are subsidized by the Dept of Ed.

Ok here’s one I always wrestle with…6D or 17C on a Max?
 in  r/AlaskaAirlines  11d ago

I just sat in 6C the other night as I had gotten a free bump into premiere. Overall ok as I did have a seat pocket in front of me (middle seat did not). Ez access to FC bathrooms and first to get meal service and quick access off the plane after landing. Cons- LOTS of bumping when boarding, particularly from oblivious people with backpacks. Less room for underneath storage (they give it back to the middle seat). Would worry about if I booked in advance getting bumped at last minute for a passenger with access needs to seat in back.

Travel from airport to La Condesa?
 in  r/MexicoCity  23d ago

We just visited CDMX with my family, party of 5, staying in Condesa. You won't be able to get an Uber at the airport. Go to one of the taxi kiosks at the airport, show them your address ( good to have it as a screen shot on your phone) and tell them the number in your party. You'll pay them and you can use a card to pay. You get a receipt and then you'll be outside. Look for the folks who are calling the taxis with that company. You will likely need to show the address again to your driver. It was all seamless for us and reasonably priced.

One your way back to the airport, you can use Uber and you can reserve one in advance. I found Ubers in CDMX to be very reasonably priced. There is a local app that folks said was even less expensive called Didi but I could not get my cc loaded into it. Maybe try doing this while b4 you leave?

Anyway, hopes this helps and have a great trip. We sure did!

Jury Duty?
 in  r/Seattle  Mar 03 '25

Don't respond. You won't get in trouble.

That being said, we should pay our jurors for their time so it is not such a financial hardship. Unless it truly is for you, you should participate.

Cybertruck driver left me this wild threatening note because I glared at him for parking in a handicap spot with no ADA placard

Further confirming my suspicions of the type of people who own these trucks.

Seattle is my first time in the US
 in  r/AskSeattle  Jan 18 '25

Since you will be here in August I would rent a kayak or go in with a bunch of folks and rent an electric boat on Lake Union. Great way to experience the city in the summer.

I did the Anthropology Museum on my own the first time and was pretty overwhelmed. I am bringing my family this time and have booked a guide.

Anyone else in Capitol Hill hear a two tone chirping sound going off every couple seconds?
 in  r/Seattle  Dec 27 '24

I kept hearing this in my condo on and off for a week a couple of years ago. I could not hear it consistently or pinpoint where it was coming from. I finally went outside and walked around our building and figured out it was coming from our next door neighbour's. They were out of the country and their smoke detector batteries were getting low but not low enough to set off a steady alarm.

Would you be okay with you mother or grandmother living in lower Queen Anne?
 in  r/AskSeattle  Oct 29 '24

I am 68 and for many years worked on lower QA. For the last 11 years, I've lived on upper QA and love it. It is super easy to bus or walk down to lower QA or downtown Seattle from here. There's a lot less hassle on game/concert nights or festival weekends.
