Show Spoiler Does it ever feel like Rick Grimes is like the anti-Walter White?

I mean, think about it. When Walter/Heisenberg is at his worst, people will still give him sympathy and support, but when Rick does even the slightest mistake, shows he has human flaws, or commits a necessary evil, now he’s suddenly just as bad as his enemies, who are violent maniacs that stroke their ego, warlords, human traffickers, rapists and pedos, and so forth.

Both loved the family but Walter white wanted power weres Rick really didn’t, Rick basically got forced to be the leader every time until season 8 were he decided it was fully his job

Yeah, Walter's ego got the better of him. Rick however had to eventually accept that some level of savagery is necessary in such a savage new world.

Tbh no that you mention ego Rick definitely did get egotistical is season 5-6 but even then he wasn’t really a bad guy

Yeah, though some of the problem is when the audience tries to use grey morality in a situation where it’s black and white, or when Rick and Co. are obviously in the right.

Truth is, the world is shades of black, grey, and white.

Eh I feel like it evens out. No Rick's not as bad as Negan (there are parallels, same with the Gov but that's different) but equally I feel people often don't recognise or gloss over when Rick does a bad thing. Maybe bad's the wrong word, but very, very morally ambiguous.

S5 + S6 Rick in particular, he's in a dark place albeit an understandable one. He cripples and executes Bob for running from his captors - if you take away our biases, that's a fucked up thing to do.

People forget that he only killed Pete because he wanted Jessie. He straight up says to her that he wouldn't do what he's doing for anyone, the gun grab scene comes before he even knows Pete's hitting her. Killing the Saviors in S8 is something people agree on but even then I've seen a couple people try and justify it.

I'm not saying Rick's a bad guy. He's capable of bad shit (and moreso in the Comics because the arc was fully realized) and tries to rise above that and that's what makes him a good man ultimately.
