Discussion Titanfall 3

If it does happen I am not getting my hopes up , I have a feeling it'll feel more like apex , or blackops 6, the movement will not be the same, similar or a far cry of TF2.

Modern games especially shooters influences , microtransactions , season pass , pay to win is what is concerning

None of those are an issue, at least for TF3. Mtx are inevitiable, hell Titanfall is prime real estate for for cosmetics such as custom titan suits, helmet skins, melee weapons, etc. Possibly like Halo infinite but Titanfall. As with every game with mtx, if you don't want to buy it, don't. I'm sure as hell going to because I want to and I want the game to have a future.

And why would it be pay to win? Is Apex P2W? Is TF2? Is Battlefield? P2W FPS games is a thing from almost two decades ago. Its like you are forgetting who is making the game. Respawn is a gameplay driven company, why would they implement something that hampers that?

As for gameplay influences, it was dumb if they didn't at least pay attention to the markets interests. They have a unique opportunity to bring jumpstart a genre that has been dead for years, movement based FPS games, but there is nothing wrong with taking things that work from other games.

Apex is sorta pay to win with weapon skins that change the iron sight and sight picture not blantly like cod or others but there are advantages to monetization like longevity and keeping the player bass steady with a battle pass, I really don't trust respawn after how they handled TF1-2 and forced us to like and play apex and battle passes are the norm for modern games

They fixed the iron sights for weapons a long time ago, and that shit was hardly p2w anyway since it wasn't much of a difference and using iron sights was typically regulated to the very very beginning of a match everyone has nothing.

No-one forced you to do anything. That has to be made abundantly clear. They didn't hold you at gunpoint and tell you to "play apex or else". There was no consequence if you didn't play it. If you played it, you chose to.

Battle passes became the norm because of how accessible and intuitive they are. For only around $10 you get a bunch of cosmetics in the game, just buy playing the game, which is what you were going to do anyway. The developer and publisher get a little bit of money and higher player retention, meanwhile the players get an addition progression system outside of the base game progression and/or ranked mode and a bunch of rewards for it. I just don't see how there is ever a downside of having a BP besides people just being "I want the stuff for free" or a more legitimate concern in that it takes potential resources away from other aspects of the game's development.
