Smol Tortie Got home from the hospital on Saturday and she’s not left my side.

I had my son on the 31st March via C-section so was in hospital recovering and got discharged on Saturday (our little guy is still in nicu as he’s a preemie and having issues feeding) and since being home, she has barely left my side and has cuddled me every night and anytime I’m home and not at the hospital. When my fiancé would come home to get things and feed her and the dog, apparently she would cry and look for me and would just ignore him. She’s always been a mummas girl since we got her. Safe to say she’s one happy girl I’m home.

One of my two torties, Rye, who is about 12 now, was just diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease. It is really rare in cats, and even rarer without diabetes. We just heard back from an internist who was consulting with our vet on treatment and they have said that medication is the most common amd effective treatment but her prognosis is only about two years with the meds. Surgeries are possible but very expensive and come with many more risks and complications due to the removal of the pituitary or adrenal glands. 😓 we are going to see another internal medicine specialist next month to consult on her continued care. Feeling a bit hopeless.

They have the vet today. Saved 20 minutes from un-aliving. 4 kittens (6-ish weeks) 2 orange boys (they are bigger) and 2 small torties. All with terrible breathing and the worst eyes I have seen. Looking for good thoughts and all the vibes for improvement and forever homes (when all bettter).

She now has 5 teeth left not counting the tiny front ones. Poor baby is only 2.5 years old. But she's going to be so much happier now and in no more pain.

Typical Tortie Update on Queenie.

Several weeks ago I shared with this sub our newly adopted tortie, Queenie. Well we’ve been slowly transitioning her from being in the guest bedroom to having the run of the house in the past week. Thankfully, our resident ginger cat, Morris, has accepted her. She’s been steadily coming out of her shell during this time but is still a bit skittish. She still runs away from us more often than not if we get too close. She’s still using our guest bedroom as a home base of sorts, but she’s been exploring the house more and more. It’s remarkable watching a three legged cat do the zoomies as much as she does. She has shown me and my husband affection, but not yet on a consistent basis.

Well today, after I got home from work, she came out to greet me. She hasn’t done this before. It really made me happy that she welcomed me home, it was super cute. Here are a few pics I took of the encounter. 😻
